Hello everyone. Special greetings to Bellong and the crew. You guys are amazing. I've gone through the first and second thread and I'm so impressed with the wealth of information. Thank you all for being so generous.

I have questions concerning payment since there is a dollar restriction on naira cards and I don't have a credit card or a dollar card. Please what other payment option is available. I've tried autransaction but it seems they are out of business or they changed website. Please help. Thank you

Look for someone in Aussie to make the payment for you.

Hi @bellong and guys

could someone Kindly help me understand something, please.

Pro-rata occupations are supposed to be the ones in high demand, according to all that I have read
However, when I saw the recently released Labour statistics, my assessed occupation - Electronics Engineer, which is pro-rata is "no shortage" and demand for the next 5 years is expected to be "moderate". Now I'm wondering why I shouldn't have just assessed for Electrical Engineer which has a Shortage in all states and Strong demand for the next few years.

So is it possible for an occupation to be pro-rata and not have high demand?
and would you recommend I assess freshly as Electrical Engineer?

I suppose it can help guide folks in choosing an occupation to assess for, alongside the backlog of that occupation.

Ideally you'll have to apply for nomination for the both through their website.
However, nomination for offshore applicants is currently on hold, pending when their national borders is opened up.

Your point is quite high though. How did you end up with 85 for 189? That means 190 will give you 90.

Can you give a break down of your points?

Migration Tasmania will periodically review EOIs and contact the most promising candidates and invite them to apply for nomination through SkillSelect. So you will have to wait. What is your occupation BTW?

For a start, I will say ask God for direction. It is what I do when faced with problem of choice.

Now to human understanding, I will pick Australia over the other two as GIS has a pathway to permanent residence particularly study of identifying solutions to wildfire problem. While Canada also has a good pathway to PR, Australia has other advantages like better weather, better pay, ease of settling compared to Canada and others. The advantage Canada may have over Australia from my position may be the closeness to the USA for those who have relatives in the USA.

Reason I asked the source of the scholarship is because if it is government sponsored, all the three countries expect you to return to Nigeria post study for at least one year. Seeing you have no such clog in the wheel, Australia is a good choice.

If you have experience in GIS, you can start your PR processing even before you start or complete your study.

Congratulations and all the best in your decision making. May heaven lead you.

Which state is the university in Australia?

Congrats on bagging those juicy offers. I agree with bellong. I did my PhD in Australia and also familiar with the North American system as I currently work as an Academic in the US. I would do a PhD in Australia over and over again.

BTW, if anyone is considering the Australia Global Talent/Distinguished Visa and needs some guidance, please feel free to post your question here and I will be happy to reply. Please do your own research before posting questions to me. Please do not DM me unless it is super private.

Firstly, select all the regions you're interested in on EOI SkillSelect. You can as well select 'any'

Thanks. I did that already. Just saw that one needs to apply to each of the regions separately, hence, I asked.

That is not how 190/491 works. Firstly, most states have put their nomination for offshore applicants on hold till further notice due to the pandemic. For 190/491, states have different occupational list and criteria for nomination. In NSW for instance, there's a separate list and requirements for 190 and the state has about 6 different RDA with different occupational list and criteria for 491 nomination. Applying to a state/regional area and getting their nomination is the first step for 190/491, followed by submitting EOI to skillselect. You can get more info from the following links.

HI Futuredon,

I am considering going for my PhD in either Canada or Australia and to be fair Ireland too( however i heard funding is peanut).
My only worry with Australia is the distance and the wildlife stuff(spiders, snakes and kangaroo)

Why would you prefer to do a PhD in Australia over any country? how many years was your PhD for and what was it in?

Thank you all for your input.

I'd like to ask few questions in regards to my application. I'm 31 years, an HND graduate in urban and regional planning. I've worked with a Mcirofinace bank, just got a government as a higher technical planning officer with LASG.

My questions are:
1) I want to do an HND conversion to B.tech in order to have more work experience prior to my application to stand a better chance when applying.

P.S. I have been reading from page 1, I just need to know if HND conversion is a right thing to do.
