These guys have been trying really hard to rope in her mother in the crime. The mother is totally oblivious of what her daughter did if not they would have escaped from the scene.

So let me get some people straight...a child commits a misdemeanor and the next thing is to accuse the mother? What sort of "Nigerian Police" Mentality is this?

Some punk was even saying the girl should be killed...seriously

Emotions are running high... Yes. But let's be objective; if you have dealt with children before, you'll know that Satan can minister to them sometimes...I'm not in anyway absolving the girl, I'm just saying there is no crime by proxy in this matter...at least not yet, until the girl comes out to say my mummy told me to do it.
If they hang her entire family, it is not enough....useless family

The time they are using to do voice over, they would have used it to put off the fire before it escalated.

Nigerians would install CCTV, they wouldn’t employ security personnel to watch it 24/7. In fact, they think it is a waste of staff to have one person watching the CCTV. They will be so angry to pay that person at the end of the month, because in their mind, the person no work anything. But once there is a petty robbery or fire outbreak, they would release videos and start making innocent Nigerians fight themselves over who is guilty or innocent.

That said, the NPF mode of interrogation is really shameful.

Of course I know that, but of what use is it to us now? “See her smile”, okay, we have seen it. What should we do? The Nigerian police should add it to their list of inconclusive investigations. That is when they are done with #HinyUmoren and Chidinma the slayer of Ataga.

You call this a misdemeanor?
Well..... nothing can be done to the girl by Law, however, to the world, she is an arsonist and should be watched closely. This exposure alone is worse than any punishment. Such a little demon!

Your question is not related to the topic of discussion, that section of the super market is were they sell gas items, the girl started the fire with one of the gas lighter not an empty gas cylinder.

Was my question addressed to u? Did u follow d discussion I was having with d gentleman I was conversing with? How then did u arrive at d conclusion that my question isn't related to d topic? Are u d author of d topic? If my question isn't related to d topic, then who asked u about gas lighter? Did u see any enquiry about lighter or carton in my question?

But to answer your totally unrelated question, fire is cause by fuel, heat and oxygen. There's oxygen in the atmosphere, fuel could be any petroleum products, paper, wood etc. And by heat I mean lighter, spark from engine plug, cigar that not quench etc.

Pls how's what u wrote related to this question?

How does an empty gas cylinder cause fire?

Yes they are, but they were not filled as people are insinuating.
I am struggling to understand the science of pressurized containers. See how a big supermarket put cylinders on the shelf as if say na chocolate abi milk. What folly! Shouldn't' there be a body regulating the purchase, sale and transport of these volatile goods? CCTV here be like levels. I'm sure those things are not properly manned, else they'd have spotted her.

You are just ribbing the management with your statement.

If I were to hold your statement with critical analysis, you have shot yourself in the leg.

So the gas cylinders were certified for home use and definitely tested and passed quality checks, so definitely, they could still be flammable as a result of volatile residual gases.
The cylinders were empty.
No dey argue nonsense. Those were empty cylinders.

The little girl went in their like she was on a mission.
She knew exactly where to go, what to do, and how to do it.

Baba stop all this English.. That girl was clearly sent...She was even looking back when the fire started.....Why she no burn there House??...why the evil spirit as many claim was controlling her,no control her burn there House or mama and papa business...

Send her to a Juvenile prison......When she turns 18,she goes full time...

Goods of over 3 billion and you are speaking English.... Really painful

Why are this people looking for cheap sympathy. Lets forget about the demon possessed little girl for now. If you watch the cctv closely. A staff noticed the fire maybe 3mins after she ignited the fire . The fire could be put off if fire extinguisher is close by. This is a gross incompetence on the super market management side. No smoke or fire alarm. No monitoring of cctv.Nothing.

The govt should compensate the owner from tax money since the crime was carried out by a minor

I’m telling you, they r just looking for narration to involve the mother as culprit. This is a case of evil girl that would not put her hand where it belong, we have them around. There is this small boy that live beside my flat, every time he will want to enter my room, anytime I allow him he will be dipping his hands everywhere. U stop him here he goes to another place n he still something, the boy is still in basic one oooo. The parent knows who he is they always beat him anytime he enter peoples room yet anytime they r not around he will be peeping al the rooms.

If such boy is taking to this kind of place people will like to make it seems as if the parent r also culprits whereas he is just stupid n evil himself. Make God no give us pikin wey go put us for gbege.

when we were small there is this girl that used to scare her mum every time because of her restlessness n scary attitude( the mum used to say ‘are you sure you won’t kill me you this child) whereas the mum has hypertension, one day with her stupid scary attitude she killed her mum n d mum place a curse on her. This was a girl that is very pretty n brilliant, she has grown to be a woman now n her life is in shambles. Sometimes it’s not parent fault but wicked kids

The mother placed a curse on her before or after she died? cheesy

Imo, the little girl is possessed certainly.. She was probably playing, but knew what she was doing.. Village people remote controlling her..

Girls like her don't have a strong man presence in their life, if you dig deeper.

Shes a minor, nothing can be done t9 her, but she needs to learn a lesson, that will help her control her demons next time

Edited : this shop is well known to be owned by an igbo man.. But i see solidarity from all southerners in seeking justice for the man.. There's no tribalism here..

My point is southerners in Nigeria love themselves.. Forget all the constant fighting and abuse.. Its not very deep. Even bros fight.

Forget, this thing pain me. Ebeano Supermarket is known for community service, ebeano did the road the commuters enjoy today

Well, the woman will have her own explanation also. Remember, a court will only give verdict only on the evidence and fact presented.
The fact is the daughter did start the fire . A child roaming around unsupervised and causes this monumental financial disaster ? The parent/guardian should have a degree of blame .

The interrogation was very good. I strongly believe the mother is the mastermind. How would you explain... the girl never went into the supermarket ... but was interested in nothing ... and knew exactly where to go to locate lighters.... and how to use one. She set the fire... make sure it didn't fizzle out.... then left.... mission accomplished. I know they will make her confess off camera. She was already threatened with a hot slap if she didn't talk. Guess the mother told her not to. The mother was at the scene.... and left. I just hope the little girl is punished and if her mother is the mastermind... she should lose everything and thrown in prison. People need to bear consequences for their actons period.

Underestimate children at you own risk!
Plus, a 9yr old is hardly clueless.

Think back when you were 9...

I want to believe this is a deliberate act of sabotage.
The little girl went in their like she was on a mission.
She knew exactly where to go, what to do, and how to do it.

She was remote controlled. The next step for the police is to find out who was holding the control pad.

Another question to ask is this; Who gains in this situation? The depletion of sales in this supermarket leads to an increase in sales elsewhere.

I won't be surprised if the mastermind is a rival business trying to take out the competition.

You're contradicting yourself.

Either she knew what she was doing, where she was going and what to do....or she was under the control of someone else. Can't be both.

I still cant believe that the replies and comments I'm reading are coming from "smart" people. Anyway, a big supermarket like this must have insurance, and with a good lawyer they should be able to make full claims.

You can't leave children unattended to, just like you can leave children unattended to at the swimming pool.
Adults are responsible for children whe they take them out, if the can't be responsible for them, leave them at home.

The girl is a minor and they know there is nothing they can do to her legally. It is understandable they are doing everything to rope in an adult. She carried out her devilish act by 7pm, a staff member noticed it by 7:02pm. They were pretty incompetent in handling the situation.
