You can mix your blocks with mud blocks. Foundation normal block, middle and Interior mud, finishing to the top normal block. But this rainy season, strong mud block will be scarce but it's good, bullet no dey penetrate mud blocks

Almost same thing if you dont intend to have a parapet. Because with parapet you will have to install column base and that will cost you because of rod and casting. But if its a regular house you will only have a beam which you can even make cheaper by installing beams only on windows and doors. No much difference it will only consume more blocks and cement for chocking depending on the size of the rooms and building..

Modified: all this depends on your engineer, some can me reckless with materials while some can be conservative...
