Good morning, for those that have used “Form A” , what are the documents to take to the bank?

Between GTBank and First Bank, which would you recommend?

Respected Sir/Ma,

I am ×××××, I submitted my application for a study permit on ××××. I submitted my application alongside the documents required for the Nigerian Student Express(IELTS with an overall band score of ××× and a mybankstatement ticket showing over ×××××).

I know and I am fully aware of your busy schedules, coupled with the fact that the COVID 19 pandemic is affecting your services but see this mail as a plea for the expedition of my application. PPR ALERT
TIMELINE:
• February 8th: First submission
• February 17th: I received an NSE request. I had already submitted IELTS, so they just requested for MBS certificate.
• March 10th: I completed my NSE resubmission.
• March 16th: I went for upfront medicals
• April 12th: Medicals were updated to passed
• April 19th: I received a BVL At this point I was so excited and was anticipating receiving PPR.
• April 21st:Received a request letter asking for police certificate. I received the request mail around 6am. I went to Ikoyi that same day to get the police certificate and submitted it that same day.
• May 5th: I received a second BVL. When I received this, I was so confused. I had never heard of someone receiving more than on BVL. I thought IRCC mistakenly sent me BVL instead of PPR.
• May 31st : I ordered my GCMS notes
• June 30th: I received my GCMS notes. They were perfect, they showed “Eligibility: passed” and “Final: approved”. I was so happy, but IRCC decided to keep me waiting. I can't lie, I started to doubt whether the notes were true.
• July 28th : PPR
I am a first time applicant. I applied for a PGD in Marketing & Data Analytics at Okanagan college.
I submitted 2 MBS certificates, one from my dad and the other from my uncle. I also submitted two letters of sponsorship, one from my parents the other from my uncle.
It has ended in praise!!

Adding supporting documents can never be overemphasized. Not just to college applications, universities as well..

I remember when I contacted Carleton uni for a program, stating my cgpa (and last 2 yrs cgpa) cos I didn't meet the 80% overall cgpa.

Although I was told that I didn't meet up to their req, I was also advised to add up supporting documents to aid given admission (cv, certificates, rec letter , etc)....i got the offer eventually (although it took months grin )

There's no such thing as submitting too many documents when it comes to applying for grad programs in Canadian schools...

No leave any stone unturned!!!

Spot on based on experience response. You said it all Honorable.

This is what i call INTELLECTUAL PACKAGING

If you are applying for GRADUATE SCHOOL ADMISSION (MASTERS, PHD), you need supporting documents, cos you are in competition with lots of brilliant and more brilliant international students from different parts of the world coming to study in Canada, so you know Canada don't have much schools like USA. USA has over 3000 thousands Universities, and am not sure Canada has up to 500 Schools, this would would also bring about more pressure and competition on the Canadian Universities available.

Reasons why some of these scholarship gurus (US/CANADA) recommend that, applicants should have the following when applying to graduate school
- Academic CV (North-American Style & Well drafted)
- Cold Mail (To be drafted & sent to each professors based on their research areas as it aligns with your research interests)
- Statement of Purpose (SOP) for GRADUATE School (not SOP for Visa Application)
- Cover Letter (For ADVERTISED POSITIONS)
- Published Thesis (might be helpful) but not Compulsory etc.

ALSO, with the way application fee seems quite outrageous as regards exchange rate (NAIRA to CAD), you wouldn't want to submit any how application for admission in Canada, so even if you have 2.1, 2.2, normalize packaging your application well and avoid applying generically for Admission or Graduate Opportunities

Here is a public forum, and there is a reason why it is a public forum. The only laws guiding this thread is the Nairaland forum laws and not individually suggested laws.

It is normal that some individuals will see situations that can be improved on, but trust me it won't matter on the long run. That's the beauty of a public forum, everybody is free to do their personal will provided it didn't contravene the law of the platform (Nairaland).

Few months ago that I started following this thread. I went through tons of pages to get the information I needed before proceeding to ask those I am confused about. But it is very common to see many people ask about a thing that is stated on the very first page of the thread. I used to frown on that before, until I realise it is a public forum and there is bound to be individual differences.

Many people will act differently and will approach things differently to how you will approach it.

You cannot tell people how to celebrate their application approval and you can't also tell people how to react to their application denial. You cannot tell people how to post or what to post about approval and denial also.

Most people that post their decisions usually add timelines and documents submitted. And I think that's the most important thing.

May God ease all our affairs.

God won't let us see refusals abeg .. May God crown our efforts with positivity (both first time and re-applicant) . It shall be happiness overflow for us.

Perseverer:
We hardly get updates here these days.

People will rush to their keyboards to type PPR news, writing out their list of docs, acquisitions and ample accomplishments. Including strangers that have never posted on this thread before.

But scarcely will you see people post refusals to either seek assistance from the platform or illuminate others.

Honestly, Nairaland is awash with too many PPR news, and I am sure newbies can learn from past success stories.

Apart from updates on PPR (so that one may be able to identify the stage of processing) what I believe we need to see more of are refusals and how they were tackled.

I am certain that for every PPR, there are at least 2 refusals that correspond. But na only success stories we dey hear.

It's a public forum, which means he also has the right to post his views on here. Just as you have the right to do the same.

But if you guys keep dragging this on, this thread will be polluted, and what's the point.

PPR just dropped.

Funny thing is I applied this month, and it's a reapplication.

Previous refusals were purpose of visit and home tie.

So I made some very serious adjustments in my reapplication. I submitted more documents to prove my family tie and explained copiously in my SOP.

The purpose of visit concerns must have been entered in error because I had very good academic/career progression, so I stressed on that, albeit politely.

As for home tie, that's pretty personal and can't share that here with you.

The most important thing is that I did a lot of explaining. I think I wrote like three different LOEs. I also attached a lot of documents as evidence.

But here is the thing, there are many ways of compiling an application. And what works for me may not work for the other person.

I wish you all the best.

Guys, I have a question to ask.

If I decide to travel in November, instead of September, will it be a problem? I intend to take classes online before finally moving so as to minimize expenses.

Fall semester this year is online for us... I don't wanna spend on accommodation when I can simply take my classes from here.
