Just because u drove tipper once by chance means u can drive any truck...The op failed to let people understand it's not about knowing how to drive but go through the learning process and be able to do minor work if there's any breakdown on the road.
The op failed to highlight many things involved.
He must be a rookie in the trucking industry.

In trucking, it's either you're a light duty driver or a heavy duty driver.

I doubt the OP making a pass at Dangote Transport driving test cos its a different thing driving ten tyre/mini trucks compared to heavy duty 22 tyre trucks.
Some driver move tomatoes, animals and foodstuffs while other move biscuits but for you to truck 45 tons of cement or Fuel/gas day in day out is on another level.

Drivers get grade.

My brother ,you made the right choice .

We are currently in a skill economy .

Robots are taking over human jobs daily .
People are loosing their jobs daily and more will still go .. No go beat me .Do your research before u insult me .

Only the skillful will survive in few years to come .

My counsel is , as money start coming from your truck business or job ...try and set out time to learn a high income skill i.e the programming you just mentioned in your post and sell it on Freelancing site like Upwork , Fiverr and so on.....
You will be shocked of what you will earning monthly .

Because having one streams of income is suicidal. The minimum stream of income you should have is 4 or 7. Dangote has 69 and more loading .

In case anyone is interested in learning about Freelancing(Upwork ) & Copywriting/Importation .Kindly hit 0.7.0.33.26.95.49.

Thanks .

hello guys, I am Abdulkabir from Edo state, my journey into the world of trucks came about after a misfortune I faced, at one time I was a student in Uniben department of Animal science under Agricultural faculty, I left school without differing the admission to travel abroad, An Ill fated trip that got me touring the airport in Turkey waiting for my transit flight to Ukraine.

I later got deported from turkey for fake visa and all my attempts to reintegrate into school proved abortive. hence I was left with either retrying to gain admission or find a way to fend for myself, so having decided to learn a vocation, I was interested in learning computer programming but funds was not available so I had to learn something more cost effective, other handy works I could learn required a certain capital and I was dead broke as I had been abandoned by my father who was my sole sponsor.

so I had to look for a skill to learn, still be earning while learning and have a greater prospect of meeting up with living standards at its culmination.
Now I am a certified truck driver currently employed by Ardova plc.

Have You Ever Considered Learning Truck Driving?

Experience driving a truck; better still, legitimate license evidence that you are able, is a surprisingly useful skill to have if you are someone in Nigeria right now planning to escape to Europe or America by whatever means. You will be employed quickly.

Long term outlook tough isn’t bright due to companies anticipation autonomous vehicles that will cut them costs..

Someone please help me with this I am very much interested in learning how to drive a truck, of course going through all the necessary process. I graduated from the University 6years ago and it has not been easy for me. There's no where I haven't searched for job, there's no kind of menial job I haven't done just to make ends meet. I thought of learning a skill but getting the money to do that is always a problem. I am almost getting to the point of giving up. I don't want to go into anything illegal. Please if you can connect me I am hard working and I am ready to give my all I am ready to start as a motor boy and learn gradually from there. Exactly, am heavy duty driver always on the road 24/7 moving range of 35_40 tons in a long distance journey. In couple of hrs am about to move 37 tons of goods to Edo state from Lagos. Driving highly heavy goods Frome state to state is different from moving goods of 20_25 tons within same state, it's different ball game entirely but I salute his ruggedness coz most Nigerian youths especially the educated ones like us are not even interested in truck driving.

I used to be fascinated by trucks but not anymore. Not since I started seeing how the kind of trucks been used to convey containers look so awful, scary and very difficult a job to do. One incident like that, a truck conductor will jump down at every braking to put wedge to help slow the very old scary faced truck. The driver was just bare bodied and dragged the steering like it was in war front with sweats all over his body. I don’t think I have ever seen a truck with functioning air conditioner. It’s like everything stress and suffering is associated with truck driving.

grin grin grin grin you killed me with laughter.
Most of our Nigerian trucks are really scary monster iswear u I love trailers & trucks but not those rusty monsters.

Oga 3_6 months is too small for someone to drive truck except if it's just all these small small lorry. Driving for a long distance journey is all about how to drive.

Will u teach them how to handle tools in case of emergency...
Wat of strange sign while driving, that may not happen to ur truck within that short time interval.....
Wat of Minor electrical work that u will put him through on dashboard if there's any....
There are so many minor mechanical work that he will av to knw and some technique while driving up the hills, sloapy places and even check point.

If u are to teach someone how to drive, u need time for him not during that time frame. It's too small except if it's light goods for short distance journey.

Chaii you can lie for Africa.

1. Truck Driving is a cool job.
2. Accident is inevitable, humans can only manage it.

With the biggest fleet as Dangote, we are managing accidents to the least minimum.
Our drivers do more than 5000 trips daily- I'm sure you haven't seen or heard of any Dangote truck crash since past 3weeks.
FRSC are always on ground for training and retraining.
We got live speed limit monitors/ trackers installed on all our trucks, mechanics, maintenance, compliance, checkpoint, Convoy officers are doing great too.
Meanwhile, tell me anywhere in the world where a company has over 50,000 operational trucks without accidents?!

You'll never say shitt if it's a Gas/fuel tanker crash that kills thousands yearly.
But the moment it's Dangote truck?! nothing weh we no go hear
Dangote Transport is the best in sub Saharan Africa.
Its a company you should wanna join.

I am a proud Dangote Transport staff tho.
don't mind him, i have been a trailer driver at dangote cement plc Obajana for past 7 years,no accidents, no scratches.
