Sometimes you love the fact that you're alone and another moment you will get tired of the boredom.

I have been alone for a year now in a new city where I know nobody, I work remotely and I also enjoy learning more, infact I don't think I have enough time for myself considering the courses ahead of me, these are programming courses. I watch TV programs or go out when I'm bored though this does not totally take care of the boredom.

I also tried to join a church but they want to kill me with midweek programs, vigils and calls, men I no dey for all that.

So my advice for you is to start learning something you are interested in, make a time table, read up about something you're curious about and whenever you're bored...go out and chill at a restaurant, cinema or just stroll.

Don't welcome any tom dick just cause you're lonely, but be open enough to recognize a like minded person where you will never lack topics to discuss.

I have all these things you asked me to get but i still feels very lonely. I just want to have the feeling of someone sharing the same space with me. I told my sister to come and stay with me and get a job in my city but she said she wants to stay with my parents and work in the same city as my parents.

At some point I thought about changing accommodation and renting a shared space instead of a full space where it is just only me but on a second thought, I said no because I don’t want to have issues with anybody.

Most Saturday I go out with some of my colleagues who are also my friends and on Sunday I go to church bit immediately I get back home, it is different.

Am an indoor person too, a fashion designer and i do all my jobs at home
Except going to the market to buy stuffs or going to deliver my jobs.

I don't really let the loneliness get to my head,
Personally i take my fall out with folks as a lesson to keep to myself,

But surely when the tine is right you'll find/get someone to share your space with and who would complete and appreciate you in every way

I for one, i believe it is normal to want human company but at the same time like you already mentioned, you can’t force people to want what you want and also people have their lives to live too.

So find something that will excite you while you learn it, call your friends once once, take a stroll once once, read books. That’s my best remedy, reading books. Not just any book o, novels. Find authors you like and just keep reading.

I like Sidney Sheldon, Jeffrey Archer, Stephen King, etc.

And then just sometimes if you have light, watch movies, put on music and just sing along while you dance.

I can’t dance for the life of me but I just dance carelessly alone.

And talk to yourself, be your best friend. And pls don’t forget to reach out too. I’m sure many of your friends and relatives want to hear and gist with you, just reach out.

I have been living alone for long so much that I think I enjoy my own company too much, now I want to step out sometimes and just mingle but then, I enjoy my space too much

You can also get a pet. Me I have been craving to get a dog but the amount they are calling ehh, well,…..

In all, guard your heart, your thoughts and plan your actions. You will be fine dear

2. Get interested in professional developments/certifications....very time consuming
3. Fall in love with quora....you would read a lot of actually interesting real stories from real people who are mostly sensible

5. Definitely have a boy that is allowed to call you from time to time....makes a lot more sense if he is several thousand miles away from you.
6. Find a dance school close to home....been trying to sort this cos a friend is having a blast learning salsa.

Singleness with money isn't on the same level with singleness without money u are fighting two battle on a single front.

I used to read lots of books, listen to music to keep myself busy when I was sure of my life's trajectory now that I'm not so certain I use all that time to take certification courses that will help to improve my income cos I cannot survive being broke and lonely grin

Loneliness get to stage where it begins to look for a friend. No matter the strategy you employ, you can not be a tree in the forest forever, it will get to a stage where you will desire someone.

Unfortunately, economy is making men lonely because you never chop two square meal talkless of inviting another person to come join you. So the loneliness continues.

It's not easy. Personally, I am a loner, so me being alone is actually a choice. But, sometimes I just want someone around. Really, man/woman was not made to be alone. When I get extremely lonely, I go out to see my friend (good thing traffic isn't crazy in IB, I can reach anywhere quickly). My friend is the opposite of me...he can talk for Africa. Lol. So, the visit is always worth it.

Other times, I call my female friend over. We have fought now... I really miss her, even though she has her own issues, we had great times together... but life goes on.

Other times when I can't get company, I just watch a movie or TV series, or chat with friends on WhatsApp. And there are times I really need that full charge...I just take 4-5 days off and go and see my sister...she has kids I really love spending time with. No dull moment with them. Lol. I can stay charged up for weeks after that vacation.

The boredom got worst on me when my phone got stolen.
I virtually became a complete definition of boredom myself.

I only overcame it by strolling around my street.
I stopped by, whenever something caught my attention.

I’m not 26 by the way. I’m 24. I actually have a social life but it ends outside. Anyway people have given lots of tips to keep myself busy at home and I’m grateful for that. The one I liked the most is the musical instrument one and I’m definitely going to try that out.
