The normal way to change oil is complete replacement unless your engine is experiencing oil shortage, that's when you can top it.

And yes, it should have oil shortage cuz it drops & I have to change it like every month. I was advised to do this once it drops low & never allow it dry completely.

Please I'm looking at buying a sumec 1800(1.2kva) for my laptop and one bulb. I want to know if the power will not be too much considering the fact that it'll only power my laptop.

I bought my generator not quite up to 2 yours and it's not heavy usage.

In other to lower the generator noise and fuel efficiency. I remove the governor spring and also lower the speed flat. The generator make very low sounds except for the fact it's vibrates and not running on a balance settings. I really do not care as I wanted a very low noise.

What I have observe so far is that the carburetor rod (bolt and screw) don't last as it always chop out. I guess as a result from the vibration. To unscrew them at times it's a nightmare. But still I don't care because of I don't want laud noise.

I don't know of this is bad for the generator? The generator make too much now if I put back that spring.

It won't be too much even if the generator is 10kva, what matters is they voltage produced, which is 2020-230V.

Both generators are not original. Get the Sumec, and get it from one of their flagship stores, there are fakes everywhere. An original sumec 4.5kva is surely around the 200k region.

Been following this thread for a while now so I decided to get the Haier Thermocool Junior Max last week due to popular consensus here. But my challenge is anytime I want to put on the generator it requires several pulls(sometimes up to 10 pulls and this can be exhausting) before it starts. Is this normal? Or is there something I have not done right? #My1stGen#

As in ehn, I am seeing its better to leave your gen the way it came. If you tweak to save fuel, you cannot load the gen to full capacity without the gen vibrating, that's because the power of the gen has been reduced. Some persons can't go through the headache of tweaking the gen back when they need the power, some even totally forget and are left with self induced issues.

is there a way to adjust the governor a bit. I have lose the generator to the last point. I am not using a load. If I put back the governor spring the noise increases.

You mean you can't reduce the speed with the spring on? If that's the case then you may need to use your hand to pull the governor to adjust it.

One of my generators had the same hard start issue at a point in time which also required pulling the plug connector and fixing it back to start, until the ignition coil was replaced and it became a very smooth starter.

since I bought the generator a technician has never lay there dirty hand on it. I always do anything there in myself. I saw a technician repairing my neighbor generator so I explained to him the problem that the ignition is the problem. But Smhe said the fact the generator is starting it not the ignition. He said it's service of carburetor and change to new spark plugs. But I disagreed. That I already service it and it's a new plug.

Anyway I just allow him to go figure it by himself. He end up damaging the air filter mental back cover. The generator became worst of.

At of annoyance. I went to buy new Original fireman carburetor, new ignition and new complete air filter.

I just finished installing everything myself. And It now start at once stroke. I will never alllow any body put their dirty hand on it again.

It cost some amount but it worth it.
