that was why I said every consideration is dependent on the buying club(s) and how much they are willing to commit.
if he's getting an offer from elsewhere that he's not satisfied with and chooses to stay at Dortmund, then he has to sign a new deal; and that will be on Dortmund's terms because they now hold the cards. yes he will get an improved salary, but something has to give. they are also running a business, not offering charity. the release clause is either bumped up or expunged all together.
remember he's an employee and not a partner.
