For every TMAC, Jaylen Brown and Patrick Beverley you mention, I can mention 20 African Americans that struggled with formal education. These guys know their story is not the story of the average African American. More importantly, stop this rubbish about liberal narratives or right winged politics.. My positions are driven by the reality on ground not politics!

Mention them. Please mention 20 AA ballers that you know cannot read/write well.

my conscience is clear. I deleted it because I did not want to out you like that.

what you said is what liberals like to say to patronize black folk. They make it sound like they are being understanding, but it is a backhanded insult to black folk. Have you seen Lebrons writing on official documents? Not tweets o, I mean real business documents. For real, have you? Or are you just making assumptions.

Fall back with that BS bro, you missed me with this

You are chewing water when you should actually be drinking! Out me like that? Alaye, that is some real high talk coming from you.

The problem with many of you is that you choose to interpret issues from the lenses of politics. This is not a liberal or conservative issue my friend..this is a real issue that is not going away. Whether it is used as a backhand or insult to black folks, it does not negate the fact that it is a REALITY to the AA community. You are mentioning TMAC and the rest like that is the AA story when it comes to equal access to quality education and healthcare.. I asked you to prove me other wise and be careful because I am actively involved in these issues. if you follow any of my political discuss, you should know I don't align my decisions based on political divide but you obviously do and that is why you have once again generalized.

Have I seen Lebron's writing on official documents? Is this a joke of some sort of what? Everyone and their mama knows Lebron is bad with written grammar, the evidence abound the internet and it has been a topic of discussion numerous times. This is not a slap on him because it is a reality in the AA community especially for those who left high school and are from certain zip codes. Speaking good English does not necessarily translate into good written grammar. What makes you think Lebron wrote the words you are alluding to by himself using his own words? Just stop it already.

Grammar. You said you know 20 AA for every erudite baller. Please name just 20. 5 sef, in the NBA. We are waiting...

And post Lebron's bad writing evidence. In your haste, you forgot that even in high school, students know how to write! For your info, Lebron graduated from St Vincents. Most self run businesses in Yankee only have GED equivalent of education. Its mostly conservative talk show hosts that keep spreading the myth that the average baller is under educated

You dont know what you are talking about bro. Pls educate yourself

You are the one that said you know 20 for every baller. You want to tell me that in your Boston, you even know 20 african americans? Talkless of 20 per baller? But of course you know we are only talking about nba folk.

So I repeat, give us some names of NBA folk, or admit you didnt know what you were talking about. Its simple really.

This is why I said you should just shut it if you don't know what you are talking about because you are obviously out of your element. Last year only 18%, freaking 18% of black students in 4th grade scored proficient or above in reading. Do you know the percentage for white students? 45% freaking 45% and you are asking me to show you people?

Statistics also show that the chances of a kid dropping out of school when they are unable to read by 4th grade is at 79%..freaking 79%.. So don't tell me what you absolutely have no knowledge about. remember I warned you to be careful because this is a territory I am actively involved in (primary health care and education in underserved communities). Do you want me to show you the economic distribution also? When I told you that for every TMAC/ JB you mention, I will mention 20, I was not joking. This is only for 4th graders.. 18 freaking percentage in comparison to 45%.. Please leave this conversation because you no reach at all.

This guy don make my blood hot for this rubbish wen him dey CAP about AA. Dude, this is not about politics! I don't freaking care if you are a conservative or liberal. All I care is about the REALITY that you are pretending does not exist! You dey ask me to show you people..

The percentage of AA/ black students that can not read by 8th grade is at 15%. If you have deductive reasoning you will see that there is a 3% drop from 4th grade to 8th grade. What does that tell you? THEY ARE FREAKING TRENDING TO DROP OUT OF SCHOOL BEFORE THE END OF HIGH SCHOOOOOL!

This is not your territory guy! I don't do politics with reality/ life and death. I deal with facts, not conspiracy theories or assumptions.

What you are saying is at total variance with what he is saying.

What is the need of saying other HOF players have become Mayors and Business Moguls? What exactly? if not to measure success? And for the records he did not clarify when I asked him if being on TV is a yardstick for measuring success..His response was "Not really?" is that a definitive answer to you? As for being liked, there is nothing new about @birdman and his choice of narrative being linked to his likeness or hatred for a player.. It is his normal MO. Talking about likeness, where and which world is KG hated in the NBA? @Birdman is the same person who erroneously argued that CP3 was very much liked in the NBA community which is obviously false. Is it every NBA HOF that has a show? What you are speaking about is at huge variance from what he is alluding to..

I can be a huge critic of Lebron's game but I am neva and have never being shy to admit how much influence he exerts in the AA community or the degree of work he has put in the AA community.

Remember I said in my opinion, because it is based on how I understood him. To me, he was not talking about KG as though he was an unsuccessful bum. His HOF credentials is why his jersey is being retired, but birdman felt like a player of his status should be getting interviews on many basketball shows and his opinion should be sought after. That is how I understood his dig at him with respect to his attitude. When you asked him if that was his way of measuring success i.e doing shows, getting interviews, he accepted that there are many ways to quantify success but he was only establishing the like-ability dynamic to success. Mayors are voted right? Which means they are charismatic and likeable. Moguls are successful but what type of mogul? Dwayne Wade, Barkley, Shaq have become media moguls if you please. They might be controversial but people do like hearing their opinion etc because even with their controversy, they are like-able. Bill Russell and Lew Alcindor are people still revered even for their opinions but that is not really the case with KG even though he is rich. That does not mean I think he is not likeable FYI. I am telling you how I understood what birdman was saying.

I dont think it benefits either of us, or anyone on this thread. We are not learning anything, just trowing toxic poo around.

He is still an above average offense runner. You don't lead the league in assists without being good at running an offense

They don't have to be. All I know is with their size they are definitely going to be a problem

Hahaha this guy don't use laugh to kill me. Who is guarding Lebron or AD in Brooklyn? Who is their defensive answer for those 2?

You're hoping. AD is injury prone but he is not going to be hurt every year

Doesn't matter. They are still not an elite defense like the Lakers can be especially since they have a better defensively sound coach.

Westbrook is a bad passer, yes he led the league in assists but you're forgetting he is the only player to pass over 300 turnovers last season with approx 5 turnovers per game.

AD is almost never fit, before Lakers in 2020 he had missed over 100 games to injuries. That's two full seasons in a 7 year career then.

Harden is more of an offensive threat than LeBron currently and Kyrie is harder to guard than AD.

Nets are not elite level defense oh but they're above league average and in 7 games they'll outscore Lakers 4 times.

In case y'all didn't know, the FIBA Afrobasket has kicked off. Yesterday in fact. Nigeria are currently playing Mali in their first group game. 25-10 to Nigeria, 1st quarter.

28-12 Nigeria. End of 1st quarter.
Re: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 11:49am On Aug 25, 2021
After Nigeria led by 21 points, it's now 44-43 at the half angry
Re: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 12:22pm On Aug 25, 2021
Nigeria extend the lead to 18 in the 3rd quarter. 71-53. End of 3rd quarter.
Re: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 12:54pm On Aug 25, 2021
End of game. 81-73 to Nigeria. Not the cleanest of games. Too many turnovers, settling too much for jumpers, not guarding the paint well enough.

Emelogu 18 pts (6 made 3s)
Domingo 16 pts
Utomi 15 pts

We play Kenya next.

Outside of the R. Nichols fallout, ESPN desperately needs to revamp its NBA content because it has been very poor. Over the last 5 years or more, they have struggled to come up with good shows/ contents for another sport that is not the NFL/ College Football.
