No , just book one way .
It’s not required
OmaJoe1:
Hello NairaLanders

Please when booking flight for someone travelling with student visa, do I need to book a return ticket also?

Is a return ticket required for student visa for travel?

@Linana and others that have travelled, your input is needed.

Thanks in anticipation for your response.

Dear Testimonytime,
Yes you are right, I'm in my late 40s (48 to be precise). That goes to show that age isn't a barrier.
I wish you all the best and hope to read your good news very very soon.
I see there's a new thread already. You will surely testify here shortly in Jesus name!
What God cannot do does not exist!

Amen. Surely, it’s testimony time for me. Your testimony is full of God’s assurance that it’s not late for me. Thank you for taking your time to reply.

hello evening please I have a question since you did your medical around July
Isn’t the hospital meant to send the results to IRCC asides you uploading the slip giving
Now you just submitted your application did you contact the hospital back to send the results to IRCC or there’s no need too since you uploaded the slip along when submitting your application ?
they sent me a message about 3 weeks ago that they have sent my result to IRCC even before I applied. I did not know my application will take this long .The moment I got my passport, I applied 4 upfront medical and applied 4 transcripts. my transcripts took 2 months to get to me b4 I could even apply 4 admission. after that ,what took my tym was GIC again.so I applied later than I expected. what is giving me courage is that I saw ppl timeline that got ppr that did medicals before their Application. I have been following Naira land 4 more than a year and I have seen so many ppl timeline

Hello All,

I have been following this thread and several instances have come up about using agents and getting into trouble down the line. Rule of thumb is to verify if your consultant is licensed and regulated by ICCRC, the governing body for Immigration consultants in Canada.

https://iccrc-crcic.ca/find-a-professional/ - This is the link to search for an immigration agent you want to use for your Canada journey. If they are not on the list - I will advise you don't venture.

This ensures that your agent is held accountable if there is negligence on your application - as they can be reported and disciplined. In some cases, agents are required to refund the money for services provided if there was a mistake as well. They are bound by a code of ethics that is taken very seriously. Thought to share this so everyone is well informed!

how many ppl can afford them?.how many of them know what is peculiar to Nigeria and Nigerians. u may submit the same application and documents with someone from south Africa and they will take the person instead of u.I strongly recommend the services of ppl like Frank robbn and GCM writers. I dont know if Frank robbn is certified or not but it's the testimonies that matters.

Oh definitely. The 7900 is a must before they can issue you unconditional letter of acceptance for your visa application

Hello house
Please I need help
I and my family are currently thinking Of relocating to Canada and I would love to know what my chances are. 1 am 28 and have only a ND in computer science. My husband is 37 and has a Bsc from a Cyprus uni. We have 3 kids and we are not thinking of applying through express entry as our chances as we know would be slim, please are there other options we can use? We don't also mind going back to school but we also don't know which one of us would be more eligible for a student visa. I was thinking of going to study LPN in a college but out last child would have to go with me as he's still a baby and I don't know if it would reduce my chances and if my husband must go first then, what should be apply for? These are our my worries. We have travel history from turkey, and we've also gone to Dubai and UK with 2 of our kids. Please help us make a good decision. Note: my husband is not really interested in staying in Canada permernently as he's currently into farming and he's passionate about it, he's more interested in securing one for I and the kids for future sake.

Please my people, make una help us

Hi lovely,

you may have to go for a diploma or advanceddiploma course in a closely related field. Most importantly. look for schools that offer the same courses you are interested in.

next step is to plan your finances, then secure your admission and begin the visa process

let's keep Faith and hope alive

Wow a new thread. May all our desires be granted.

Landing Gist...

So I booked Lufthansa/Air Canada (Lagos to Frankfurt to Montreal to Toronto). Don't let me bore you with the details, I will just highlight the key points.

Pre Departure

1) While searching for airlines to book, I discovered that Google Flight is the best tool to use. You can easily input your details, unlist unwanted connecting airports in the US due to there transit visa requirements and know the best flight fare for your trip directly from the airlines. The only issue is that for the major airlines you may have to book with USD on the airline site after selecting from Google Flight.

2) Thank you for the person that recommended SynLab Ibadan (₦50,400). I did my Covid test with them and got the result before 7 AM the next day.

3) If you are at MMA, Lufthansa and Qatar airways stand is close to gate A. So you can drop at gate A to save you stress.

4) Ignore the agricultural whatever people, simply tell them you have no agricultural product. I told them I am a student and na book full my woven bag. It worked. Also, I seem to have exhausted all my naira before going in, I ended up not tipping all those that asked for "show us love". Na only smile I gave them.

5) Weighing your bags on the day you are leaving before getting to the airport is advisable. Removing your loads and rearranging to cut down weight can be stressful and disjointed. Prioritize what you need most and make sure you are within the weight limit before arriving at the airport.

Post departure

1) My flight landed in Montreal from Frankfurt and I collected my study permit at Montreal. It is quite an easy process, I am fully vaccinated so exempted from quarantine and exempted from arrival covid testing.

2) Don't exchange your USD at the airport. The airport rate I saw was about 1USD to 1.10 CAD.

when you open a bank account upon arrival, you can deposit in for 1 USD to 1.22 CAD at the bank branch. And withdraw CAD with your new ATM.

3) For those taking this route (Lagos-Frankfurt-Montreal-Toronto), you will have to get your study permit and pick up your luggages before proceeding to Toronto. It may take up time, but don't worry your connecting flights to Toronto will be rescheduled at no cost to the nearest flight to the time you are done.

I was worried about it too, but it worked out well.

4) I booked an Uber with my GTbank naira ATM card upon arriving at Toronto.

Note that the app pickup exit is on the ground floor at Pearson, you will have to take an elevator to the ground floor. App pick-up is quite cheaper than airport taxi.

First Day in Toronto

1) I was able to get my SIN and open a bank account the next day. Both took about 2 hrs. SIN registration was done at Service Canada on College Street, I met about 5 people on the queue. All major banks have a branch on that street too and are close to Service Canada. So you can get a bank account same day. You can do both process without having a Canadian number yet.

2) Don't be in a rush to sign up for a cellular network. Ask around to know the coverage available in your area and the best rate. I found out that Public Mobile and Freedom are the most reasonable costwise in Toronto. They have 15CAD per month plan and 25CAD per month plan unlike the others with mostly about 40 to above 50 CAD plans.

3) Find someone around your locality to groom you on where to get most things you need. Don't get overwhelmed and take it one step at a time. Prioritize the necessity (Getting SIN, opening account, getting SIM, knowing where to get groceries).

To those expecting PPR, keep the hope alive. To those newly approved God will ease the travel preparation phase for you. To those arriving or newly arrived, God will guide our steps.

We shall all overcome.

I think this is a dumb question so don't judge me. For online applications how do you go about the digital photo. I used Visafoto.com but I saw
You must also upload the photographer's information (name, address and date the photo was taken) to the "Client Information" item, under Optional Documents. We accept the photographer's receipt or a text file.
I actually just took a selfie and used visafoto to change it to ircc standards. Don't know exactly how to address the above. Please help smiley
You have the option of going to take passport photograph and you will have the option of having a digital copy sent to you Or you snap and crop available passport photograph of yourself using your phone.
