Pls what is best chemical I can use to clear stubborn weed on my farm. There is one stubborn weed on my farm, I don't know it name or it phylum. But it common mustly in all farm. It body full of PINS. U it very difficult to cut without been pin youthand or body.

Try to use 2-4 D...let me see the picture of the weed...

Hello Tomi2000, I'm still anticipate pictures of weed you promised to send. Anyway, the best chemical that can kill mostly all weed is mixture of Glyphosate and 2,4-D. You need to be extra careful when apply it...if it touch your plantain it can kill it...

Is that your main source of income or you have another means of incomes. If it going to be only source of income you will need to mix your plantain with another crops with short list span. In my previous post I think I have mentioned some of crops you can mix with your plantain.

If you are less busy and you have time to visit your farm at lease 5 days in a week, you can mix it with Tomato � or peppers.

Every year there is always scarcity of certain crops for anybody to know certain crops that will scarce that year will involve define intervention.
Some years back it was Tomato. Sometimes is rice, sometimes is cassava. This very year I can say it cassava and Plantain. Because ever since I have been into plantain cultivation I have never sell plantain with amount we sell I this year. Dozen of big bunches sold for 70k.....

What I can say it that you can cultivate Plantain been your interested crop and mix it with any crop you like that will give less stressed.

At end of the day you can't loss anything.

If you are your farm I'd between 1-5 acres of land you can visit there twice in a week.

Etrader,I'm a student, though in my finals,to graduate few months from now. I've always fantasized about plantains. As I even have a little plantation at our backyard (lol). But the problem is that they hardly produce big seeds to my satisfaction and sometimes it takes longer to produce too. I want to start little by using a plot of land for planting. But my major issue is that I'm entirely new on how to use fertilizers to augment my harvest as I've never used one before. So I would seriously need your advice on the best fertilizer to use and how to apply this fertilizers to my plants. I would really appreciate your input Sir. Besides I stay in Rivers State. Depend on your farm location, u should consider the transport cost too. In case your farm is not too far from Lagos, you can take it to any market in Lagos. You can go to Oke-Alfa market at isolo in Lagos. It is a new market and sales in that market is impressive.
