Hello I authenticated my documents last year at the ministry of foreign affairs and education, but unfortunately I wasn't able to travel last year, is the authenticity on the documents still valid? Do I have to authenticate it again before applying for travel course? And lastly a few documents I authenticated expired, how much will it cost to authenticate my police character report and medical report at the ministry of foreign affairs? quote author=iamadonis2 post=104162669]

Officially, Uploading cost 300 multiplied by 2 = 600
Remita should be under 1k

But back channels should charge 700 - 1,000 per page to append the signature for you in a few hours [/quote]

Hello.

The ministry of Education started using stickers with barcodes sometime last year. If you have the stickers on your documents then all is in order. However if you authenticated when the authentication with stickers had not started, then you have to go back for revalidation. Begin the entire process again

This is because Embassies now look out for the stickers with barcodes from the ministry of Education.

Secondly those two documents will cost 2k only. I’ll be sending you a PM for any further question you may have.

4Justice:
There is a new Sheriff in town.

Walk into the MOE gate, you will be greeted by security men, and be given number then directed to a guy that sells O'level scratch card @#1,000.
(You can buy from outside jare).
Note, that number given was as useless as P in psychology.

Take the lift(Yes, the lift is functioning now) to the 8th floor, ask for attestation room. Then the process and waka waka will start:

Step 1:
An official will address everyone at the waiting area, and she will check your documents, and source of identity individually, after direct you one after the other to another room to obtain a form for #200.

On that form, you will fill your bio and educational data, and the purpose of your attestation/evaluation. Also, the woman will write your charge based on the number of the document you want to attest on the form. At the rate of #300/page for attestation.
And you will fill a register.

Step 2:

You can use either 4th or ground floor photocopy and internet services to generate remita for your attestation payments.
Charge #450, might change though according to the Cybercafe you used.

After, you will take the print out for confirmation at 2nd floor. A room called COP or so. Then do 3 copies of the signed remita payment receipt and take it to the revenue office for the ministry receipt. Located at right-wing of the ground floor.

You should print out your O'level results with the O'level scratch card pin, also you will write the card details on the form, and attached a passport.

Make 3 copies of each of your documents.

Step3: Go back to the office, and the women will assist you to arrange and submit it.

You will be asked to wait, and you will get your attested document same day (before 2pm self)

For eligibility letter, you will apply after you have gotten your attested document and go the next day for it.

The new Head had really restore sanity to that department.

Do not use agent, the evil is more than the good.

God bless you for this information. Please can you or anybody detailed that of MOFA since we are adviced about the policemen

Mudley313:
is legalization/authentication same thing as notarization in naija? cos i'm planning on having something (a foreign document) notarized in naija soon and i'm now wondering if they're notary offices or anything of that sort in naija; and i used to think probably the courts out there could do that

anybody know bout notarization in naija? or is it the same thing with what's been talked about in here?

Good morning Nairalanders,

Let me detailed how it went here cause without some persons who took their time to dropped clue here wouldn't have been easy for me.

No one to help so I traveled all the way from Lagos to Abuja for the first time on the 13/09/2021

Firstly. The Ministry of Education, floor 8, federal Secretariat, Abuja only authenticate/evaluate school Certificates e.g degree, o level, primary etc..getting there, you will be ask to visit any computer center to upload those documents. You will then be ask to buy WAEC SCRATCH CARD for 2k, please do not cause you won't need it on the long run provided you have your ORIGINAL WAEC CERTIFICATE with you.
That been said, depends on the number of documents you want to upload, I was charged N2600 for 3documents including the Remitter payment. YOU WILL then take the Remitter printout to 1st FLOOR revenue department to change to a RECEIPT. then, go back to 8floor to join the queue...3queues. one to clear your documents, second to get Sticker at 250naira and last queue for DIRECTOR to sign your documents and that's all for MOE.

If you were able to finish before 1pm then you proceed to the Ministry of foreign affairs.

On getting there, you will meet the men in Uniform asking you what you want. For me, I told them, have gotten remitter and want to submit. They let me in and I went straight to their office, they checked my documents and ask me to go to computer to pay Remitter which cost 300naira per page depends on number of documents you want to authenticate with one passport photo. I paid and went back there and was told to come back by 3pm.

It took me two days cause of the crowd. One day at MOE and second day without much stress was at MOFA.
SOMEONE TRUSTWORTHY CAN go there to do it on your behalf.
For Letter of Eligibility, same process at the MOE.

Hope this write up help someone out there.

Does anyone or any firm(say law firm ) provide a professional service of such on behalf of another?
Re: Authenticity Of Documents At Ministry Of Foreign Affairs, Abuja by Sanctecosma(m): 8:10am On Oct 21, 2021
Thanks so much for this info, but I want to ask, is it possible to authenticate your degree certificate without the transcript. The reason am asking this is because I recently went to MOE to authenticate my academic docs (WAEC, STATEMENT OF RESULT + TRANSCRIPT), meanwhile, the transcript was sent to me via email by my school (as that is the new procedure) so i had to print it out. But unforunately, the transcript only was rejected at the MOE on the grounds that it was a scanned copy, there and then, they demanded that I write my school to send them the original transcript. But doing that will take time (like 4 weeks +) so wondering if it's possible to authenticate only my degree certificate without transcript. Pls your advice will be greatly appreciated

Thanks for this. But is it possible to authenticate my original degree certificate without my transcript as my transcript (student copy) was rejected by MOE the last time I went for authentication. Though i didnt have my degree cert then. So they demanded that my school send my original transcript to them
Ope4Christ:

NECO certificate is equivalent to WAEC and it is acceptable.

No statement of result is allowed. It must be original certificates.
Re: Authenticity Of Documents At Ministry Of Foreign Affairs, Abuja by Sanctecosma(m): 8:41am On Oct 21, 2021
Thanks for this. Same thing happened to me just few days ago, 18th Oct. 2021. But the question is, is it possible to authenticate degree certs only without transcripts. Let me know if I can go get my original degree cert instead of having my school send my transcript to MOE as demanded which will take time and money. Please your urgent advice will be greatly appreciated.
Ope4Christ:

The process is simple. Your certificates authentication must follow laid down rules.

In your situation you must authenticate NECO, ND and HND original certificates. Forget about Testimonials and Statement of Result, they are USELESS for admission or travel process. You will also go with a valid means of identification such as Passport, Driver Licence or Voter's Card. If you don't have any of it, go and get it before you travel to Abuja.

You can't bend the rules except you want to waste your time and money. They will not attend to you.
