Can't believe some dulll brains are blaming yahoo boys for the cost of clothes when dollar is currently at 560 this means a proper Denim worth $10 at wholesale will set you back #5600 excluding other expenses and $10 denim is not what you get in such boutiques. I mean it's an exact copy of a designer wear so you start at $30 at least.
Maad people, always placing their anger at the wrong place.

Very true!

Not only for businesses.. But also for other individuals!

House rent is now on the rise cos of these guys(they can pay millions for accommodation) and the greedy landlords expect all other tenants to pay up too(not minding the fact that people don't have the financial muscle to compete with G boys).

You made a more significant point. The rent has skyrocketed, wondering how salary earners cope

Yahoo boys are not really the cause of the soaring price of most commodities. Its inflation coupled with a very weak naira.

Most people also forget that there are silent yahoo boys also. The typical ones you see are noise makers. Most of them are empty vessels, they make the loudest noise.

There are some business like yahoo boys. Little or no noise, so coperate like the Italian mafia and if they even toast you pocahontas, you no go know say na dem.

Lol... This your moniker sef ‘Daum’... I sight you grin

Go around some good locations or ask those living around, these boiz can pay anyhow, so these landlords increase rents anyhow... If you are not okay with it, they prefer you leave, so they can have these G-boys pay them well.
They don't care who comes into the house with them, what they do... It's all about the money

Na the landlord be the yahoo for this situation,

I think in the UK, there's a fixed amount for house rents for certain house,so the landlord can't go above it

Hard working and honest guys are happy with your thread and comments.

It's not like many of those guys even make much money like that. It's just that they don't have sense, they're naive and irresponsible.

Many don't have family members they cater for. They don't have any plans for their future. They're engrossed in the euphoria of the moment. That's why they're worse than church rats when they go broke. They sell everything at a terrible price.

Yes, many Nigerian girls behave like slaves to those guys. They use them like rain water. That's why those guys think every woman is like their slaves.

It's good to see women like you speak up against this menace. We need more frontliners in the war against cybercrime. We honest Nigerians will continue to support you.

BTW, I saw your comment about contractors and how they spend money and go broke after each project. Lol. You're right to some extent but there's levels to the thing.

You are trying so hard to be offensive and I have told you not to mistake me for your sister. I don’t have yahoo boys in my circle. Except he disguises, I can’t think of what we would be doing or discussing together.

Water and oil doesn’t mix…

If it is about the money, which I LOVE, yahoo boys do not even rival some legit hardworking men. What exactly do yahoo boys buy for their green-wig-wearing-gfs? iPhone, organic cream and small handbags. Is that what you want to use and razzle a 43yrs old woman like me in 2021? Guy, behave well abeg.

Lets be realistic here, this article was written by a pained and jealous person yahoo boys never said you shouldn’t enjoy your little salary and every spot needs customers if them change music pattern nor be something that will make you stop going to your spot the food and drinks remain in same taste, my advice is be on yourself don’t go to the bar and be looking at people’s activities sit and enjoy your own little money and leave
what is dis one saying.forget food,so many times while strolling at Aba,I will just branch at a spot just to listen to the good music they are playing.

Even though i am not justifying them but they are the ones holding the economy
1. If u sell biulding materials, they are ur major customers
2. If u sell cars
3. If u sell electronics
4. If you sell clothes
5. If you sell lands
6. If you own a hotel
7. If you own a logistics business
8. The owners of Mtn, airtel
9. People selling fuels
10. People selling foodstuffs

In fact, if you are doing business in any way in nigeria, yahoo boys are your pillar

You are living in a different world.

So who were the people buying all these things before yahoo boys became popular?

Or you think say na only yahoo boys dey buy all the things you mentioned

Why?

All sorts of ritual money flows within its walls daily.

Of course I am older than them and not their spec- thankfully so!

What exactly would I be doing with younglings that wear pencil jeans, graphic tees, earrings and cross-bags. Guys that hop into their ES 330 and start blasting Zlatan and Naira Marley’s music while driving like retards. Guys that give themselves nicknames like Splash-Money and Izu-Wire-Wire. Guys that sleep knowing someone is crying, maybe dead because of their actions. Guys that spend their lives evading and settling law enforcement agencies.

You mean I should be angry that these sets of guys do not find me desirable? I do hope your partner uses protection to knack you. This level of shallowness can easily pass for an STI.

People stupid for this part of the world hence the prevalence of poverty, the worst part they are 100% ignorant of how most Yahoo boys make money online some just give stupid Nollywood fictional bullshit

Oya let us rationally and critically judge this scenerio and give verdict

A jobless broke boy downloads VPN, download 40 to 50 pictures of sexy Latina girl on a fresh Instagram page, and Facebook... He download an American phone number texting app and began commenting online with his Airtel free Facebook, while you are here commenting on Tonto dike Kpokpogri

Very soon he checks his inbox, and he sees friend request from 2 Indians with their dick pictures, and an American divorcee from Seattle Washington, he picks his Nokia tourch light phone, borrows credit and calls his elder brother who happens to be a pastor, to pray about this 3 names for favour

Long story short, he decided to chat and exchange pics with them for 3 days before asking for money and giftcard, they willingly send him $1500 USD for transport and hook up

With 600k in his account, he settles his mum and brother pays for data , then invite his friends that had been dashing him used cloths and sharing data with him, to follow him to a beer parlour Pocohantas and her civil servant boyfriend drinks their beer and peppered turkey

The boy buys red label and cranberry juice, with big BBQ fish and sauce since he knows more of his guys would soon fall in to do atenu after seeing WhatsApp Status

That is where I really blame the leaders at state and national level...

There should be laws in place to check such greed among land and home owners. There ought to be rent caps across the nation depending on building costs, taxes, etc...

No landlord should arbitrarily increase rent because criminals are interested in the house.

Before you can cap price of rent, you should cap price of cement, iron rod and other building materials. Can the government do that?

Aunty, no vex, but it's the gospel truth. I'm 28, have a decent job, earn around 250k a month. Getting a decent girl for a healthy relationship is hard, believe me I have tried. The ones you meet will expect you to compete with yahoo boys. Like I can comfortably take care of a woman, but I'm not going to buy a phone worth my 2 months salary, it makes zero sense to me.
At the end I'm labeled 'stingy'. The average Nigerian lady, expecially the Gen Z and millinials want to date fraudsters, that's the simple truth. They don't care how the money comes, as long as you can buy iPhone.

Years back yahoo wasn’t something people wanted to be associated with, in first person or third person sef. Now it has been normalized and in the long list of the justification for yahoo, there is this one that stands out- YAHOO BOYS HELP THE ECONOMY AND SMALL TO MEDIUM SCALE BUSINESS. This is supposed to make us appreciate them right? Interesting.

This post reeks of the wrong type of sentiment, the same shame them mentality EFFC is using on Instagram. The above mentioned business went wrong due to lack of proper mgt and nothing else.
