Just confront and tell him that you expected him to come and apologize for spoiling your TV since the past week, that you are shocked he never did. Ask him to explain why he didn't...

It was very wicked of your neighbour to damage your TV and not tell you about it.

On the other hand, why would you allow a person you know has a history of lying pathologically, to come into your home in your absence ?

For me, I'll advice you to confront him, let him know you are very sure it was the day he used your apartment it got damaged, but let it end there, don't expect him to fix or replace it

where the issue is now is that you didn't know immediately, you only knew few days after which he can outrightly deny but if you had known the same day or the day after it would be difficult for him to deny but after a week that's very very debatable because he can say madam J or even the ginamous rats for your apartment fit wan move the TV thru the ceiling but their power no reach hence the breakage.

Sorry for what happened to you but I will advise you let us know the nature of damage and how long you bought this TV. I had similar experience with a smart TV I got not long ago, in my own case it is about lines on the screen. If I had not been regular at home, I would have conclude that someone mishandled it.
He may not be responsible for it. If there is no physical damage (broken parts or scratches) I find it difficult to believe that he is responsible for the damage. Take it to the seller if it's within warranty period.

Just ask him if anything happened to the tv d day he had party....meanwhile, u should move on, check if u can repair ....hope its not Samsung or curve tv cos d cost won't be friendly

I totally know that. Reason why I came here to know if anyone has a witty trick that will work.

I once travelled for 3 months and came back to a dead tv that was working perfectly before I left. No one had access to the apartment while I was away, and I remembered to disconnect power before I left..... So, how did it happen? Well, it was struck by thunder because it was still plugged in. I quietly fixed it. A million things could happen to appliances just like that, even at the point of you turning the tv on. My guess is, he may not be responsible for any damage done to your tv, just go about fixing it quietly.

Op your smart TV should have a warranty nau if you bought it new. So take it to the place you bought it to claim repairs under the warranty.

During the claim process, they will first assess whether it was damaged by an external factor e.g your friend, power surge etc, or whether the damage was follow-come. If they reject your warranty claim because of external impact, that means you have a solid case against your friend.

Yeah mine is displaying blue color with lines on the screen. If it was blue color alone I would think its something else but lines on the screen definitely shows impact of some sort. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Oga , let it slide. My Smart Samsung 47” was destroyed by lightning during an early morning rain. We were still in bed. It was not on when it happened. If we didn’t try putting it on same morning , we wouldn’t have traced the source of the fault. If I had left it till the evening, the kids would have taken the blame because they were on holiday.
Sir , anything could have happened to your tv. Hope it is an original product . You can’t prove he did it. It would be unfair to hang it on him because he used your room and he tells lies often.You never could tell how electronics develop fault.
