I stopped attending weddings of people I am not closely related to when during a wedding in 2019, I was not served food so I went to one of the servers as per guys na. He say make I bring plate come, I go wash plate by myself come.


This guy carry the plate serve another person come tell me say when the guy finish, he go serve me.


I reason say if I para, them go say shey na bcus of food. I just jejely go house, buy suya and prepare rice.


Anytime I remember that day, I go dey smile but the embarrassment still dey my mind.

If you invite me go wedding say "my friend is doing wedding, let's go", brother, I no follow you go.

Crieff:
If I should go to a wedding and they do that nonsense, I won't fight o. I will just order from Jumia Foods or any food co, they will deliver to the venue and I'll eat there. I hope I won't be given the opportunity to do that.

Well, no be like food food. Maybe a large pizza with a box of drumsticks and coke and I'll eat it on that table while all of them eat their rice with moimoi

Ordering for food weak me.

This event is typical of Naija weddings. Only you go call the girl make she bring food. Rice, salad, and a pinch of moimoi if available.

You don comot belt dey wait for food.

Hanty go return after one hour only for you to see her serving others.

“Na wa o, is it not this girl I told to bring me food? Hey, seeeeeee, yeah, you, please come. Shebi you came here and I told you what I would want to eat.”


“OH, I am so sorry. Salad finished.”

“You would have brought the rice and moimoi like that na.”

After another one hour...

“Seeeeee, hey... (Lowered voice and tried to be funny amid anger) you guys aren't seeing us in this place o. What about the food?”

“Oga, the truth is that meat has finished.”


“Just bring the rice like that and moimoi.”

E no go reach ten minutes she leaves, you go see girls carry plates of rice and big meat to go give some sets of people..



You: is it not meat I am seeing like this? But this girl said it has finished. (Immediately, you will see the nonsense girl coming out with an empty tray after serving one ugly nonsense).

You will na summon her with your hand to come ... maintaining a wicked grin.

I said you should put moimoi if available? What part of “if available” didn't you understand? (Your voice don dey change) No, I am not sad. I'm not sad. If there was no salad, bring the rice and moimoi, you refused.”

I stopped attending weddings since 2002, after an horrible experience with our class teachers wedding back then in j.s.s class, we were young & dumb then, our teacher invited us and also request we bring a gift, we contributed our lunch money to buy anty d best gift. we left early 2 d venue out of much eagerness & enthusiasm. Na we join boys hang tent, clean & arrange chairs, help caterers offload utensils from truck, e reach time 4 food na so dem ghost me &my guys we lobby sote' no show still, na so dem advice us make we wash plate if we wan chop, i remembered i washed two dozens of breakable plates b4 4 stop bt yet dem use plate wey we wash take serve other guest. Around 4pm wey we don nearly faint na im dem bring one cooler of jollof tell us say make we line up, you takf one spoon u go back to queue kind of!
After few months teaches get miscarriage e be like say dem prophesise give her come & see her begging & crying 4 class.
