Temitopepremium:

I suggest u try to book your coach earlier than the travelling date. I live in Swindon but school in London-Canary wharf to be precise and I spend just £10 for return.

Hello people! Please who has gotten IHS refund on this forum? What does the underlined statement mean? Does it mean the applicant that was refused gets a full refund and the main applicant who has a dependent gets a partial refund too?
Thank you.
@justwise

Basically if your visa is approved but dependant visa is refused then you will only get a refund for the dependant, but if all of you got refused then you will get full refund.

Thank you
We hope to use Form A UBA for payment.
And pls do we have deadline to pay the first deposit?

You can use the form A to pay deposit but not for the POF.

The earlier the better as January is a short period for all the visa processing

Pls, Can I used my stamped entry clearance to apply for visa for my dependants? I don't hv my BRP yet, cos I just got into UK and on quarantine.

Will it be alright if I use my stamped entry clearance (visa vignette) since my BRP isn't yet available to me?

This argument is a yearly thing here, those who are planning to use untouchable loan to get a visa then come here with little or no money will get angry as they are doing now but you know what? Since 2009 when this thread started i'm yet to see any one of them come back here to say they have succeeded in studying and working to pay school fees, no jack has done that, soon one will open a thread to cry how the UK take your money and you get no job, they are racist bla bla bla.

All this fighting talk ends when they get to the UK and face reality, then they start looking for ways to stay back, claim to be gay, suddenly God has called them to become a pastor, marry their granny age mate here to stay, sham marriage etc.

When you pay thousands to the school and did not come with the money to survive here then you are not smart or intelligent

Honestly, there is no one size fits all. I strongly believe that what works for Mr A might not work for Mr B. Just know what works for you and you will be fine. The general truth is that Masters in the UK is quite expensive and also is considered a full time job. There is a lot of reading and researching to the done, and that their plagiarism software will frustrate anyone.

I remember when i started discussing this waka with a sibling who has been living in the UK for more than 10years, the greatest fear was "how will you complete your fees?" This is someone living in that system so there was no need to argue. It is not easy working and studying and that's simple. Let no one deceive you. Have you asked anyone living in the UK to borrow you £3k before, when they said they dont have do you think they are lying? We are talking of people who have full right to work oh, not to talk of you, who has just 20hr/week. Lets keep deceiving ourselves. Seeing is believing las las. But na the story we hear we know.I intend to pay 50% of my fees before leaving (the fees which is due next month self), just so as to have a soft landing. It is the school fees balance that is creating that depression and confusion. School never send you mail sha, e go be like say you thief their money. UK universities dont joke with that tuition, abeg no use am play with them. Lemme burst your bubble here, when you default they will yank you off the school network and simply contact Home Office / UKVI. There are so many people who started the Masters but coudnt complete it. Do not forget your POF says that you are super rich.

I know many cant afford it, but just know that it wont be easy for at least the first few months especially when first deposit is due. And please do away with any Nigerian mentality, it just wont work. We are going to face a new system and a new culture. One output will be an input to the next, if you miss one, it will take you a long time to correct it.

So many people didnt even research about the school they are going to, nor the course they are choosing, they simply chose the one that will easily give CAS, not in London with cheap tuition, i bet you some didn't read the course content, nor modules. That is where the problem starts from, you will struggle from the beginning to the end and then come here to tell us that the educational system is hard. Oga you are the idiot(no offense). You think this people will give you their certificate for you to come and embarrass them later. Mtchew. In the few online courses that i have joined, there were some students for resits and yes, they paid for those courses again. Some are going for something entirely different from their first degree, they never for one day researched the new degree; well they are Nigerians and they will find a way around it, good luck.

I know some just wan japa (who school help). I totally get it, but please remember that these guys have a system and they review their immigration laws every now and then. The best you can do for your self and the next generation going is to at least finish that course, try even if its hard please do. With a UK degree, they themselves will give you that respect. Plus your chances of trying other European countries are high. Lets not make life hard for the next set, they will simply suffer for the consequences. Do you you know that some countries dont need POF for their Masters, i bet our forerunners don go shit for church and we are suffering it now, who knows what rules we ourselves will make them put.

The cost of living in the UK is high, they simply have a system that works. Abeg no carry that useless HUSTLING MENTALITY go there, if you are that good at it why didnt you make it here. I hate when people have that mindset they can beat the system. It pisses me off when people argue it even in public. We keep rubbing our name and country in the mud thinking that we are smart, where has it gotten us to. You will suffer for everything because you are black/Nigerian. They will single you out and give you the most inhumane treatment simply because someone from your country beat their system the last time. Oga just get out.

Abeg try and have a least money to cater for 3 months, na you need and not anyone. Na you go suffer am if things so south. Do you know when the pressure comes; you just land, you never settle, you never see the plenty jobs self and then boom, your first deposit is due. You will be in between rent and school fees. E no easy abeg.

With discipline and a strong work/life balance, you will survive. There are 24hrs in a day, if you divide it well and follow it strictly, you will succeed. That 2 years PSW is the koko oh, do whatever you can to get it, if you loose na you loose oh, plus the money you don waste. Lets not talk about the things people do to retain their stay, that will be topic for another day.

My two cents. tongue

100% correct!
danex:
Take note I did not say it was gonna be easy I only said it is possible. Trust me I have juggled really difficult things in my life while studying I am not afraid of challenges anymore. "Where there is will there is a way". Let's stay positive guys.

Plus studying in the UK is same whether online or offline. It's just a series of papers, workshops, presentations and seminars. You must be prepared to do a lot of research and writing. If you manage your time properly you can succeed.

Additionally choosing a course of study where you have strength can give you a head start. But choosing a course you know nothing about sets u at a disadvantage already.

Just my 2cents.

Good day house.

Please house, I need your advice.

I am currently running a program for Professional marine certification and studied online with the plan to sit for the exams in the UK as that’s the only place it can be written. Because I opted to study it remotely due to my job, the school did not issue a CAS and asked that I apply for a visit visa since I am only meant to sit for examinations. I accepted and applied the first time and was refused. There was only one reason stated and it was because they didn’t understand my payslips. I reapplied again and carefully explained in a cover letter and even explained everything else I felt might be an issue. Again, I was refused and this time, it was a totally different issue with same set of documents i submitted in first application and I had explained fully everything I felt might be an issue. I really didn’t know how else I could have proven my statements other than my explanations and proof I presented.
The second refusal was in August and I have to endeavor to finish my program. I was advised by the institution to follow the study visa route.
My questions are
1. I am planning to put in an application by February, which is in 6 months time. Is that enough or should I wait further?
2. In the proof of funds I submitted in my first 2 applications, I actually didn’t have much as I had invested in stocks and cryptos which weren’t accepted as POF for visit visa. Is it fine if just after 6 months, I am able to raise almost 10,000 pounds as POF ? Although I can get this by liquidating my assets. I hope it doesn’t raise any eyebrows.
3. Do I need to write a cover letter explaining the first 2 visit visa refusals or just stick to stating the reasons for my next application?

Thank you

If you had difer the admission when they made you and offer, you can go ahead to fulfill other requirements and request for your CAS. However, if you did not respond to their offer then, you will have to apply for January intake .

I accepted the offer immediately I got the email (back then) but I couldn't follow up because of financial reasons (as I said). Will just sending them an email asking to be granted the same course be enough or I need to go through reapplying? Thanks

Kollyman:

Biko!

Let someone respond to this enquiry

No, you must meet the below conditions. I will advise you put in for 1 yr pgd and move to master degree or do a pre-master of 6 months together with the master of 1 yr
You usually must have one of the following to apply:

a UK bachelor’s degree
a UK master’s degree
a UK PhD or doctorate
You can also apply if you completed any of the following:

a law conversion course approved by the Solicitors Regulation Authority
the Legal Practice Course in England and Wales, the Solicitors Course in Northern Ireland, or a Diploma in Professional Legal Practice in Scotland
the Bar Practice Course in England and Wales, or the Bar Course in Northern Ireland
a foundation programme in medicine or dentistry
a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)
a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE)
You may also be able to apply if passing your course made you eligible for a job that’s regulated by UK law or a UK public authority. Your education provider can tell you if your course is eligible. The below on https://warwick.ac.uk/study/international/immigration/othervisas/graduate_route_work_visa/ can give u more idea and detail.

You will meet the qualification requirement if you have successfully completed a course of study for which you have been or will be awarded a UK Bachelor’s degree, a UK post graduate degree (Master's or Doctorate degree), or successfully completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) or Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE).

If the name of your course of study was changed by the Student sponsor, but the course content remained the same, or if an integral and assessed work placement or permitted study abroad programme was added, this will not prevent you from being able to meet the qualification requirement.
The qualification must have been gained during the last grant of permission to study as a Student, or in the period of permission immediately before your last grant of permission, if the last grant of permission was to undertake a role as a Student Union Sabbatical Officer.

You will not be eligible to apply if you are awarded a lower qualification, unless the lower qualification is a full degree (e.g. a Bachelors Degree). E.g. you will not be eligible if you exit with a PG Cert, PG Diploma or PG Award upon course completion.
