I used to remember when extreme rules was extreme!! see how the crowd were baying for a table all through the night.

By the way, Reigns kicking a55/getting his a55 kicked wearing a mask was funny then they decided to go with shenanigans at the end.

WWE RAW REVIEWS RECAPS AND REACTIONS

Big Poppa
I love an overarching thread with multiple twists, turns, and a logical conclusion. Monday Night Raw set it off this week with a match pitting WWE Champion Big E vs Bobby Lashley. Lashley truly believes E can’t beat him, which explains all the rationalization he’s done since the All Mighty added “former WWE Champion” to his resume. Their opening match, which was ill in all the right ways, showcased a dominant Lashley and the reinstatement of the Hurt Business.
Yes, ladies and gents, the Hurt Business is apparently back in business. Once Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander made their presence known, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kington stepped in. A brawl ensued, a DQ was handed out, and it was the best kind of chaos. Adam Pearce, clearly not a fan of anything he saw, said the match would continue later tonight in a steel cage. No Hurt Business, no New Day. Just Lashley x E trapped in twisted steel.
These two cats didn’t disappoint.
Besides the brutality of the match, it was the clear desperation both men showed. Bobby Lashley needed to beat E to prove his point. Before the bell rang, got all of the upper hands on the champ. Lashley didn’t want to leave anything to chance and wanted every advantage he could muster. If that meant tossing E around the floor before the match officially started, then so be it. If that meant calling the Hurt Business down to do business, that’s cool too.
E needed to beat the All Mighty to shut him and anyone else up who believes he’s not a legitimate champion. Despite the pre-match ass whooping, E lit Lashley up like a pinball machine once the bell rang. He used the cage to his advantage every now and then, but he wanted to overpower the man. It wasn’t just about proving he was the better man; E needed to prove he was the stronger man.
In every good or great wrestling match, a character flaw is shown and exploited. Early in the match, we got ours from Lashley. Rather than continue to go for pin attempts, Lashley tried climbing out. Corey Graves, a man who should make it his business to be Flava Flav to Lashley’s Chuck D, said Bobby wants to win the title in dramatic fashion.
Bobby’s ego didn’t allow him to just take the W when it was right there; he had to showboat and continue his pattern of habitual line stepping. E stopped him from getting out and tried to do a Big Ending from the top rope, but alas, it wasn’t meant to be.

Not yet anyway.
We even got a tease of a Hurt Business x New Day feud I’m dying to see. When Shelton and Cedric interfered to stop the champ from climbing out, Woods and Kofi represented as they should. Woods, in particular, looked like a man who needs a belt around his waist when he slammed the cage door on Bobby Lashley’s head, and superkicked Cedric back to Main Event. No diss to the man or Main Event, but yeah, you get the point.
Once the four men were finally in the locker room, E and Lashley continued their war. That desperation I mentioned showed up again as both men had chances to walk out of the gate. When Lashley tried to walk out, E grabbed his arm as many times as possible. When E looked ready to saunter out, Lashley grabbed his ankle.
They were literally holding on for dear life because the title, and beating each other, means that much to them. Neither man wanted to stay down and neither could stay down. E survived a spear and a spine buster, while Lashley survived multiple suplexes and a Big Ending.
But when the challenger had the champion in a precarious position, his fatal flaw reared its ugly head again. Rather than walk out the gate or go for a pinfall, he once again decided to climb out of the ring, apparently learning nothing from earlier. E caught him again and this time, he nailed the Big Ending from the top rope.
1-2-3.
While basking in the moment, a familiar tune blasted out of the arena speakers and Drew McIntyre, sword in hand, made his intentions known to the champ. We didn’t get a fight—and still no swordplay—but it’s clear Drew Mac wants a fight and E is ready to give it to him.
I hope this isn’t the last tango the Hurt Business and New Day do, but this was a fantastic story and match. In just a few weeks, E and Bobby told a succinct story with a logical conclusion. Well done, boys.

Priest x Sheamus Get Extreme
I didn’t think they’d get me. After seeing Sheamus and Damian Priest go blow for blow over the United States Championship for several weeks, I got it. Priest is better than Sheamus right now. How many times can they tell the same story?
Well, it’s a good thing I didn’t put money on that because the extreme rules stipulation was the proper escalation of a feud built on physicality. As usual with most matches like this in WWE these days, they start out wrestling until one guy realizes they can use kendo sticks, chairs, and whatever plunder they can find. Chekov’s table made an early appearance thanks to the champ, and he suffered a White Noise for his troubles. In fact, with Sheamus’ history as a brawler, one might think this was the perfect match for him to finally best the Infamous one and snatch back the gold. Right?
Yeah, about that. We’ve seen Priest outsmart Sheamus in their previous matches. Even last night, he was just quicker to the draw than the Celtic Warrior. This week, Priest showed he’s the better man physically as well. He survived Sheamus’ best shots, and, in my favorite spot of the night, threw a chair at the man’s face to counter a Brogue Kick.
Ultimately, Sheamus met his...reckoning...after going through a table in the corner of the ring, and then taking a Reckoning.
This should be the last gasp in this feud. The draft is Friday, and these two have fought each other enough. Damian needs more challengers, and Sheamus might benefit from a change of scenery. Good ending to a story that went a long way in making Damian a legit tough cat and not someone you want to mess with.

The rest
Words from Goldberg’s Garage
Goldberg doesn’t know what kind of a papa Bobby Lashley is. Clearly, Lashley isn’t the type to have a painting of his arm and his baby clinging to said arm on his wall. But that aside, Goldberg wants to fulfill a promise he made to his wife and his son to always protect the latter, at all costs. If he’s lucky, he’ll get to kill Lashley.
This is a good story because its relatable and understandable. Lashley hurt Goldberg’s son, Goldberg wants his pound of flesh. And you know what? I hope he gets it. Goldberg’s never been the best promo but that worked because it felt real and I’m riding with the old man.

Finally Phenomenal
AJ Styles can pretty much do anything he wants in a wrestling ring with anyone he chooses to do it with. Styles and Riddle put on a dope television match that, at times, looked like someone was legitimately hurt. From a story standpoint, he needed this W. AJ’s racked up several Ls over several weeks, and looked anything but phenomenal. That changed this week and it was beautiful to watch.

Charlotte Has no Time for This Either
Charlotte Flair wasted an open challenge on Doudrop because, duh, Eva Marie isn’t finished with her former “friend” yet. Anyone who knows wrestling saw this coming from 25 miles away, so it’s not shocking. However, it is disappointing because there’s no end in sight to this thing between Doudrop and Eva plus it ruins her first title match. No one was served well here, so consider it a swing and a miss.
And yet..
Raw moves fast. Remember when I said it looks like we’re still doing this thing with Eva and Doudrop? Like I just said it? Scratch that. Eva got on the mic and said she should be Raw’s champion of women. What’s more, she believes she can beat any woman in locker room. This brought out an angry Shayna Baszler, who did to Eva the same thing she did to Nia Jax last week. I guess WWE thought Shayna would get booed for this?

Handsome Finish
Angel Garza x Erik danced for a bit as a breather after the hot opening segment. It was a glorified squash as Garza got the W.

Reggie Lives to Fight Another Day
Silly me for thinking Richochet was getting a real chance to get some gold around his waist. Instead of a match filled with cats getting higher than a giraffe, we only got a taste of that until R-Truth, Drake Maverick, and friends interfered. Wherever this ride is going, I want off.

That’s no Bear, That’s a BearCAT
Tozawa, fresh off another 24-7 embarrassment, demanded a match with anyone. Out came the newly minted Keith “Bearcat” Lee. This is obviously a reboot for the former limitless one. And he looks good. He looks like someone I need to take seriously. But Bearcat? Really? I guess if you’re going to debut that nickname, Cincinnati is the right place. If only Lee wasn’t from Texas.

Matching Capes
Nikki A.S.H. wants matching capes for Super Brutality. Rhea Ripley isn’t convinced.

Six Man Chaos
Jeff Hardy, Mansoor, & Mustafa Ali vs. Jinder Mahal, Shanky, & Veer battled in the ongoing saga of Jeff Hardy wandering from position to position on Monday nights. This was a quick hitter that didn’t last long enough to get good or bad. Jinder and the boys got the W as the holding pattern before the draft continues.

He’s the Commanding Officer Now
Another squash/holding pattern match between Karrion Kross and Jaxson Ryker. They’re building Kross as a dominant super shredder, one who even poked fun at Ryker’s military service. It was a nice touch and added personality to a guy who needs as much as he can to overcome that look.

Raw was good this week. The show moved at a good clip, was bookended by two dope matches that told one long story, and was mostly entertaining in the middle. While a lot of it was a holding pattern because things change Friday and next Monday, it was a good sendoff for Raw as we know it.

WWE NXT REVIEWS RECAPS AND REACTIONS

Let’s talk NXT!

Raquel Stands Alone
Raquel González is a solo act now. She knew that going into her championship defense against Franky Monet, who walks to the ring with Robert Stone and Jessi Kamea not far behind. Her choice to get her Batista on and “walk alone” makes sense going up against these three because they’re sold as more of a comedy act than actual threats.
But what if it came back to bite her?
Raquel and Franky put on a good championship match, with the challenger surprising me and showing she was formidable. This isn’t saying the champ was ever in real jeopardy of losing, but Franky showed enough to make me wonder why she even went to NXT. Franky is ready for primetime, so hopefully the draft gets her there.
The match’s ending came out of nowhere for me, but there were timing and pacing issues all night with the show. Of course, it was also to set up the true ending.
With Franky and her crew vanquished, Raquel quickly found out her next challenger is Mandy Rose 2.0. Mandy and the rest of Toxic Attraction jumped Franky, Robert, and Jessi, then cornered the champ in the ring. Raquel, knowing exactly what was about to happen, threw the first punch. Great idea, but she didn’t throw the last one.
As the show ended, Rose got her hands on the Women’s championship and raised it high in the air. Earlier in the evening, she told the champ that the belt would look better on her. And you know what? I agree.

Not Toxic Enough
Toxic Attraction (Gigi Dolin x Jayce Jayne) got their shot at the NXT Women’s Tag titles this week. Would Io Sharai x Zoey Stark get along long enough to defend?
Yeah, turns out they could.
I wish I liked this match more than I do. In the end, the champs took all the toxic they could handle and survived to tell the tale. Their experience triumphed over any momentum the challengers had going in.
The decision to keep the belts on the champs doesn’t quite make sense. The tag titles around the waists of Io and Zoey feel stuck. Toxic Attraction got a big promo last week and were heavily featured. Why not give them the titles and let them run with it? Io is ready for the “main roster” and we’ve reached the storyline conclusion of this story of two champs who aren’t friends but great business partners. As the French say, “le boo.”

The rest
Indi & Dexter’s Honeymoon in Miami
This week, we were treated to two segments of the honeymoon to end all honeymoons. And I was...bored. Which is weird, because I normally love everything they do with Indi and Dexter. The problem is we’re hitting the same beats: Indi and Dexter doing things adults do, while Johnny plots to keep them both away from each other. It was funny when they were dating, but now that they’re married, it’s kinda sad.
Also, not for nothing, but we need to hit another gear with this story rather than playing out the same beats. Just because it’s happening on a beach doesn’t make it different than when it happened at a restaurant several weeks ago.

Elektra Delivers Better than the Post Office
We kicked off the show with a No DQ match between Elektra Lopez x B-FAB. This round in the war between Hit Row and Legado Del Fantasma went to Ms. Lopez, as she was just more vicious than Hit Row’s First Lady. Lopez did a crossbody through a chair. If she didn’t win after that, then there is no God.
This match was a little stilted. Lopez and B-FAB are still a little rough around the edges and this was the best way to hide that.

Bron Breakker’s Steiner Math says He's Next
NXT escalated the obvious tension between Bron Breakker and Tommaso Ciampa. Breaker got a succinct video package showing off his character and telling everyone what his goal is: the NXT Championship.
Meanwhile, the champ FaceTimed with the commentators (and us) with Goldie in tow to say the Bron Breakker bandwagon (say that three times fast) needs to pump its brakes. Ciampa likes the kid but doesn’t think he’s ready.
We’ll see where this goes but with NXT’s new direction, Bron is getting Goldie sooner rather than later.

Roderick Strong Does it His Way
For the first time in a few weeks, Roderick Strong got a win without the Diamond Mine interfering. Seriously, they were right there at ringside and didn’t do a thing. Ironically, this was probably the time for them to interject because Grayson Waller, in his first match on NXT 2.0, gave Strong all the work he could handle. Roderick controlled most of the match, sure, but Strong’s burst of energy and risk-taking gave him the upper hand towards the end.
Sadly for the challenger, that just wasn’t enough to beat the vet.
Good match that showcased Waller’s talent and gave Strong a *ahem* strong win.

Kyle O’Reilly Has a New Friend
For a few weeks, Ridge Holland and Pete Dunne were gigantic thorns in the side of one Kyle O’Reilly. This week, Kyle finally got his chance to take on the man with WWE’s best hat. Kyle, doing what all wrestlers in grudge matches should do, attacked Holland before the bell rang.
Kyle’s pit bull energy stayed at 11 the entire match, even when Holland slowed the match down to exert his power. Holland had to know Kyle wouldn’t quit, but he persisted in trying the old ways.
Pete Dunne tried to interfere, but that provided Kyle the opening he needed to win with a rollup. Quicker than you can say “winner, winner,” Dunne and Holland went to work on Kyle, proving they’re the sorest of sore losers. Von Wagner came to Kyle’s rescue again, setting up the obvious tag match between the four men in the future.

Xyon Quinn All Day, Everyday
This was a quick match establishing Quinn as a powerhouse who is proud of his Samoan heritage. Lorcan was a formidable challenge, but Quinn’s explosiveness was too much for him to handle.

You Down with MSK?
Everybody wants a piece of MSK. Just a short-ish segment where several teams, including Grizzled Young Veterans and Carmelo Hayes & Trick Williams, flirted with challenging the champs. Did they resolve their differences with a debate? Or calm like adults? Of course not. A brawl broke out with the promise of more to come. MSK wants to take on everybody and don’t care who gets first dibs.

Joe Gacy. Sigh...
This could be good. I just don’t trust WWE to do this type of character in a thoughtful and nuanced way. Instead, they’ll just make fun of people who think like this rather than inverting the personality and showing the sinister side of Gacy’s particular brand of millennial progressiveness. Sigh.

Long Lashes
Lash Legend debuted her talk show, “Lashing Out with Lash Legend.” I love the idea and the presentation was different. I figured we’d get a wrestling talk show but no, we got an actual talk show. Well, a faux actual talk show. The best part, even though it was a reach, was Lash using a story about the upcoming draft to talk about her college basketball success and brief WNBA career.
Lash is a different character for WWE, and perfect for NXT 2.0. If she can keep doing this and really find her footing, it might be a must-see segment. As it stands now, it was a good break in a show that’s very paint-by-numbers,

Wrestling in a Sweater Never Helps
Boa FINALLY got a W. And he needed it because Mei Ying was probably going to kill him if kept taking home Ls. Andre Chase, coming off of last week’s hilarious segment, couldn’t do anything against whatever was in the smoke Ying blew in his face.

A quick entertaining match that got Ying out of the dog house and continued Chase’s streak of having so much bark and the bite of someone with dentures.

Going to keep it all the way real with you, people: this was a boring show. There were moments that got my attention, but I found myself mentally drifting for most of it. We got several backstage segments and more character vignettes, which are necessary. And good things to do because we need to establish these characters. But none of it, including most of the matches tonight, had a sense of urgency. This was a stilted and disjointed show from the start, and just wasn’t fun to watch.

WWE SMACKDOWN REVIEWS RECAPS AND REACTIONS

Drafts
It’s always difficult to judge shows like this because they function as news events more than they do legitimate attempts at a cohesive episode of television. There were four separate times throughout the night that Sonya Deville and Adam Pearce took the stage to give us four draft picks, two for Raw and two for SmackDown. It breaks the natural flow of things to do that.
But you more or less have to tune in because you can’t miss the big news dropping with each of those segments.
A major issue, however, is the way WWE fails so spectacularly with adequately explaining pretty much every part of its draft process. Hours before the show went on the air, we got a brief explainer video on social media that didn’t really tell us much of anything at all.
We were told only half the roster would be eligible to be drafted on this show, and the other half on Raw next week. But we were never told what wrestlers were included on either list, which created a disconnect with quite literally every pick. For instance, if Bianca Belair is being drafted to Raw just after Charlotte Flair was picked by SmackDown, it helps to understand that at least part of the reason for that is because Becky Lynch wasn’t eligible to be drafted on this show. But we couldn’t know that because they never said that.
That goes for the free agent pool as well.
This probably has something to do with the writing process within the company and it’s a big reason these shows have long struggled to maintain any kind of continuity and depth of storytelling. Sure, we got drafting done to SHAKE THINGS UP AGAIN but why was Finn Balor, who just challenged for the Universal championship days ago and lost under strange circumstances, never once mentioned on the broadcast? Is he eligible to be drafted next week? Or is he a free agent now?
I suppose we’ll have to stay tuned. Which is maybe the point, at least to some degree, but this is a tremendously crappy way of executing that.

Bullet point ‘em all
Yes, I’m going to bullet point the rest of the show because that was the nature of the show itself.

--Paul Heyman remains the most intriguing part of this Roman Reigns-Brock Lesnar storyline, with the latter once again sowing distrust within the former by calling Paul his “good friend” and making like Heyman is doing business with him on the side. Reigns is getting increasingly fed up with Heyman but there’s absolutely an undertone here that part of that is Roman’s own inability to match up with Brock and his needing a target to unleash his frustration over as much. If The Usos aren’t drafted to SmackDown next week on Raw, they’ve been instructed to put Heyman in the dirt. Intrigue!
I will say, every single time Lesnar and Reigns come face-to-face, they create that big fight feel and it’s fantastic every time.

--Charlotte Flair is every bit at the level of Becky Lynch, and that was made clear to me when she stood tall to close this show having laid out Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair after their predictably good main event match. Flair’s dismissal of Lynch as she held her title up while Becky did the same ringside was outstanding and I’m not the least bit upset at the idea that Lynch could move to Raw with Flair running things on SmackDown.

--Home invasion angles are pretty much always awful, dating back to Brian Pillman pulling a pistol on Steve Austin back in 1996, and Seth Rollins showing up at Edge’s house was no different. It was an incredibly tame ordeal this time, where he just sort of hung out at Edge’s supposed place of residence, enraging Edge, who actually did show up to SmackDown like he said he would, and forcing him to call his wife to tell her not to go home while informing us he called a couple guys to handle it. The problem, of course, is they never went back to this. It just ended on that note. A WWE cameraman followed Rollins and made sure to shoot him as professionally as possible while Rollins broke into another wrestler’s home and disparaged the paintings of said wrestler’s children. It was stupid, which sucks because everything else they’ve been doing has been tremendous. Also stupid: Edge, who was taken out on a stretcher and made like his career could have been ended by that Stomp that was played so powerfully weeks ago, was completely fine. Sure, he said he wasn’t cleared but there was no sign at all that he was ever hurt to begin with. Bad story beats all around here.

--I can’t quite decide if Madcap Moss is a tremendous name or hilariously bad. It’s entirely possible it’s supposed to be bad, considering everything the character is and represents. I’ll say this — he’s already doing one hell of a great job being an annoyance that is making me actively dislike Happy Corbin even more than I did before. Kevin Owens losing and being booked this way is probably going to make some folks read too much into it, but even he is doing a good job of getting the heel act over. We’ll see where this goes.

--Carmella stopped her match against Liv Morgan to put on a weird mask, fans chanted she looked stupid, she laid out Morgan in the ring before taking it off to run her mouth, and that was the entire segment. This was in keeping with the story they’ve been telling but it was dumb and did no one any favors.

--There was an eight-man tag team match that saw The New Day squatting up with The Street Profits to fend off The Dirty Dawgs and Alpha Academy. There isn’t much of anything to say about this from a narrative perspective, it was just a fun TV tag match. Nothing wrong with that!

That was the show. There were good things about it but it wasn’t very good overall

WWE RAW REVIEWS RECAPS AND REACTIONS

Becky Lynch to Raw makes sense with Charlotte Flair going to SmackDown. The Street Profits moving to Monday’s makes sense as well, as does Finn Balor after the debacle that was Extreme Rules.
But I'm throwing a flag on the play for what happened with the Uso’s. Not saying they should move to Monday, but what I am saying is WWE dropped the ball on one of the main stories going into the second night of the draft. After Roman Reigns made it crystal clear Paul’s debt to the piper would be astronomical if his cousins didn’t stay on SmackDown, I figured we were in for a night of tension.
The longer we went without knowing where Jimmy and Jey would land, the sweatier Paul Heyman’s forehead would get. Plus, Jimmy and Jey had orders to leave Paul for dead if he didn’t get results, something the advocate was unaware of last I checked.
But nah. WWE answered that question during the opening moments of the show, followed by a brief follow-up that reiterated their beef from Friday. Le boo.
WWE needs to change their draft format. As it stands, we get a lot of matches that don’t matter or rematches with no tension that have little or nothing to do with the drafting. It’s not hard to make a compelling show built around the draft; at least two sports leagues do it every year. WWE should give that a try because this ain’t it.

The Blueprint Stands Tall
The night opened with Raw’s first pick of the night, Becky Lynch, in the ring with Charlotte Flair and Bianca Belair. Becky wanted a piece of the Raw Women’s Champion, while Bianca wanted a piece of both of them. Belair turned her focus to Flair after some very entertaining instigating on behalf of The Man.
Seriously, Becky was the most entertaining aspect of Raw this week. Whether it was opening the show or her commentary during Bianca and Charlotte’s main event match, she played her heel role to perfection. The woman even recited a poem. Becky’s character work remains top notch and is completely in-line with who she was before her hiatus but with a few more wrinkles.
Bianca and Charlotte started out a little rough as the two looked like they were on different pages. Eventually they found a rhythm and the match hit another gear. The match was filled with “flips” and “lifts” as they both tried to prove their athletic prowess reigned supreme.
Bianca managed to put Charlotte in the KOD. Alas, the W wasn’t meant to be since Becky interfered before the ref counted to three. Charlotte, smartly, high-tailed to the locker room while Becky issued a beatdown to the EST. And just when Becky thought it was safe to gloat, Sasha Banks—looking like a member of TLC—took out the champ and the former champ once again.
After putting Lynch in a Backstabber, Banks told the crowd she’s ready for Crown Jewel. With both of her challengers headed to Raw, Sasha is the favorite to win their Triple Threat championship match.
And I can’t wait to see it.

Big E x Big D x Big B (and DZ too)
I didn’t expect the Dirty Dawgs to make an appearance when Big E and Drew McIntyre had the most cordial and respectful competitive conversation in history. Drew Mac congratulated the WWE Champion man-to-man and shook his hand, followed by formally asking for a shot at the title.
Enter the Dirty Dawgs.
Maybe it’s me—and I’m writing this, so of course it’s me—but I liked Dolph inserting himself in this equation as the Ghost of Continuity Past. Dolph played an important role in both E and Drew’s careers. As he pointed out, both men played the role of his bodyguard and learned under his wing. Of course Dolph wants a thank you from both of them. Not saying he’s right, but I get it.
And it makes complete sense for his character. And with Dolph and Robert Roode aka Big Bob waiting on pins and needles for a landing spot, the former SmackDown Tag Champions needed something to do.
What ensued was an entertaining tag match between four pros who know how to do tag matches. It was fast paced, with Roode doing his best to prove he is indeed a step up from Drew O’Mac and Big E. While the winning team was never in question, whether Ziggler or Roode would take the pin was.
In the end, DZ caught a Claymore and looked at the house lights for three seconds. After the smoke cleared, Big E accepted Drew’s challenge and at Crown Jewel, these two will get it on.

The Rest
The All Mighty vs. The (Other) Man
Those of a certain age might remember when Goldberg’s nickname was “The Man.” Bobby Lashley remembers since he jabbed Bill for still dressing like it’s 1998. Lashley stipulated their match at Crown Jewel be no holds barred. Goldberg, no doubt excited for the new James Bond movie, reveled in this since it gives him a “license to kill.”
Goldberg said he plans to apologize to Lashley’s children after he leaves their father in the ring, on his back and gasping for air.
Goldberg survived a sneak attack by the rest of The Hurt Business while Lashley stared intensely.

New Day for the Street Profits
Speaking of The Hurt Business, Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin caught the short end of the stick. After Goldberg ran through both of them, the New Day had their go. Xavier Woods x Kofi Kingston barely broke a sweat. While it makes sense for the Hurt Biz to take an L based on what happened prior to the match, why not let them make it competitive? Or at least cheat? Cedric and Shelton just reinstated the Business of Hurt last week and they already look like chumps.

Rubbing salt in their wounds, the Street Profits came out to congratulate the New Day on their W and promote their new Netflix movie with the Undertaker. I like everyone involved but this was wack. They all deserved better and more.

B-Z-K for the W-I-N
You know how I know WWE’s writers Vince McMahon is out of touch? Nikki A.S.H. actually said “boom, zap, kapow” in reference to Super Brutality’s attacks. It’a almost like someone’s knowledge of superheroes comes from 1960s comics. This led to a rematch between the tag champs and Tamina x Natalya. A match we’ve seen before only shorter and never once did it seem like the champs would lose.

Chaos Theory
After Jeff Hardy and Damian Priest battled to a surprising finish with the latter countering the Swanton Bomb into a pin, Jeff was ready to say his goodbyes to Raw. Weird since he’ll still be there for another two weeks, but whatever. After promising to bring out another “ego” on Friday nights, Austin Theory made his way to the ring. Theory got his fanboy on, clamoring over Jeff and asking for a pic together.
What Theory didn’t say was he planned to attack Hardy, lay him out in the middle of the ring, and then take the pic. A nice set up for Theory’s main roster character—who is clearly sadistic—and gives Jeff something to do while we unnecessarily wait.

Rain On a Parade
If one checks their notes, one sees WWE’s repackaged Dana Brooke more times than most of us have fingers. Shayna Baszler doesn’t care which version of Brooke is in the ring with her, the results are the same. Dana takes a quick L and before she falls victim to the same fate as Nia Jax and Eva Marie, Doudrop comes to her rescue. I suppose Doudrop’s reasoning here is her dislike of bullies, but color me intrigued. Shayna didn’t want the smoke, which is a new look for her.

RKOmos
Randy Orton called out Omos. In reality, he wanted to take out AJ Styles before their tag match at Crown Jewel. Which is a fine strategy. Or it would be if Crown Jewel wasn’t two weeks away. One RKO isn’t going to put AJ on the shelf for two weeks or render him unable to compete in three weeks. Whew, WWE is going to tread water with a lot of these feuds for the next couple weeks, aren’t they?

Handsome for the W
Angel Garza x Humberto Carrillo made quick work of Ali x Mansoor. WWE needs to pull the trigger on this thing between Ali and his tag partner. We’re telling the same story —they’re not on the same page—for weeks now and there’s no end in sight. How many L’s do they need to stack before they progress?

Poor Tozawa
As if last week wasn’t enough, this week Tozawa caught a stunner at the hands of Kevin Owens. I still don’t get what we’re doing here. Especially going after another segment where Reggie did parkour, said peace to new Raw member Apollo Crews, and ran way to live another day.

This wasn’t a good show. Below average at best, with two matches worth mentioning and a bunch of meh in between.

Brock is free agent so could go to any brand. Depending on how the story goes. Those ladies are either injured or taking time off.
