PatrickOkunima: I can't remember in any of the IRCC regulations and manuals for Nigerian applications which states that applicants should've their living expenses in a GIC. The instruction was that applicants or sponsors should show proof of unenumbered funds in their various bank accounts. I would say that you guys are going way beyond the requirements by opening and depositing funds in GIC. This is not a requirement for Nigerians albeit rather for citizens of Indians, Brazil, Pakistan, China and other related countries with economic partnership agreement with the Canadian government. In a nutshell, having a GIC does not in anyway improves one's chances of getting approval. It will end in praise 7 Likes 1 Share |

Kenthro: Background check will be updated as completed same day you submitted your fingerprints for biometrics at the VAC. The review of eligibility is the last stage of the immigration process and is processed by the Senior Immigration Officer who makes the final decision/review on applicant's case. I think it’s a new trend , my colleague waited for a month after bvl . Choi, he was mentally exhausted, at a point we didn’t know how to console him . I waited for my family’s own for five days n I don’t wish that for anyone. You’d just be getting attacks when any mail drops. One thing for sure is that your PPR will drop when ircc message you. Just hang in there . Ketima: 1 Like |

Please visit the branch you made that payment. I wasn't aware of other charges when I paid last week. About 18k extra apart from the USD rate of 413. Just make sure the account is well funded so they can remove their hidden charges. Lianna2020: |

Frankrobbn1: It's just one way of showing proof of fund. You're right at the bold, but where full tuition is paid and GIC covers living expenses for the entire study duration, the VO will not have concerns that the funds may not be accessible.

Ypu just want to prove a point with GIC. It is not a requirement for Nigerian shikena. We probably do too much but at the same time we cant complain since we need to prove beyond reasonable doubt every decision we make on our application. PatrickOkunima: |

Ketima: I have also noticed the new development from other applicants concerning sending BVL without PPR. It is pertinent to note that IRCC officers are aware of the existence of platforms like Nairaland and other interconnected Canada visa forums. They know that people come to these platforms to seek advices on their application and share information about IRCC mode of operations, and as such this often leads to the frequent changes on IRCC working techniques and communications with clients in a bid to ensure that no one can fully comprehend the entire visa application process. The periodic changes often occurs towards the end of every year and its standard for IRCC immigration system. If you happen to find yourself in this situation, do not panic but be hopeful for a positive assessment. It will end in praise 12 Likes 1 Share |
