What is the help that you need?
Thanks.

Basically these are the schools i am interested in...
The schools with * * * have average fees which i am more interested in
(WAEC result for required courses)
C6 in English and Mathematics
B2 in Computer studies
B3 in physics
C5 in Biology

My questions is will i be required to submit any Standardized test if the school minimum requirement for English is C5 or better

And also what is the grading conversion for waec ?
Some of the schools require 60% on each course which i don’t understand and i have already booked an appointment with an advisor in each schools. But i need clarification as some deadlines are closer

So my journey started literally in February lmao. I had no idea i was going to school in Canada until my aunt in the US started pushing my dad to allow me. So long story short he agreed and i wrote ielts in april, got a 7.0 band. Then the process began.

Application Submitted - May 19th 2021
Biometrics- done since 2016 (I’ve had multiple canada visiting visas).

CONGRATULATIONS
Upfront medical - May 13th
Medical Passed - May 21st
Eligibility review - Never started
BVL - October 7th
PPR - October 7th

Documents submitted
All Required IMM forms
Admission letter and first year school fees payment proof.
Passport photograph
International passport showing my past Uk,US, Canada visiting visas.

My parents were my sponsors and my aunt in the UK was my co sponsor. She wrote me a letter of sponsorship saying she will take care of my living expenses for the two years I’ll be studying.

I submitted the following;

Father’s 6 months bank statement with a 2m naira balance
My mums 4 months salary account statement with literally 0.12 naira lol. But she had an inflow of about 60 million.
My mums letter of introduction from her bank stating I’m her son and she earns 18 million a year.
Her payslips
Her investments and shares
My dads promotion letters (works with immigration)
His id card
His payslips
His land documents
His investments and shares
His pension statement (9 million naira)
My aunt in the UK’s 1 year bank statement with a balance of 20,000 pounds
Letter of support for my living expenses from my aunt
My aunts UK passport and Drivers license
Pictures of my aunt and dad when they were little to show proof of relationship, birth certificate to show proof as well.

I sent my aunts proof of relationship documents through webform in august. I literally forgot to add them when I applied.

Affidavit of sponsorship (father and mother)
SOP
Police clearance
Birth certificate
Father’s birth certificate
Mother’s birth certificate
Siblings birth certificate (2)
My whole family’s passports showing their past visas.

I also renewed my passport in September and got my new letter of acceptance since I deferred to January. sent those through webform.

I literally gave up yesterday and sent an email to nairobi asking for an update. After I sent that email I vowed to never check my profile again lmao and here i am today.

Please guys don’t give up and thanks to all the gurus that gave me information.
I’m happy I found Nairaland and hope you all waiting for ppr will get it this week Amenn!!

I think the majority of your answers will he given by the schools in question.
First, most schools waive standardised english requirement for Nigerians and on their site, you will find the list of countries that qualify for waiver. However, if you do not see this, then ask the schools specifically on this. Some may give a particular grade for English from your Waec too. If they insist on standardised test, that would mean academics ielts. But ask them first to be sure.

2) Have you checked country specific requirement for Nigeria's Waec for each school? I do not think our Waec is graded as percentage really. It is CPGA I know that can be given in percentage. But if it is, the school will advise you on the body to use to evaluate it to have the percentage equivalent. I believe the country specific requirement will tell the minimum score for the required subjects in Waec. Some schools will say minimum of 4 ( C4) in some named subjects.
Since you already have booked the appointment with advisors, it is best to get first hand information from them.
Also while waiting for your appointment, you can send a mail to the international admission team for the ddifferent schools regarding any clarification you want, trust me they respond pretty quick and will address these concerns, so you can submit your application already before deadline. Oyibo can address your questions no matter how they are. If you do not get answers, rephrase them until you get the needed clarifications.

N.b- There is a lady here going for undergraduate course and I see you wrote her, have you tried to connect with her to see if she has answers regarding this Waec grading?

I wish you all the best!!!

Good day seniors, please I need your advice on the program of study in Canada. I have a BSc. and MSc. In chemistry. I have been teaching chemistry for about 6 years after graduating MSc. I wish to study in Canada, but unfortunately, my grades are not good enough for a Ph.D. I'm considering a program in chemical laboratory technology. The problem is that this program is not offered as pgd but as a diploma. Do you think this is a good option? I intend to explain in my statement of explanation that I have chosen this because it will equip me with the hands-on experiments needed to be a better science teacher as well as help me explore the practical aspect of chemistry and science in general as it comprises of some course that I have not studied such as microbiology, biochemistry. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated regarding my chance of getting the visa. Ps: teaching experience is abroad. Many thanks

Hello Elixosodi

For your 1st question, make sure you cover all areas and requirements of IRCC in your re=appliction.. I have seen many applicants get refused for POF in their first application and get refused again in their 2nd application for just Purpose of Visit...

This means the Visa Officers when working on a re-application, they check if the areas of concerns of the 1st refusal has been taken care of, if Yes, they check all other requirements to see if the applicant has also satisfied them in those areas... If the applicant have met all requirements, next is approval... Even though the applicant tackles the concern of POF in his/her previous application and doesn't convince in the aspect of Purpsoe of Visit, home tie e.t.c, the applicant will be refused for another reason in his/her re-application...

To your second question, just focus on the reason why you chose to study in your new DLI and also why you are studying the course, you do not need to much stories to bore the Visa officers, there are too many applications they handle on a daily basis...

State your convincing reasons for studying in the school you chose(Memorial University) and also why you want to study the course(M.A in Education)

Peace
Elixosodi:
Hello everyone,

I have questions to ask concerning my letter of explanation. I did my first application 24th of May 2021 and I got a refusal on September 15, 2021. The reason for my refusal is POF. However, I have been able to sort the POF issue.

My question, therefore, is when I am writing my letter of explanation, is it the reason for my refusal I will be addressing alone?

Secondly, I am changing my DLI from Saint Paul University to Memorial University also I am changing my course as well from M.A in Public Ethics to M.A in Education. However, both courses I chose due to the nature of my job which is teaching. I would like to know, do I have to explain the reason for the switch in my LOE or I should just state it and not explaining the reason for the switch.

Thank you as I await your response.

1. If you have a job that you are going to show them you will be returning to it's agreat option. Also emphasising on the love and kind of family you come from will dp justice of applicable to you. Also your age is another factor but whatever reason you come up with just make sure you are convincing enough and show documents where applicable.
2. If you are Self sponsored then you might have to show more than enough to be giving a study permit as gurus here have constantly mention. If you have a sponsor, preferable a family member, then you and your sponsor need to show 10,000 living expense for the first year and other miscellaneous expenses and your first year tution. You should also be able to explain in your SOP how the next year fees will be paid.
3. Payment of fees is good and having the rest is great but lots of people here have gotten their permit without paying any tution. So whatever you decide
back it up with prayers but payment of fees mostly help people to bypass the issue of finance refusal but with IRCCu never can tell so that G factor is very important.
4. Even without ielts brother u will get ur Visa. The ielts was basically a criteria for the Nigerian Student Express but since most of us if not all dont get the NSE
request again then..... u get the point
I wish u all d best.
Just be patient a little Gurrus in the house will come to your aid @makano @lekkiboboe1 @frankrobn1 and others u better go hold their legs grin I call them the IRCC rep on nairaland. They have solution to all these your problem. Go and hold their legs ooooo

You can send a mail to them, explain that you have done your medical and if possible mention that it has been sent by the clinic ( this is after you have confirmed from IOM that it has been sent ooo). Copy same email and send in the description box in webform to them. They will definitely update it.

My thinking is that IRCC doesn't update medical status until after their assessment, even if they get the result. How may I reach IRCC to inform that that I have conducted my health assessment so they can act on it?

In my opinion, state the reason for refusal and how you fixed it. I strongly suggest not changing your DLI. They had no problem with it before so they won't have a problem with it now. There's no reason to fix what's not broken. If you must, you can change DLI when you land in Canada.

My brother or sister, it is best to print both. They might not even ask you but if they ask you, you can give them. Although, it's better for the money to be in your account but the money can easily be sent to you in Canada anyways.
