I know that i'm saying after his tenure would have ended which if i'm not mistaken would have been in 1967 unless they had 5 year terms and i'm sure after his tenure as eastern region premier he would have moved on to prime minister or premier of Nigeria seeing as he built massive industrial zones in all states, built ports, increased efficiency of agriculture and gave it machinery and on top of that he develop federal mortgage schemes to make buying housing easier for people in the eastern region and as premier he likely would have introduced same to the whole nation between him and Awolowo I think they'd have been the best leaders for Nigeria

How do you know when the tenure will end since Nigeria ran parliamentary system of government? The party which won majority in the parliament will continue to rule and leader of the party shall head the emerging government. The above post draws me back to question I asked earlier than now if you belonged to this discuss.

The premier was still voted into power not necessarily his party and the way things were going support of NPC was reducing

I just have one correction nothing in the west worth copying at then free education is a fast way of remortgaging the future look how much western states are ridden in dept today

So the scandinavian countries are wrong for free education they're barely in debt and ask anyone who knows economics free education is a good investment and the debt that the west is in right now isn't due to free education it's completely unrelated

The British didn't fight any war to be free of the Romans they were freed when the Roman empire collapsed from the onslaught of the Germans and they didn't fight any war to be free of the Roman Catholic Church either they simply persecuted those who fought against the conversion of the state and in the first place the basis of the separation from the Roman Catholic church was stupid he just wanted a son and the church wouldn't allow him to divorce

It didn't kill any economy like you keep on trying to push it didn't even put the government in debt rather it attracted students from across Africa to come and study in Nigeria I don't see where you're getting this view that free education is detrimental to the economy when it really isn't it gives all the opportunity to learn from the top to the bottom without having to worry about school fees which can be very expensive for parents but continue with your stupidity

If you believe it is great if you ever have a chance at the top make education free and see the impact, education should be affordable not free, the cost of building universities are huge, nagative is negative, subsidy is bad economics same as free education,

The Difference is the autonomy, if there shall be autonomy for states or region the United Nigeria is worth a try

I really want to know if people still believe in one Nigeria because from want am hearing on the streets, I fear for the unity of Nigeria
Those who believe do for the sake of their selfish motives not for the sake of Nigeria.

Igboid:

As far as modern Igbo nationalism is concerned, Zik is a persona non grata! He was a shortsighted fellow.
There was enough evidence to show that NIGERIA was never going to work. There was Igbo massacres in 1954 and 1945 in the North.
The leaders of India and Pakistan were wise enough to recognize that Islam is irreconcilable with any other major civilization and pulled out from British India as fast as possible.
Zik blinded by pan Africanism from his days in USA could not see beyond the skin color of the Northerners and their race.
Zik never saw any reason why Ndiigbo shouldn't co-exist with Islamists in North and Yorubaland. A wise leader with insight would have seen the problems we are having today forehand and worked for Eastern region independence vigorously.
Zik like you was blinded by desire to be part of a larger country where he thought he was going to rule, just like I listen to empty Igbos who support Nigeria together talk about how NIGERIA is a big market Igbo traders can conquer, when it takes only one FG law to render all of you useless.
You never learn.

Nothing can be substituted with being 100% in charge of your own destiny.
Not having to carry others or have their own interests decide your own progress.

This is what Republic of Igboland will give us.
Dissect it anyway you like. Freedom and Liberty remains the foundation upon which prosperous and powerful nations are built on.
Igbos will only have this in BIAFRA, aka Republic of Igboland.

This post should be written in gold and set in stone

You should not be bothered by what becomes of independent states that may emerge from a collapsed Nigeria. Rather you should be worried and focused on your nation and how it could compete with other post-Nigeria new nations and become the best.

When Colonial India was divided into Pakistan and India, pakistanis' did not have sleeplessness night of what became of India and vice versa. Both citizens of both countries were more worried about the future of their country.

Nigerians like you who worry about what will become of other parts of Nigeria in the event of the end of Nigeria are trying to be more Catholic than the Pope.

Second, corruption is a global issue. China, Malaysia, Brazil, Thailand are some of the most corrupt countries in the world. Yet they more developed and industrialised than Nigeria which claim to be giant of Africa.

Abohboy:

Not every country is strucutred as an autonomous state of different people a country can only exist in such a manner if it's a federalist state England doesn't fit into your description at all there's no autonomous states that make up England and his point is right and is infact what I think will happen with these nation states slowly over time corruption will still be there and so will the rampant poverty so individual groups like Anioma, Aguleri, Ubani etc. Will breakaway and form their own individual nations but still there'll be no progress and I hope if it ever reaches that point they'd have learnt that ethnicity doesn't ensure progress

Did you just say that you want to educate the terrorists?

AlexBells:

I was the one that said Awo taking western education to the North was an attack on the caliphate, They wanted to Arrest Zik lol, I don't blame the North for seeming too powerful it is people like you that gives them so much imaginary power,

Stop your assumptions, let it come we are waiting in readiness, to send them back to Futa Jalon with the water of baptism

Who are they, people that was too down to rise when Nzeogwu struck, let's just forget this argument, you can chose to be a caward but like Zik I would always tell the caliphate that the East and indeed the Igbos had never been subjugated and unless they want to loose their throne they should count their blessings the Igbos are not like the Hausas and an Emir crown can look good on an Igbo

Having said that, the North would get education either by peace or by force, we would start from capturing their terrorists and forcefully educating them
