I have been battling with acne since I was 15. I have seen A dermatologist and they prescribed some drugs but I didn’t see any visible changes.

I have been adviced to stop using towel and sponge on my face as both caries a lot of bacteria but I’m still not satisfied. I use nivea.

If is there any soup or cream you can recommend I would be great full. I’m not fair in complexion and I’m a guy please don’t recommend any cream or soap that would bleach my skin Abeg. I’m dark I just want something to make my face clear. Thanks

It is either genetic or hormonal
Take more of antibiotics based on prescription and apply benzoyl peroxide on your face (can cause dryness on your face)

Yeah the dermatologist said since the towel and sponge are kept in the bathroom at all times they carry bacteria on them all the time. He even said I should stop keeping my brush there. No matter how clean these things are so far they are kept in the bathroom they have a lot of bacteria on them

Stress is also a factor.

if you stay indoor a lot,change your habit.

look up food that can cause acnes,reduce the intake of such.(eg oil based)

get rapid clear(face mask cream) if you can

lastly,its sometimes just a phase your body is passing through

I don't know about bacteria and the bathroom, but you can always store your towel and brush in another room if you feel that way.

When you followed up with your dermatologist after taking the drugs, what were you told?

Have you tried neo medrol

1. Keep your towel out of the bathroom.
2. Have a separate washcloth & towel for your face.
3. Use face cleansers separate from soap for your face. Wash your face at least twice a day.
4. Consider not using any cream or ointment on your face. Your skin may be too delicate.
5. If you're male, do not shave much. The beard hides the pimples and protects the skin. The blade is also rough and will create more pimples.
6. NUTRITION. Discuss with a dermatologist or/and nutritionist. Too much oil, peanuts, etc isn't good for ya.

How rough is the face? . Please don't upload any pic of it,so that our day will not end up being spoit . Just describe how it looks like,no worry,we go understand

Personally, a change of diet did the trick for me. Eat fruits and veggies, and drink lots of water. Also, I know a lady who switched to baby soaps and creams, you need to see her skin now. She said a dermatologist told her the chemical content of some adult products are harsh on the skin and cause some to breakout. Whereas, those for babies are mild.

See a dermatologist, it may be expensive. Have you gotten something from the nearest pharmaceutical store? I mean OTC meds and please avoid creams and skincare shops that just want to sell.

In fact you begin to see result (on the pimples and acne) in less than 10 secs of touching the soap on ur face wit water(I kid u not). It dries every atom of oil on ur face leaving ur face dry but one needs a little bit of oil secretion to keep a healthy moist facial skin. Moisturizer won't help and this is where the shea butter comes in. It is not the regular local shea butter but an antiseptic one that takes care of acne and pimples(I hav forgotten the brand name). These two combo are superb. I am talking from experience.

Go and book an appointment with a dermatologist. Whatever people ask you to use here might not work. I'd urge you to see your skin as a sentive organ. A pharmacy is only to give out prescribed medication, not to diagnose.

Don't indulge in self medication. Visit a clinic for the right test and prescription.

Thanks for the prompt response, but the dermatologist recommended 5% benzoyl peroxide but I noticed that oxy has 10% benzoyl peroxide
