Rohr's selection on this occasion is irrefutable proof that he does indeed not know what he's doing.

The experience of the home game against CAR and how the absence of a coherent midfield meant his team were consigned to lumping it from defence to attack for Osimhen to chase is still fresh in the memory.

That he could re-assemble a squad of 24 naming just 4 midfielders with 2 of them just recovering from injury is not only naive but irresponsible and the strongest evidence of his incompetence.

Sadly we are stuck with him until after the world cup if we make it.

Both of them are not better than Onuachu and Moses even at club level, particularly this season, not to talk of in SE.

This is the problem. At national team level there are better players. Club form does not transform to the national team every time. This is because if style of play. Onuachu fits a particular style of play we don't have in the national team and Simon switches off when playing for us.
We need players who play well for us and not just their club. They are different things. Some players simply don't fit into certain formations or play well in certain teams and Moses Simon and onuachu don't fit into our teams right now.
Look, if you study maurinho and guardiola well, they only go for players that fits into their style of play and not necessarily the best players. Club form is good but overrated. Samuel kalu seems to fit into our national team than Moses simon. Don't get carried away with club form. Club form only matters if you can translate it into the national team

The thing with sacking him now is that doing so will completely disorganise the team and further compromise whatever tiny hope we may have to achieve something in spite of Rohr. No real football organisation will sack thier manager in the same season they go into 2 major tournaments except in the most exceptional of circumstances.

How good a player is open to never ending debate.

But in selecting the best players, we should still be giving opportunity to those who are deserving in the HERE and NOW.

Your club form gets you noticed and that is the basis for national team selection. Can you transfer your club form to the national team is the next challenge.

Onuachu has been outstanding in the Belgium league 9 goals from 8 games is not to be laughed at. Yes the league is not the most competitive, 13th in Europe is not great.

Why has he not been able to use his obvious attributes. Very simple most of our wing backs and wingers simply cannot cross the ball to save their lives.

The problem is not Onuachu but the team not playing to his strengths.

Things doesn’t work this way

You might not rate Nwakaeme doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be sincere here ,rohr doesnr prefer Nwakaeme and there is nothing wrong on that

But you want Nwakaeme to perform on his debut while playing as a striker which is not his position ,you self check am

Judging him with 71 minutes was very wrong and to make it worst he played as a CF on that game ,how many of these players you mentioned played out of position on their debuts ,these are questions you should ask before concluding on anything

If I give you English brazillians Spanish players who had a rough debut but still made it with the national team you self go surprise

I guess rohr is pleasing you with better players ,how you see him list Baba ,are you still expecting anything good from this man bro’s ?

He's lucky to have 71 mins, you think this life is fair to everyone?

How many minutes did Esiti, Bonke played before they were tagged not good enough? Why can't you clamor for their call back too?

Kingsley Michael gave his all when given his chance.

Maja, Dessers, Kayode, Junior Ajayi, if you sum up their minutes together is not up to 71, yet no one is crying for their calling back.

When it comes to Rohr and his selections, that man is truly dense.

V. Moses and Ighalo were the twin pillars that individually pulled us through all those qualification groups of death for which we praise Rohr today. Those guys were creating goals from next to nothing most of the time. It was never any tactical brilliance on Rohr's part. This is why the team virtually fell apart immediately they retired. Rohr knows this and this is why he is desperate for them to come back. What he doesn't realize is that they have passed their prime and cannot repeat their 2017/18 heroics now. Christmas will not last forever.

Osimhen is not an Ighalo to create goals from nothing or to convert every single scrap of a chance that comes his way, he is a system striker, one who will score plenty only if fed the right balls, something that the SE can't offer at this point in time in the absence of midfield creators and creative wingers. It's up to Rohr to find a way to maximize Osimhen. Ighalo's Christmas will not last forever.
Many exaggerations here.

Creating goals from next to nothing? Who? Ighalo?
Team fell apart where? What did they play during pre WC friendlies even WC proper. Alaye!

If you can confidently alter history and reality like this I see why Rohr isn't part of your surnames

A thing can b disorganised only when is organised in d first place.
The team is not performing n there is no hope that things will get better under him.

Sometimes sacking of a coach works,somtimes it backfires.

NIG: Taiwo Awoniyi Has Had A Better Season Than 6 Of The Forwards Invited By Rohr; Check Their Stats
KUNOYnews

Fans have continued to react to the list of players invited by Gernot Rohr for the upcoming World Cup qualifier against Liberia and Cape Verde. Note that taking points of the squad list is Odion Ighalo's return to the team and Taiwo Awoniyi's surprising exclusion.

Photo Credit: Twitter

Well, a closer look at Taiwo Awoniyi's statistics this season shows that he has had a better season than 6 of the invited forwards. Therefore, this article will be comparing Taiwo Awoniyi's statistics to that of Odion Ighalo, Victor Osimhen, Chidera Ejuke, Samuel Chukwueze, Ahmed Musa, and Moses Simeon. Take a look!

HOW HAS TAIWO AWONIYI PERFORMED FOR UNION BERLIN?

Photo: Taiwo Awoniyi || Twitter

It must be stated that only three players have more goals than Taiwo Awoniyi in the German Bundesliga. The 24-year-old striker has scored 7 goals in the league and a total of 12 goals across all competitions. The prolific striker has become an important player for Union Berlin in Germany. For this reason, his exclusion from the list has been generating reactions on social media. Lastly, note that Awoniyi also has two assists this season.

HOW HAS IGHALO PERFORMED THIS SEASON WITH AL-SHABAB?

Photo: Odion Ighalo | Twitter

The 32-year-old striker has impressed in Saudi Arabia, but he has scored only 9 goals in the league. Note that Odion Ighalo was called-up by Gernot Rohr.

HOW HAS VICTOR OSIMHEN PERFORMED WITH NAPOLI THIS SEASON?

Photo: Victor Osimhen || Twitter

The 22-year-old has been in form this season, but he has scored just 9 goals for his club this season. Victor Osimhen has 5 goals in Serie A and another 4 goals in the Europa League. Note that he is yet to register an assist this season.

HOW HAS AHMED MUSA PERFORMED THIS SEASON WITH FATIH KARAGUMRUK?

Photo: Ahmed Musa || Getty Images

Note that the Super Eagles' Captain has managed to register only one goal and one assist in 10 Club appearances in Turkey.

HOW HAS SAMUEL CHUKWUEZE PERFORMED WITH VILLARREAL?

Photo: Samuel Chukwueze || Twitter

The forward just returned from a long-term injury, and he's yet to play a full game season. However, note that the 22-year-old has scored one goal this season.

HOW HAS MOSES SIMON PLAYED FOR NANTES THIS SEASON?

Photo: Moses Simon || Twitter

The 25-year-old forward has been an important member of the Nantes team and has played 12 league games this season. On the contrary, Simon has scored only one goal and provided 5 assists this season.

HOW HAS CHIDERA EJUKE PERFORMED FOR CSKA MOSCOW THIS SEASON?

Photo: Chidera Ejuke || Twitter

Ejuke is known for his dribbling abilities, but he has had a lesser goal involvement this season. The 23-year-old has been involved in only 6 goals this season. Note that he has had 4 goals and 2 assists for his club side.

In conclusion, note that only Paul Onuachu jas the same number of goals scored this season as Taiwo Awoniyi.

Thanks for reading this article.

What do you think about this post? Do you think Awoniyi deserved to be called up? Share your thoughts below.

Which goal has ighalo scored for Nigeria out of nothing ?, if its Victor moses I will agree. u see ighalo, the probability of disgracing himself is high. We are not qualifying for the World Cup. You better prepare yourself emotionally for what's to come cause it'll be massive shock to many. The ineptitude, myopia and incompetence that is currently plaguing this nation is eating into our football.
