She said she lost a job and may be looking. In the interim, give advice on how to manage the 4k or even on how to mildly approach the husband for a discussion for some sort of increment, without breaking her home considering that the husband himself could have been undone by this economy.

16k a month won't work.

If you make 1k a day, that is 30k extra.

You need to leverage your network. Keep your pride and ask for help. Ask your pastor, or brother.

You can get a sales job or something.

Believe you me she will discuss this with her female friends and you can bet most of them won't give her an answer that will be in the best interest of her family. Women talk about not wanting a 3rd party but they are the number one culprit for inviting 3rd party into their relationships.

you can't manage it at all. 4k is not even enough for weekly school snacks, not to talk of house feeding. May GOD have mercy. If you are a full time house wife, it is time to get something doing to bring in extra income.

Na you I won discuss with no be all these over Sabi women that are telling you your husband is this or that.
First of all, you need to consider his income, if you know he can comfortably afford more than that, then you need to be calculative to know when he is in good mood, then table your request politely, let him see reason with you.
I am saying this because you don't know what he is passing through to raise the 4k. Secondly if you allow people to push you to scatter your home, the court will not award more than 5000 for those kids upkeep for one month. If you don't believe me, ask any divorcee around you.

OP I know the costs of foodstuffs are relatively expensive these days but the question is? Did hubby give you 4k because that is all he could afford genuinely from his heart? Or he has more and has refused to give more thinking that you are lying as you said in your post.
Well, whatever the case just try to see how to manage and do the little you can to be a supportive wife.

I don't know if you can try this little suggestion of mine. Though it is dependent on the cost of things in the area where you live.
You can buy these things from a local market and try to see how well you can manage them
Sweet potatoes #500( these is quite cheap to and extent when compared to yam)
Groundnut oil #500.( for frying the potatoes).
You can buy 10 cups of local stone free rice which goes for 100-120 per cup =1000-1200
Make stew with tomatoes,pepper etc #500
Kpanla fish #300 or you can cut this by making "concotion rice" I.e oil rice with just crayfish and stuffs like that.
You can make vegetable soup with 500 by using small crayfish onoins etc just to have small soup at home.

Lastly, I will advice that you try to get something doing to support the home no matter how little it is.

Now, if the man drops dead today, how will the family feed? Life's not easy, but look for a way around your situation, maybe you could start up a petty business to augment what you receive on a weekly basis. Shalom

that's not even enough for most people in a single day. I honestly pray that God's blessings meet your husband cus he probably doesn't have much and it's not like he thinks you're a lier. I think you can start a small business just to supplement what you're getting.
