My fellow what drove you to go into the union of two is one. many reasons I can guess. some pressure. most pregnancy fear of wedlock. or was it true love or love of money the need for a financial umbrella over your head.

So what was your motive or drive.

Is there really a right or wrong motive/ reason as far as the union is concerned? undecided

So long as two people agree to said contract, whose business is it what there motive as a couple is? Is no crime is committed and they don't pose a nuisance to society, which one be your concern, @OP? undecided

you may have a point. no right or wrong but certain conditions push people into such union what I meant.

I dated my then girlfriend for five years. After her Nysc, we decided to get married and i was 27 at the time.

I had a good job and done with my studies as well.
I came from a strict religious home and she happened to be my first girlfriend.

First, i wanted my own home. I wanted to comeback to my home with my woman waiting for me.

Secondly, sexual tension was also a factor for a virgin like me at the time. I was full of curiosity. Lol

Thirdly, my wife was ready and wanted us to get married and we felt ready and good to go at the time.

Also, i was curious and wanted to see what my child would look like, would they be stubborn like me. Lol

My parents objected vehemently. Felt i was rushing into marriage and too young as four of my elder siblings were still single at the time.
Lots of other reasons which i couldn't remember and articulate right now.

Through this a lot of people would get to know the criteria to use in selecting who to marry, but When you are given different question papers in the exam, your answers must not be the same, understand this and have peace of mind

I am still in my mid twenties trying to establish myself. I don't see myself marrying anytime soon or else a miracle happens. I need to make solid wealth and be established before thinking about marriage.

For relocation purpose.
I was planning to leave Nigeria and a fellow doctor as a spouse would make the process easier for me.
I needed someone who has same plans,not dragging me back or distracting me.
