Man, how I missed THT |

birdman:No be everything about the Celtics you go debate with this level of distaste. Tatum was drafted in 2017 as the 3rd overall pick, show me another player who was drafted in the same year, especially in the 1st round that has achieved more than what Tatum has achieved thus far in the NBA! Show me please.. Here are some notable mentions; M. Fultz/ L. Ball/ Bam Adebayo/Josh Jackson/ D'Andre Fox/ J. Isaac/ D. Mitchell/ J. Collins/ J. Allen/ M. Monk/ Z. Collins/ D. Smith Jr/ F. Ntilikina/ K. Kuzma/ O.G Anunoby/ J. Hart/ D. White. Developing a young player comes with it's growing pain. Why is he getting all this hate when everyone in his year has struggled just as much or not achieved as much as he has? Of course, coming from you, it tastes better because it is a Celtic player. Tatum has an Olympic Gold Medal (No scrub performance), 2 All Star appearances, All NBA Selection, Never missed the playoffs, 2 conference finals appearances, earned his Rookie Max contract and is in his 4th year. |

Roland17:I love Tatum, love his energy. Me I can separate a player from the team. I may not like the celtics, but I like Tatum. However, like Khanben said, we have seen flashes of brilliance, but those flashes are inconsistent. You say he was just drafted in 2017. Well, so was Bam Adebayo and John Collins. Guess who was drafted in 2018? Trae Young, Luka Doncic, DeAndre Ayton. 2019? Ja Morant, Cam Reddish. 2020? LaMelo Ball, James Wiseman All these guys are approaching or have far exceeded Tatum. Once you wait too long to bloom, time will pass you by. If he does not graduate to the next level this year, he risks becoming a really good player, but not a superstar. At least he is doing much better than Zion who was drafted a year later. Criticism is not hate. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Khanben: 4:02am On Nov 15, 2021 |
Roland17:Tatum is suffering from one of the main disadvantages of getting drafted high by a team that has a good enough core that winning happened instantly. So his expected progression tends to be skewed. he is doing his bit IMHO, the team right now is not just well built |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 4:28am On Nov 15, 2021 |
birdman:There is fair criticism and there is “waiting for Tatum to graduate” like others have graduated. You mentioned Bam and John Collins and I wonder how either player have bettered Tatum since entering the league. The last time I checked, the Hawks have not committed to J. Collins. If asked you will say Bam and Collins have graduated? No one is saying Tatum has become the 2nd coming of Kobe but he is going through the same phase many young players are enduring. He has a lot of work to do with his biggest demon being himself but to make definite proclamations like you did earlier is not fair criticism especially when compared to his peers. If you read my comments during Celtics game day, I don’t fail to admonish him but I also know he is working at it. I worry that you throw words carelessly. All these guys are approaching or have far exceeded Tatum, really? Abeg mention the ones that have far exceeded Tatum.. This is why I am confident when I say your hate for the Celtics makes you exaggerate your thoughts when the topic is bothered on the Celtics. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 5:04am On Nov 15, 2021 |
Roland17:Luka has. As has Trae Young. And Ja Morant. Deandre even can get you consistent doubles now. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 5:05am On Nov 15, 2021 |
406 Yards with 5 TDs with 8 minutes left in the 4th.. So much for he is washed...A40 come and tell us again how Mahomes is washed and casted.. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 5:09am On Nov 15, 2021 |
Khanben:I agree 100%. That team has been badly constructed for a while. When they had IT, his heroics covered up a lot of deficiencies. But Ainge had years to tweak that roster but really didnt. Hayward and Horford were good moves, but they never really pursued it. I dont follow Celtics as well as Roland17 does, but I always get the feeling they think positionless basketball is the way to go. They went even farther than Morey at the rockets. O, and btw, on your earlier post, Steve Francis never played with TMac. I believe he went to Orlando in the trade for TMac or something like that. Houston fan base would have imploded had that ever happened. We barely survived Steve vs Yao battles ![]() |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Khanben: 5:10am On Nov 15, 2021 |
Roland17:His slump was self made, he fell in love with the one big play offense. If he plays patient like he his doing in this game, as long as his online holds up, nobody is stopping the chiefs offense. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 5:18am On Nov 15, 2021 |
birdman:All these guys are approaching or have far exceeded...and you come up with this? First I show you a list of nearly 17 players drafted alongside Tatum in 2017 and ask you to come up with those that have matched Tatum's achievement and you come up with 2 out of 17..you mention Bam and Collins....According to you, Bam and Collins are the players in the 2017 draft that have graduated while you are waiting for Tatum to graduate.. Man, just stop already. Oh boy! Outside of Luka, none of those 3 has exceeded worth more far exceeded what Tatum has achieved thus far. We are not talking about projections here, we talking about now. Ja has a legitimate argument, I am one of his biggest fans. Trae? Ayton? This one off me! Ayton had one great season and because he CAN, magic word being can give you double double means he has far exceeded Tatum? Oh boy! What of Wiseman/ Cam Reddish and Lamelo Ball wen you mention? They must have matched Tatum I guess? |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 5:20am On Nov 15, 2021 |
Khanben:IMHO people read too much into his slump to the point of questioning the legitimacy of his talent. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 5:26am On Nov 15, 2021 |
Roland17:dude calm down. I said exceeded or approaching. anyhow Im signing off this topic. I said what I said. Deal with it. you are not going to make me stop analysing teams just because. I aint scared of the celtics, your leprechaun or you |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Khanben: 5:29am On Nov 15, 2021 |
birdman:Ohh, is it Ty lue or Alston then, cause one of those rockets team with Tmac had a dependable PG. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 5:41am On Nov 15, 2021*. Modified: 6:04am On Nov 15, 2021 |
Khanben:I think it was Rafer Alston (skip to my lou). Man we had some good drama. That was the only streetballer to make it into the NBA. And that was about the time And1 basketball was making waves in the USA. Skip was royalty! We would win a game with Tmac and Yao going off, and JVG would still look sad . Guy just liked looking morose. Fun times |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Khanben: 6:43am On Nov 15, 2021 |
birdman:If you remember a game against Spurs I think that TMac went crazy in the closing seconds for like 15pts. Tmac said JVG chewed him out for taking the shots that actually won a game they were already losing .JVG na case, but truth be told if Yao and Tmac could just have stayed healthy, that team was hot PS: Yes it was skip to my lou, really sad he never fully brought his street style to the nba. What could have been ![]() |

birdman:Bam was crucial in the Heat's finals run 2 years ago too. |

Me wey come get Tatum for my fantasy team. I have no option than to wish him well ![]() |

Tatum slightly above Bam. I'd say level with Luka and I'd rate him above Trae and Ja (even though all for should be placed level). The guy is just having a poor run of form and una don begin compare am with Ayton and John Collins, make una fear God na. The guy is an AllStar o, make una no forget. As much as he is having a poor run of form, the whole team is looking like a terrible mess at the moment, he is not the only one playing poorly, na the whole team. Why anyone go even rate John Collins and Ayton level with Tatum sef? The guy dey miles ahead abeg |
| Re: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 10:24am On Nov 15, 2021 |
KNIGHTBlaed:Tatum over Bam? Lol. Basketball is played on two ends of the court o. And Bam is one of the best two-way players in the league at the moment. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 4:03pm On Nov 15, 2021 |
birdman:I don’t need you to be scared of me. I be human being like you..If the Leprechaun scares you then that one Na your “ojuju calabar” be that just like Kyrie realized afterwards. Stop being overtly emotional when issues about the Celtics and Harden come up because they seem to trigger a lot inside you and e no good for your health. Make those topics no go trigger HBP for you. I don tell you before say you get hot temper and unforgiving spirit. #greenrunsdeep #RIP24 |

Roland17:Shior. That Raiders be like team for your face?? With all that dysfunction and craze people they had to cut and fire This is Mahomes first game with multiple TDs since Week 6. First game with more than 2 TDs since week 4. They will face the Cowboys next and we will see who is who. Btw I never said he was washed oh unku |
| Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 12:44am On Nov 16, 2021 |
Roland17:You never learn do you? Where did they finish last season? Answers on a postcard As for Aaron Fraudgers 0 TDs and an INT. Not worth my energy |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Khanben: 4:45am On Nov 16, 2021 |
If KP can play in the playoffs the way he has in the last 2 games. The Mavs will be a problem |
| Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 4:51am On Nov 16, 2021 |
Khanben:Fields on that Falcons team?? Lol they will go 0-34. Even Mac would struggle |
| Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 5:05am On Nov 16, 2021 |
birdman:Out of all these guys you mentioned only two people you can even mention with Tatum and that's Luka and Trae. Which one is far exceeded?? ![]() |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Khanben: 5:31am On Nov 16, 2021 |
A40:Yes, they will loose a lot, but at least it will be the start of a rebuild. Right now they are stuck in limbo and with paying Matt's albatross contract. If they had drafted a QB, they could have cut Ryan, and given the coach at least 3 clear years run way and see how it pans out. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 5:55am On Nov 16, 2021 |
Khanben:I honestly thought when they traded J. Jones they should have also moved Matty Ice and Grady Jarett and started the rebuild this season. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 6:07am On Nov 16, 2021 |
This Derozan Lavine 1-2 punch is a big problem |
| Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 6:11am On Nov 16, 2021 |
It's almost like teams don't know what to do with this Lavine-Ball-Caruso-DeRozan lineup. On paper it should flop but on court its absolute madness |
| Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 6:18am On Nov 16, 2021 |
Khanben:I would gladly take Matty Ice rn for my Steelers. I don't think they have a line or run game to protect a rookie QB. They will lose ad nauseum. They actually failed to build around Matt Ryan in his good years. But of all the rookies now Mac Jones is the only guy I'd take ahead of Ryan. I've not seen anything from Fields or Wilson. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 6:20am On Nov 16, 2021 |
This is crazy. How are the Bulls doing this on a second night B2B. DeRozan, Lonzo and Lavine shouldn't be beating this team by 20. |
