Well, I wish you well in either of your choice. My contribution is that anything you saved up from the job, use it to apply for university degree. HND is a scam to educational system of Nigeria. You would be shocked that your OND is more valuable than the HND you want to pursue in the labour market. cool

If you decide to become the bank cleaner (until you get something better), once you get there see how you can start to wash cars for the older men and women with cars (they pay better) find out how you can make yourself useful to them.
When I was still in the bank there was a woman (cleaner) I loved so much that I engaged her to cook for me during the weekend and apart from what I paid her, she went home with a pot of soup.
When I left the country I asked her to start cooking for my parents. She was so good that the manager gifted her N50k one day. One of the cleaner guys was the one that used to drive me to my village every month to visit orphanages.
So if you decide to be a cleaner, shine your eyes.
Bankers love to wear clothes, introduce several tailors to the bank staff and get a commission on any thing they sew. Don't be too greedy: N200 - N300 per garment is okay
Do you have younger sisters? Can they make hair for the bank ladies? Can they go to market for them? Can they make small chops that the bankers can eat in their cubicle?
Your points are good and valid but from experience,I can tell you that this technique cannot work for everyone.
Some people will take advantage of you if you try this things so,it all depends on the people you are dealing with.
What matters most is God's grace and your wisdom in dealing with this.

I love your spirit, it is so good to know there are still young men /ladies that can think modestly......it is well with you. As others have advised, take the cleaner job and be as industrious as possible, look for opportunities to be more useful than your role; don't be a sluggard like some cleaners I know that once they finished their morning chore, they'll just go into a store to sleep until lunch time when people will send them food......be in their faces and show them you want more thanm the cleaning job cool cool cool cool cool cool

Thank you so much

I just finish my OND,but I planned going for my HND but there is no helper that could help because my both parents are late, and it is just me and my other siblings and I just manage to have ND.

I planned to get a job so that I can save up little to start my HND.

I have search for job but could not get any, so i just got this opportunity and I want to seek your advice on which one I should go for

The bank Cleaner is 17k per month and I will spend #200 daily for transport, the petrol attendant is just few kilometer to where we stay and the basic salary is just 10,000,and #150 for feeding daily.

I am just a bit confused on which one I can choose.

Please no insult, I just need advice...
Thanks.
If the petrol station is a busy one, please run there now now. You don wear your clothes? I said go there now now, you will understand and thank me later

These two people have made it easier for you, way to go. And that recruitment by the bank is very important and the only way you can get that is to be in the good books of those that matter in the bank, with time you can also tell them about your qualifications.

Well said.
Thumbs up.

Well, to answer your question, as an OND holder i'd suggest you take the bank cleaning Job for a start. Banks prefer employing OND holders as Tellers and by that, you stand a chance of been absorbed into the system ...should that happen, (level done change be that o grin). All you need do is to be of good behaviour and also keep ur eyes and ears wide open for information regarding recruitment in the branch, you may be lucky.

Remember, prayer is key.

Good luck bro.

Nonsense.

You're one of those that put a debasing tag on blue collar jobs.
If everyone had your mentality, do you think there will be petty trades or attendants out there?

I advise you to go for the petrol station job offer.
It's close to your place and they give out #150 feeding fee daily which you can actually save some because it's not all the time that you'll be buying food. There are times that you'll eat from home. Unlike the bank that pays #17000 without any feeding fee and you'll be spending #200 on transportation.
NOW #200 × 30DAYS =#6000. #17000-6000=#11000. #11000-FEEDING FEE=SUFFERING & REGRET my dear. NO MUCH DIFFERENCE FROM THE #10000 FUEL SALARY.

In the bank the big bosses there might make you feel inferior as a cleaner, you'll always be answerable to them if not you'll lose your job and you'll be so stressed. Unlike the petrol station that you'll also feel as your own boss, you won't feel inferior, no one will judge you there, you'll have time to interact with your fellow colleagues and be happy.

GO FOR THE PETROL STATION JOB OFFER.

I would think that the bank job could lead to being absorbed into the banking system.

The fuel job could lead to being made manager of the station.

However, with OND/HND, schools hire teachers with that.

I advise u go for the cleaning job. My reasons are:
1. As a pump attendant, Shortage is a sure game for u which will be deducted from ur salary
2. In fuel station, they dont colse early, they even wrk on sunday.
3. As a bank clearner, there is no fear of shortage and if u are hard working and loyal u will get TYS from the banks staff and some of the bank customers.

I can understand. A lot of schools will hire at 20k and you'll need to be teaching a tougher subject well to get higher. Alternatively, you'll need to be at a school long enough to be promoted.

I think you should go for the bank cleaning job. Petrol attendance job will corrupt you and teach you how to steal. You will be on your feet morning till night. The bank job, you will meet people who can help you if you are humble and hard working. Your senior colleagues will dash you money almost on the daily if you run small errands for them. You have some time to yourself and ac will be blowing you. Pele. Things will get better.

I will advice you to go for the cleaner job
1 - working environment- you are face with a harsh environment working as a fuel station attendant, most customers see fuel attendant as a potential thief who will cheat them.
2 - working hours, you resume early and close late at times
3 - job harzad like explosion and fire outbreak, attending to unruly customers, theft of personal belongings (phone, wallet) & robbery.
4 - risk at the job like, fake currency, shortage, spilling fuel, being hit by car
5- fatigue, some fuel station doesn't allow their attendant to seat while on duty, Exposure to harsh weather, dust particles and fuel fume

Their is also a probability of getting a better role in the banking job if you are well behave and mannered, you can be converted to messenger or office assistant if you are digigent with your work.

You also get connect from the bank staff who can later help you with employment.
