I am a die hard Messi fan but truth be told, Messi doesn't deserve the award. Especially due to his performance in psg this season. Now I know the ballon d'or is a political award and does not always determine the best player due to performance. I drop my pen in peace.

For the best keeper, I think Mendy deserves it more.

While I’m a CR 7 fan , I think Messi deserved it . However I think The organizers should have combined last year’s award with this year. It is shameful that Covid will cause the cancellation of a footballing award when football itself didn’t stop . Lewandowsky should get his award . He worked for it

I just pray they pair bayern with psg in the round of 16, so that it will show how corrupt and inconsequential that fake award is ... even messi zombies know he will be disgraced by lewa again... they should make sure the person that wins copa in 2023 wins the balon dor otherwise we will revisit 2021

Wailers won't kill me. Truth to be Told Lewy deserved 2020 ballon d'or . But Messi is not the cause of covid-19 that made ligue 1 to end their league in 2020 which made them cancel the award. Is that Messi's fault ?

FIFA still gave lewy his award as the best player in 2020 which is well deserved.
My opinion 2020 ballon d'or should be given to Lewy despite the virus .
As for 2021 Messi is clear winner because of copa America if you know this you know peace. grin

Many of you are using sentiments. Yes, Lewandowski deserved it last year, but not this year.

But most of you are using emotion innthis issue while experts look at statistics. There is no emotion in this kind of award. Messi beat everyone hands down.

Euros and the Copa America played a major part in deciding this year's winner not t just club trophies or goals .
Lewy couldn't get his hands on the Euros and just like Barcelona his Bayern Munich team couldn't win last season's UCL

No UCL, No Euros (equivalent to Copa America) and you were expecting Lewy to win the ballon dor

I guess Messi won all the trophies too..

some players have UCl, Euros, Uefa Super cup...but not given. If your narration is by trophies won, then it should have been J5.

If its by performance, despite his injury struggle, it should have been Lewy 9.

And for the keeper of the year- For me to shoulda been Mendy 1st and Oblak second.

Remember Mendy won the UCL, Super cup and UCL Gk of the year (Same competition Dona was part of). he also has the highest no of cleansheet. Oblak won Laliga and was voted Laliga player of the year.

Only you guys who dont know how Messi was chosen feels Lewan was cheated. Messi beat him hands down. But we all agreed he best Messi last year. And this is why we are calling on Fifa to give him that of 2020. They shouldn't use Covid19 as an excuse. Look at my previous post for the statistics used in 2021. Messi beat him hands down.

Sentiments and emotions can't come into play..

The Year under review, Lewandoski ONLY won Bundesliga and Super Cup...he was the top goal scorer in Europe.

Whereas,

Lionel Messi won Copa Del Rey with Barcelona and Copa America with Argentina...He was the highest goal scorer in La Liga and Copa America...with Best Player of the Tournament award.

Although, Lewandoski was a clear favourite in 2020.. unfortunately, the award couldn't hold due to CoVID19 pandemic..

The year under review, which is 2021... Lewandoski is still fantastic...but there is a certain Lionel Messi, whose performance, especially for his Country gave him highest votes from Sport Journalist, National Team Managers and Captains.

No be Messi's fault...He is just excellently qualified.

Almost all football fans are sentimental and will never say the truth. Even my 7months old niece knows Lewandowski deserve the award.....Our African brother Mendy was also robbed.

Though I love Messi but he didn't deserve the award this time..... Ronaldo nor bother attend the ceremony cos he know say he nor be option at all. grin

thank you "better person" thats wassup, he could have won it back in 2020 but unfurtunately, it was cancled, this ballon d'or is for 2021 so people should stop clarmoring, messi winning copa america is a huge "statement" backed by some individual feat he also got, messi desevre winning this years award just as lewi in 2020.
