Hello! My name is Suzan, I am a graduate of geology. I just want to start processing my Canadian dream, please I really need help on how to go about it as I am a complete novice. I want to apply for masters in Geographic information system (MGIS) at university of Calgary Alberta Canada, I don't mind if anyone already there can assist me. Thank you

The program admission is relatively easy if you meet up their requirement. Expect no scholarship because it a Professional program. If I would advise you, I will say you should look for other masters or post graduate diploma in GIS with internship or coop. Experience counts more than a master's degree in Canada GIS field and your proposed program is relatively theoretical with no internship or coop. All the best.

But this is not fair at all, like I have just been confused since I saw this newe Abi what is all this bayi, they should better cancel this ban or they shouldnot make it official

The only option now is to go through neighbouring countries.
You stay there for 14days and fly after because no one know exactly when this ban will be lifted. Mxm

Oh okay, thank you for the update.
But I have read and watched some YouTube videos and accepts it, but you may have to freeze it and make sure you close it tightly.

The detection of the omicron virus in Canada from two travellers from Nigeria is sending shivers down my spine as I am due to travel to canada by nextweek. I fear they might place a ban on travellers from Nigeria or even close their borders.

I want to bring my flight forward to this weekend but it will mean that I will now arrive Canada more than one month before the commencement of my program (Jan 10 2022). Wouldn't this be an issue at the airport (before boarding) as I may not have a tenable excuse why I'm leaving so early?

Pls @lekiboe @anon and other gurus help!

If you're in canada and you have a useful update what's up o.

No one can predict government decision, except they have insider information. However, I can tell you that a good government priority is to protect its citizens. So they will do anything to achieve that, including banning all incoming flights if necessary. I will try to enter Canada as soon as I have the required visa and I am allowed to enter.

Well I didn't know Nigeria is already on the list when I posted this. Unfortunately, serious government around the world don't want to take chances anymore. They will receive huge backlash if they are perceived as unresponsive to any international covid threat. I would advise anyone planning to come soon to email their school. Perhaps they will allow online classes or mount pressure on Canadian government for exemption.

All the best.

Osemigbo, glad to see you still helping out here.

To all those planning to travel soon. Don't panic, it will all pan out well. Wait a few days to see how things are, weigh your options and make a decision. Shit happen, all will be well in the end.

Soon enough many will figure out a way of getting here as suggested by someone earlier (probably through a neighbouring country).

It’s not this deep! If they see it they throw it away , if you bring it again in the future you’ll be subject to a monetary fine, in the usa it’s about $250/$200 fine. I always try my luck and sometimes it shines , sometimes they find it trash it.

If your flight is tomorrow, is it still reasonable to travel?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 20 by Amazeballz: 12:17am On Dec 01, 2021
Hello guys,
I have an issue. My mom’s PPR came and we sent it to VFS to submit it to the embassy. On review what had been sent I found out I forgot to actually print out the original PPR letter and I have already dispatched it to the UPS office. What should I do?

It is a gamble for the fully vaccinated, and probably no chance for the unvaccinated.

Thank you so much, Ketima. Like my Biology teacher back in secondary school would say: "try and fail, but don't fail to try"; I'd try as hard as I can to address the VO's concerns before making my next application.

For sure, there's a close rapprochment between my sponsor and I. I'd be going to tell him the outcome of the whole thing tomorrow morning to see what best we can do to handle the situation. Yeah, he mentioned the fact that I have a fully-funded offer from my department along with my TAship position, and equally talked about how the knowledge I'd acquire from my MA program would shape my career paths and open up juicy job opportunities here in Nigeria after I will have completed it. In fact, I meticulously drafted the letter for his endorsement before I submitted my application.

I'm cocksure that my GCMS notes would explain in detail why my application was refused.

Warm regards

If you read this page well, you will realize single applicant with full Canadian scholarship don't need a sponsor. You only complicate your financial situation with your sponsors, if they are not your parents and rich enough to afford your tuition and living expenses.

Many past single applicants with full scholarships, including myself, got their student visa with less than 1m in their account. If you don't have that saved, Your parent or siblings can transfer this to you and give you a letter of moral support, not financial support. Your sponsor is your school scholarship.

Sell off things? Why?
I dont think it should get to that though. Indians found a way out and continued to travel when they were banned for the Delta variant. A matter of weeks, people will figure out other ways to travel. Well, we can only keep hope alife. Me I do not want to study online like this oooo.
God will help us

They can be reviewing your eligibility without updating it on your portal. Some peoples own are not updated sef until they get PPR. So would one now say they did not review their application ? Mine started the same day I got medical request, ofcourse they will not issue a MR without reviewing eligibility...This just depends on the VO. Some update portal as they go while some others simply update after final decisions has been made.

In my own case, eligibility no start at all, dem just slam me breakfast make i chop.

You can try, but the worst that can happen is you checking-in successfully from Nigeria, lands in Canada and you’re denied entry.

My bro/sis, please if you want to take this risk, Book an approved hotel for your Quarantine plan (14 days). You don’t have to pay online, you can just add your card and they are not going to charge you, You are going to pay at check-in. Just don’t give the Immigration any reason to have a long conversation with you.
