Why is this place quiet? Why is no one posting what they're buying? Do we only hear about your successes when the market is green? Please post what you're buying and possibly reasons for buying. Market don show me shege, the only way around it now is to buy more

UPDXREIT is a bad market on my bedsheet bro

fv showing below cp @ 3.40

many metrics are not even pointing green flag. red flag more than the green embarassed.

it my own opinion bro, some might even see it juicy when they compare the earnings with total liabilities grin

me and my household will let this pass

Why is MTN prize not frozen on NSE like other PO's of the past ? It closed today at N169.2 That is 20k above PO price.

Not a recommendation as I am heavily loaded on MTN for long term... I bought at 170 and I announced it here then!

Hello house, I need an answer to my question.

I advised my sister to start saving money for her kids University education. She decided to make me the banker. She has given me 250k so far.
My question; is possible to grow this money on NSE? The eldest child is in SS 2, meaning in 2 years time he will likely be in the uni. Can 250K grow to say 1M in 2years? If yes, what are the strategies?

Too risky.

Never invest what you cannot afford to lose. If the market go down do you have a means of repayment?
You better look for other stable form of investment if you must invest it. If the money go down it means you have successfully planted the war tree for your family

@emmanuelewumi please what do you think a fair price is for MTN?
MTN is very negligible in my portfolio.

I look at the expected cash flow, dividend yield and dividend growth from an investment

So we might not be looking the same thing.

I stopped buying MTN at N120 or there about.

If I want to buy more, I can't buy for more than N150

Dangerous game.
Safety of the fund is more important.

Nobody will guarantee you a 300% in 2 years

He should invest the fund in money market fund or fixed income fund

Thank you!
I would refund the money to her if things go bad without much stress.
So, in your opinion, who is the NSE for?

NSE is where big companies come to raise capital for their business.
You become a part owner of such companies when you buy their shares.

You can make money based on the price movement within 2 years, but it is not guaranteed.

On the long run when you invest in well managed companies and you monitor your Investments, it is very possible to build wealth.

So, in your opinion, who is the NSE for?
The volatile/erratic nature of the NSE does not permit for you to invest this kind of funds in it. NSE is for high risk takers. If the money was for you or you are saving it for your children's school fees then it will be understandable to you when it's time for the school fees payment and the prices of shares you bought have not performed as expect/ is way below what you bought it. You can source fund elsewhere and fix the school fees issue.

However, the way this is, if same situation is to happen it might strain the relationship between you and your sister. So the best thing is for you to invest it in mutual fund. Either in Money Market Fund or Fixed income fund. Not saying you can make much in NSE ooo but then you can loose more too. However, with mutual funds you are sure that your capital is safe and you can liquidate and refund her when required.

Yes profit there would be small but you will have your rest of mind. No investment will give you the kind of profit you are looking for. Instead it will go in and nothing will come out in return. Except you trade it in business yourself.
