Abiola was the best president never had. A philanthropic business man. He wasn't interested in stealing money. An investor in sports and youths. Free giving. Detrablised.
Exactly what people would have said if Buhari hadn't won.

Abiola was as corrupt as every other Nigerian politician.
seunolu7:
He won votes across the North. Winning places like Yobe, Kano and Kaduna. He won west comfortably. He would have turned Nigeria around.

But see how igbos voted a fulani man, Tofa over Abiola just because of jealousy and hatred. One of the many betrayals of igbos against yorubas.
Do you suffer from selective amnesia? Shows us the voting pattern when OBJ won or is he not a Yoruba.
seunolu7:

Yorubas always will remember.
Who cares? Igbos vote for who they believe will lead well and we don't give a rat ass where he is from.

How many votes Ojukwu get when he contested?

Unlike you lots they vote sentimentally, we vote for who we believe will work not who we like or who someone said we should vote for.

It was out of wickedness that you voted Buhari in instead of Jonathan now look at us.

Keep on voting incompetent people, you think you're doing Igbo people but you're doing yourself.

Hardship know no region or who voted for who.

Yorubas never fail to amuse me. In 2021 they are revising an event thinking that we all have slept while they rewrite history. Come straight to who Igbo voted between Abiola and Tofa. That Igbo voting pattern that favored TOFA made me proud for five reasons which I will elaborate below.

One, had Igbo voted Abiola, the well-oiled lie about Igbo hatred for one another would have found an easy expression since in not voting Tofa we would have failed to vote for an Igbo son who also was Tofa’s candidate. You do not even appreciate the vote Anambra gave to Abiola and you insult them too by opening this topic. I have known you guys as masters of double speak. In 2015 your sing-song was that Igbo hated the Fulani and that was why they didn't vote for Buhari, a Fulani. Even IGBO’S protestations that Buhari was perpetually unelectable and would kill Nigeria did not satisfy you. Twice he chose Igbo running mates twice the proud and great Igbo nation rejected him. Today's events vindicate us but our traducers are so shameless that they continue to blame us for not being a party to their monumental folly that birthed the lifeless one.

Two, I will take the matter a little bit personal here. Why would the Igbo vote for Abiola the man that sponsored the 1983 coup that threw up Buhari as Military Head of State which effectively truncated the Igbo man's hope of ruling Nigeria in 1987. Check our records to understand us well rather than forcing us to be like the rest. We are Igbo. And we say no apologies for being Igbo. The record I'm talking about is the fact that Igbo is the only truly republican and democratic group in Nigeria. We are the only group that has never voted for a coup plotter in any election irrespective of his origin. Why should we throw this enviable record away because of Abiola? Who is he? That is our record. We can further boast of our democratic credentials by saying that the Igbo is special in having never elected former military officers as governors. Our attitude is simple: democracy for democrats. Abiola lacked that credential in our estimation. Again, why should we have voted for Abiola, a known coupist, corruption magnet, irresponsible adulterer, CIA agent, to mention but a few?

Three, Abiola was famous for his philanthropy all over Nigeria. But in Abiola's Nigeria Eastern Nigeria was another country. There was no single Abiola’s philanthropic footprint in Igbo land. He did marvels in every other place but the East. He was so pained about how quickly the East recovered following the war that he didn't want to put a penny to it. Igboland should remain a desolate land. We were neither his ethnic brothers nor his faith brothers. He is a discredited philantropist just like Gandhi is now regarded widely as a discredited human rights activist for fighting the course of Indian miners and neglecting blacks in the South African minefields. Only demented black man will regard such a person as activist. All objective persons irrespective of their location would also find such a person repulsive. If you were Igbo won't you read this as a signpost of what to expect under him? This is exactly how we read Buhari and roundly rejected him. We assessed his public office records and saw the bile with which he hated us for being us. Under him in PTF Igbo got little to nothing compared to others. Why should we deceive ourselves that the leopard would change color if elected president. He has once again proved us right.

Four, Abiola due to his quarrel with a single Igbo man declared in National TV that he would win and rule with or without the Igbo. That single man, Arthur Nzeribe, showed him that even if he won the election without the Igbo he would not rule without them. We did not vote for Abiola just like we did not vote for Buhari and we owe no apology. You so much loved Abiola but you brought in Buhari that urinated on Abiola's head with Abacha and made him president. You love Abiola yet you are ready to have Nigeria collapse in order to elect as president the man who has been shown to have betrayed Abiola. It is because of the same man that you put up this wishy washy post against the greatest African tribe ever.

Five, Abiola was quite insensitive to Nigeria’s diversity. Only the lifeless one as a dictator did what Abiola did by choosing A Muslim-Muslim ticket. No matter how weak the Christian may be, like Osinbanjo currently is, we will prefer him to having two Muslims. In Nigeria, the North views the Igbo as the Christians, the only true Christians just as the Igbo views the North as the Muslims the only true Muslims. As such the North will never accept a Christian-Christian ticket for whatever it is worth. As custodians of Christianity in Nigeria, the Igbo would have sold its birthright by voting a Muslim-Muslim ticket. More than anybody else, we understand the complexity of Nigeria. We want to respect every group and insist that every group respect us. It would have been a slap on the Christian faith, perhaps Buhari’s jihadi movement would have started a bit earlier if Abiola had won and Muslims given free rein. After all, they were once partners in coup, why won't they be partners in jihad with the Igbo as the prime target as being witnessed today.

Finally, in all the arguments about voting for each other's candidates Igbo has two against the Yoruba. We voted for an Obasanjo presidency. And Abiola won a state in Igbo land. Now tell me a Yoruba State that has ever voted an Igbo in a presidential contest? Hear this and hear it again: we do not care what you say. We only vote for good candidates irrespective of where they come from. And do not mix it up, if Buhari defects to PDP today, Igbo will still abandon him and vote for a better candidate. Our perception of him has been reinforced by events of the last five years.

We actually felt that TOFA was better and we give no apology for that.

From the way Yorubas go about this Nigerian business, it is easy to deduce that Yorubas still being in Nigeria is the biggest achievement Yorubas have ever had in their existence.

Without Nigeria, I don't think Yorubas will be recognised in African scheme of things

You must be a comedian but you are not funny. Yoruba is single handedly putting africa on the map, with or without Nigeria, unlike you however we are not stupid and we will carry the Nigerian flag with pride until Nigeria is no more. As long as there is still Nigeria, we will be major players that run things. It’s how it’s always been and it’s how it will always be.

Where is your evidence Fulanis killed Abiola?

A Kanuri man was the president during the Incanceration of MKO.

A Tapa man was the president when he died.

And a Yoruba man from Ogun eventually ruled Nigeria from 1999-2007.

We kicked out the Military from power. IBB resigned, Abacha died, Abdulsalam saw the handwriting and quickly hand over to a Yoruba man in 1999

In 2023, Tinubu will also be your president, no matter how you wail online reach, nothing go happen.

A thread with bigots unleashed. I hate bigots whether you are igbo, yoruba, Fulani, a minority tribe. It also doesn’t matter if you are white, black, green, yellow, grey, brown or blue. Once you are a bigot we have nothing in common. Whatever this thread seeks to achieve is what I am not sure about...

Ipob speaks for the igbos and that’s what they have been saying on this forum. If you can’t point a place where you ever told them to allow whomever vote whomever they wish. Then you are going in agreement with them. So why tryin to sound half smart. It’s easy for you to talk about democracy now but you never told your people about democracy when they demonize Yoruba over Buhari like Yoruba didn’t vote Atiku
