so what u re saying is after d child is okay is money not required to take care of d baby? At least some part of d money should be kept for d well being of d child. If not for poverty why would d girl's parents be deciding on what should happen to his child? It's like saying I have a child and my father in-law would tell me what goes with my child.

I didn't say any of that. Also, there might not be even enough for the operation and the hospital stay. He needs to forget about that money and raise more money because this is going to be an expensive and stressful process.

People that don't think well just full this forum.
Mr OP is saying the father of the child is being sidelined and not having a say in the decision of his own child , and people are saying because the man is broke he doesn't deserve to be the father of his child.
Like his fatherly role is now invalid because he's broke.

So if this man decides to walk away and start life with another woman.
It's this same family and nairaland people that would say he's a dead beat father, and he walked away from his child when he needed him.
Because there's money , everyone automatically wants to take charge ..

Mr OP you're a good man and please be a witness to the truth and speak for the boy , since he has no one.

God is watching and would repay everyone accordingly at the appointed time.

When you talk about helping, honestly the best help you can offer is already what you're doing..

Always speak wisdom into the boy's head.
Don't let his spirit become crushed or defeated.
Even if the girls family stops him from having Access to his own child
Let him not walk away until the child has been discharged and is doing fine.

I'm so curious as to what would happen in the future as it regards the lady , her family and this man.

If I were him, I wouldn't marry her or have anything to do with the family.

Am at the hospital now and we are hearing another thing..........she signed undertaking for the baby be released to her and the baby doesn't belong to the father.

Infact she has requested for the money to be released to her.

Now the picture is clearer now...the girl family are actually after the money not the baby well being.

Now I get it.
Do you have the NGOs number? Involve them in this issue and let your boy declare total war.

That even least of the issue now......they are rejecting the baby here.

The mother and father slept outside the hospital with the baby.

They are saying since she signed the forceful discharge they can never admit the baby back.

U guys are not getting me .....isn't about having a say about the money but rather knowing how the money is spent.

So what if the surgery cost 200k and the girl family decides to share the remaining 700k among themselves?? That ok
why are you so concerned about the money? How the money is spent is not your business after all the girls family have been taking care of expenses. Your boy is not complaining it's not his money after all

Like I said earlier the money time and resources used in taking care of a premmy does not superceded the general well being of that child ...

Las Las 900k go finish .

I spent over 1.5m during lockdown for baby so am wondering what 900k would do in our present economic situation. ..

U can't even keep records of money spent in this situation because one will get tired ..

Hospital stress ...mental stress ...physical stress ..emotional stress...

All these won't make u remember cost once the goal of getting the baby discharged comes Paramount .

It was only November last month I saw some of the receipts used and decided to cost it ..

Missing from the list were drugs purchased outside and laboratory results from outside ..

Make una hurstle more money becos 900k no go reach ..

After baby's discharge mum should not use public bus to go for her appointment's ..taxis are more ideal so the child does not get an infection .

Premmys are very sensitive

Point of correction he is also spending and taking care of the expenses.

I guess the only money part you seeing try and read all over again .....you see where the girl sister forcefully discharge the baby without the parent consent.....she signed everything but now they are back and the hospital is rejecting the baby.

Is not about money but the decision making.

The girl sister went to forcefully discharge the baby without the father consent...

I only want him to be carried along.....because the baby is being rejected and we are the one doing the running around not the girl family.

seems you did not read the post but I'll explain to you. The girl's family have been taking care of the child before the money from NGO came so why do you think they will stop taking care of the child after surgery? The girl's family have been shouldering all the bill something the boy and his family did not do and you dare mention POVERTY. If not for the girls family I'm not sure the child would have been alive till now because clearly the boy has no means to take care of the child and I'm sure even the OP would not have helped out. But the girl's family stood for their daughter and their grandchild which is the right thing because the girl is not even married. And yes if you're foolish enough to get married when you have no means of taking care of yourself your in-laws will show you shege

U are still not getting the point here.

The point here is the girl family wanting to cut the father off totally.

If not for the surgery.....the girl was staying with him through the pregnancy until delivery...they were transferred to a federal hospital he staying there with the girl feeding her and paying for some of the medical bills.

Telling him to stand and watch while all decisions are made without recognising him is totally wrong.

By law of the country he is the father of the child...he has to be carried along.

The girl sister forceful discharge of the baby without his consent is wrong..

If he decides to work away now...they will tag him a dead beat father
He is a boy what does he know? Do you think he does not need the presence and experience of the girls father? If they give him the 900k and leave him to his fate do you think he can handle the situation himself? Let the elderly man do his job and let the boys sit in the background and watch. He should be grateful the girl's family are concerned if they had abandoned her like his family did I'm not sure if the child would have been alive till today. He can't control his deek and you think he can control 900k?

If the the family of the girl in question doesn't want him to get involved, he should stay back and this he should assertain from the head of the family, ie the father of her girlfriend. From the behaviour of the sister of the lady who discharged them without proper consultation, its clear they are wild. 900,000 is nothing if they desire to take care of the child and the girl. So talk with the father of that family and from what you learn from him know how to help the poor boy

Is this the only hospital? Can you not contact the NGO? How could a premature baby sleep outside of a hospital?

You keep contradicting yourself. One minute the father only cares about the money and not the wellbeing of the baby and the next minute they are sleeping outside the hospital.

I don't live in your country so I don't know how a premature baby could be left outside the hospital so I will stop commenting on this.

I will pray for this baby's wellbeing because I don't care about the guy and his rights right now. This baby needs to be saved and operated on that is all that matters right now. Your friend should humble himself and sacrifice his rights for now for the sake of his baby. Good luck

You don't care about the guy right But the lady sister is the one who put us in this mess is the one that need to humble herself.

She signed for the baby to be forcefully discharge from luth......now luth is telling us they don't take patient who are forcefully discharge.

What right does the girl sister has to sign for the baby to be forcefully discharge to her??

It's Neva easy for a hospital to readmit a patient.that got discharged without the doctors consent ..

Talkless of a premmy ....

What is top priority now is getting the baby readmitted...

Look for the head peadetrician , matron or any oga in top close to the head of that unit

All of you should beg that the person who discharged the baby had no right to .

As at yesterday nite before i left the baby was collected to be admitted but on getting here this morning I got to know they didn't readmitted the baby.

Ofcourse luth will release the money because it was donated in the baby name(the chaque carry the baby name)....so is not luth money.

The grandfather was the one I spoke too yesterday and he said the lady doesn't have a sister but I later found out the lady is a family memeber from the girl mother side(not blood sister).

The matter is really complicated.......we are trying to see if they will admit him at lasu.

Pointless fight if you ask me. He won't gain anything but enemies from that fight.
He should ensure the money is use to take care of his child after surgery and he step up his hustle so as to be in better position to financially take care of his child that is all
