Sure, he can play them more often- but at what cost? Losing 3 games? Drawing 8 matches?

The better your options, the more comfortable you’ll be at rotation.

City is the most rotated squad in the EPL. And that’s because the squad is filled with quality in every position - much more than any other team in the league.

Pep has an array of fantastic players to suit the style he loves to play. He depends heavily on wingers and AMs for his game plan to work. And he’s got loads of quality players in those positions.

Now, do other coaches have the same luxury? Do they have an array of quality players that fit into their game plan?

The answer is no.

If not for severe injury crises, they would have been better than they are. I don't want to imagine such high injuries to Liverpool, especially to star players at a very long duration. It's a different ball game winning one or two games with thin squad compared to playing with such a squad at a long duration. See Tsimikas, a very very good Lb, but how many game time is he seeing? If he's in man city and he's been rotated with their left back, we'll all be here reading how pep has good two quality and luxury Left backs in we'll all shout squad depth again

If you pick a first XI in the league, how many of those players will get into that squad?

The only top midfielder Chelsea has is Kante. And he’s being plagued with injuries.

They are thin in midfield.

The first choice wingbacks are okayish- James and Chilwell. The rest have huge defensive frailties.
