No. It’s not compulsory. No need. Just leave it like that so that your gas won’t finish.
Bad advise

Help out everyone. I've been a silent follower and I'm now done browsing pages 1 to 600.

My ish now is I have small money. Between a weighing scale and measuring cups, which would be better for both international and local measurements?

I can't afford to buy the two at once and I don't want to keep the money before expenses happen to it.

For accuracy, get a scale dear. Preferably digital.

I swear, I almost cannot stand measuring flour with cups.
When I see a recipe that uses cups instead of a scale, I just skip ASAP! Especially for cakes.

Thanks for this. It would also be better since the cups are cheaper and I can purchase them later.

I can't find the scale locally so it has to be Jumia.

The measuring cups will still be necessary for liquid measurements like oil and milk, and they also come with measuring spoons for measuring those little ingredients like baking powder, baking soda, yeast...
So, I'd advise you try to get both.
The plastic ones are cheaper.

So at the end of the year, they give out awards for the best food post or what? What is the purpose of this thread if not to promote gluttony and showboating?

No, it doesn't. The foods posted here give some people inspiration on what to cook, and a lot of persons have gotten new cuisines and learnt how to cook certain foods from the posts here. Do well to checkup the word "foodie" in your dictionary.

I am not a cook but a professional working from home. I grew up in a home where my mom sold food as such, cooking is no big deal. My dad as professional as he was back then assisted so it was normal for everyone to assist and that way, you learn to love cooking.

Most times, my wife makes breakfast because I resume a bit early. She starts later so it is just being fair and responsible of me to make dinner knowing by the time she gets off her desk it is time for dinner.

Overall, we discuss breakfast and dinner for the week on Sunday so that we can be flexible and not have a boring food schedule.
