I understand the anxiety from some of these agents especially if you are in the dark as to the status of your application. You can have access to your application but the implication of this is that your agent wont be able to access your account anymore (2) You would have to fill a form disassociating yourself from the agent and submit on your GC Key before your account is retrieved.

In fairness to agents, some are very good with what they do so i am not sure which particular agent is handing your application.

In the event you decide to dissassociate yourself from your agent and want to retreive your account. I posted some guide on how to do this on the link below:

https://www.nairaland.com/6567181/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/566#104609945

All the best.

As long as you have paid the agent in full for the service. The agent has no business holding your application.

Omo! Prospective Canadian students on NAIRALAND.

Please oh! Is there anybody who applied since August, and hasn't received even medical request, nothing! Since after biometrics?

My agent is just quiet about it, nothing is happening! N to the o to the thing! Nothing!!!! and I don't have my application number! It's a regular application though.

I'm supposed to resume by January 10th!

I'm frustrated!
embarassed ?? angry
As long as you have paid the agent in full for their services, you are meant to have full access to your application. Furthermore, you need to know what is happening to your application. U never know if a decision has been made or a request as made of you to respond.

Greetings All, and compliments of the season.

Please can someone tell me what to do as a matter of urgency... I did online application for Canada study permit. I have uploaded all the needed documents and all that's needed is for me to make payment for my application to be completed but my payment keeps getting declined. I believe it has to do with maximum amount exceeded in my debit card.

Please is there any other method of payment online apart from using a credit card?

Thank you

Chief, the process is the same irrespective of where you have previously studied, the only advantage you may have is faster consideration for admission from whichever DLI you apply to.

Try to consider applying for a higher degree than MSc to reduce the chances of refusal or if you opt to go for college, you should try not to use your MSc certificate. Your CV/work experience can cover for the educational gap when applying for your student visa provided they are in the same line as your first degree.

However, we have had scenarios where people applied for PGD and went ahead to submit their MSc certificates and still got approval but the risk is higher going that route.

Cheers chief

Hello,
I intend moving to canada from UK next september. Is the process entirely different? Do i stand a higher chance? I am presently studying for an M.Sc. which i will be done with by may 2022 so i will not be able to apply for a Ph.D. I intend applying for another M.Sc. or even a graduate diploma. Will this be a red flag ?

Yeah you can change your course to a 1year course.

However, please note that it is important that your POF shows adequately the following:

1. That you can make payment for your fees during the duration of your study (1yr/2yrs) and avoid lump sum as much as you can.
2. If you are self sponsored, it must show that you can cover for your living expenses also,
3. If you have a sponsor, your sponsor must be able to show that after financing your school fees and living expenses, he/she will have enough to cater for his/her dependents and run his/her business effectively without fear of running bankrupt except the sponsor is a salary earner.

Cheers

Merry Christmas guys.

Pls can I change my 2 years course to a 1 year course in CENTENNIAL COLLEGE for May 2022 admission, because I just realised I'm going to need a POF of about $56k (N20m range) which I don't think I can't realistically raise.

I realised its better to secure a 2 year admission to get a 3 year PGWP, but POF no dey ground 4 now.

I have received a pre-admission letter (to receive LOA upon payment of deposit fee of $2650). Although I'm still waiting for admission from CONESTOGA COLLEGE.

Your GCMS notes should make your reapplication easier.
1. You have to explain the lump sum in your SOA, as identified by the VO. Do a LOE for your SOA and explain every lump sum in it.
2. Your spouse's pay slip has to be resubmitted with clear legibility. This should go with showing proof that he can take care of the home front in your absence.
3. Your SOP seem not to do justice to your study plan. You really must convince the VO of your study plan and how the proposed course of study bears positively on your previous academic qualifications and career progression. I think you have a lot of work to do on your SOP.

Again, wait for the gurus.
It is well

Baba don't be lazy, Google is your friend.

That being said ,it is advisable to go there youself if you stay close or call their customer service representative when you finally get the website link.

The medical itself should take nothing less than 3-4 hours to maximum of 8hours due to the number of people wanting to do their medicals.

I hope this documents wouldnot create more complications as the VO clearly outlined specifically why he refused the visa.

The course she is going for should show career progression and how it would be of importance to her personally and her community. She should further explain why the course and how she hopes to build a lasing career in it.

Explain each lump sum in details backing it up with documents and photos if the need arises.

Might also need to include spouse letter of introduction from his employer, promotion letter if any, salary review if any, tax clearance and a letter from his pension scheme. Husband can also get a Gic for her if the cash is available.

She can include a study leave approval from her employer, her six months payslips ,and her bank statement.

There wasn't any issue raised on hometies which mean she did justice to that in her Sop.

My 2 cents, please reach out to the gurus privately to further dissect this case.

It will end in praise.

Hello guys, please I need clarification on the meaning of lump deposit. Is 500k a lump deposit?

My parents run a business where they collect cash from customers who make purchases. When the cash accumulates to 500k, they deposit into their account.

They are able to make this 500k deposit every three to four days, hence it appears regularly through their bank statements.

I have submitted my application but I didn’t provide any explanation. I want to just be sure whether this is also a lump sum deposit?

Lastly I heard lump sum deposit depends on ones monthly earning, that if the deposit amount is more than your monthly salary, it is a lump sum. My father earns around 350k from his full time job but it’s his account that shows these constant 500k deposits from business profit.

Please I need clarification

In your case I will advise you attach immediately a payslip for the 350k and receipts for the 500k since they all appear on the statement.

Attach these docs with a letter to explain what the docs are for

Please I am new here.

I would like to know if I can use my uncle's bank statement as a proof of fund. Please note that we don't share the same surname.

Also, can I use a letter of approved student loan as a proof of fund?

Thank you.

Hello Everyone, I just got admission to study in canada and I want to apply for visa with my husband. How do I go about the SOP...please I need guidance...thank you and compliments of the season

A standard SOP should cover these areas.

1) Introduction
As an applicant it is good to introduce yourself, hobbies, skills and aspirations which guided you towards your academic/professional journey.

2) Why the course.
In this section, you are to buttress more on the section 1 which aligns with your decision to choose the course you are going for. In addition, you are to talk about your work experience, professional certification (if any) how it relates to the intended course and its benefits to you, your company or nation.

3) why the school.
Normal gist. Google can do this for you.

4)Finance
Here you explain how much is readily available to you to cover your fees, living expense. Who your is and the relationship. Any lump sum in on the account, you explain those too with evidence/reason for the amount. Its important you do this, cos the Visa officer will assume you are just dumping money for the purpose of the application and not because its available. You are also expected to include your own bank statement housing your living expense at least.

5) Hometies
As an applicant applying for a study permit(temporary residence) it is expected you have reasons to return to your home of residence after your allowed stay. Items like family, business, assets or work are valid reasons.

6) Plans after studies.
As a graduate of so so course, what are your plans wit the course(realistic plans) with long long or short terms possibility of achieving.

It Is also important you sound convincing on your SOP thats what increases your chances of an apprpval.
NB: following this rule does not guarantee an approval as people have gotten approved with less than this. Therefore do what you can with this and leave the rest to God.
