There are more civilized and formal way of making them know how much of your time they've wasted.

"You're lying" and "that's not completely true" are two sentences that mean the same thing but one sounds more respectfully.

This doesn't mean the company wasn't wrong for wasting his time, but he should take that feedback positively. BTW, I'm sure the job seeker wouldn't reply to a multinational like that anyways.

Perhaps for new job seekers.

Experienced applicants have jobs and other engagements, so they cant afford being delayed unnecessarily. Some companies will even consider to negotiate suitable interview time and mode with applicants but here thos one wanted to hire experienced people and treat them like they dont have jobs or engagement already by wasting their time.

don't mind them. They did same thing to me some years back, I was earning 250k as a facility manager with 6 years experience, an oil and gas coy advertised vacancy for same role with 6 years experience, I hurriedly applied, was called for the interview, with all the preparation. I was told salary is 75k, bro I wan cry, wasted my time, searches online for all the possible info I could, came so early, lied to my company, only to be offered 75k? I calmly flow with them, funniest thing, they offered me the job. I rudely rejected it.

I did an interview recently, about 4 stages. During the first stage, I told them about my salary expectation, and they proceeded as if they were cool it, only to give me a significantly lower offer with no desire to increase it. It was a waste of time to me. Just stop interviewing after the first stage if you know you cant meet the salary expectation

U might say he was rude but the company was also rude to have kept him waiting. The attitude of employers and HR to ask people to come for interview at 10am and interview won't start until 12 or 1pm, is very unethical and unprofessional. The fact that people are looking for work doesn't mean their time shouldn't be respected. The same company/employer or HR that can't keep to interview time that it set, will be harassing it's staff for late coming. What type of hypocrisy is that?

There's nothing wrong in putting the salary of the job in the job advert. It makes it easier for both the applicant and the employer. All these stupid question of how much do we pay u when u no how much u want to pay doesn't make sense. If u can pay 100k and the employee tells u 600k, will it make any difference?

Sometimes you have to be rude to them cos they can be so rude too. Why kept the people you want to interview waiting only to appear without any form of apologies. Nobody is a monopoly of ATTITUDE

Everybody want an upgrade no matter what u are currently earning, the salary range was not posted along side with the job description hence the reason he applied. But hearing what they got to offer after wasting his time without even an apology, they are worth insulting. I remember when I was still a fresh graduate, the company wrote 10am and d interview started 30minutes late and they apologized to everybody, multinationals company. But u see all dis peanut paying companies, they will use ur life. just know ur worth

I was 18, some guy came to the lobby while i was sitting and waiting, cleared and cleaned the table and i shouted to him oi! could i have a large coca cola and 2 doughnuts make it quick! Man! I have an interview to attend it turned out he was the manager who was to interview me. anyway! he gave me the job said he liked my atitude.

Not keeping to time speaks volumes about the company, it can be a red flag

And why can't recruiters be more transparent with their adverts and what they are offering instead of wasting people's time and resources without any compensation to ease the whole process, even for a rubbish job that they have already reserved for their side chick's elder brother

MY OPINION

In a civilized world, the recruiters erred in arriving late for the interview and would have apologized instead of playing any games. The sad thing about this issue is the unemployment in Nigeria has pushed the job-seeking Nigerians to beggars, who MUST endure any form of humiliation at the hands of the employers.

No doubt the interviewee was not professional enough but he deserved some bit of respect and regard.
