If you sent IRCC an urgent mail and got your PPR, consider yourself lucky.

I have come to believe that decision was already reached on those applications. If your application is not being reviewed or still under review, there's no amount of email you will send to IRCC that will make them facilitate your application.

In November 2021, I sent IRCC more than 40 emails and webforms. They acknowledged one of the webforms and told me my application was still under review. I repeated the same action in December and got a similar response.

This month alone, I have sent more than 100 emails to IRCC, still nothing.

Hello everyone ,

So thankful for your response on my previous enquiry .
Please I’m in a dilemma right now.

I don’t know if I should sponsor myself or make my mum be my sponsor.

My mum doesn’t stay in the country, she works in the US. Does it make sense that she sends her Nigerian bank statement and US bank statement . Hope they won’t deny me visa on the basis of not having ties to Nigeria .I don’t have family in Nigeria too.

Second option is to sponsor myself and look for a company that can pay me salary that will show in my statement and I can get leave letter from them too.
And state it that my mum is in Nigeria when she’s not.
Does it have effect on my status if I’m granted visa
Please which one is better .

Ps : I’m 25 years old.
Finished uni 2019.
Worked for 2 yrs in hr and my intended msc is also in employment relations memorial uni.

Send them a mail again and CC losagt@ethiopianairlines.com. My cousin booked at 365,800 one time and when he requested for a refund he got about 220.500. You can see the massive difference. It is what it is i guess.

So, I finally got my BVL/Correspondence letter today.

This is my timeline and the documents I submitted.

Application submitted; 28th October
Biometrics; 2nd November
Upfront Medicals; 15th October(submitted with application)
Medical Request; 23rd of December, I had submitted so I raised a webform with a new link my friend sent and they updated it on the 24th of December.
PPR; 5th January
BVL; 10th January

Documents Submitted-
Under Client Information;
Birth certificate
Degree Certificate
Police Certificate
Statement of Purpose
NYSC Certificate
Correspondence from places I’ve worked; (Aknowledgement letter and Employment letter for when I get back from my current job and a reference letter from my previous job)
My Current job is my dad’s company and I wrote in my SOP that I’ll be working there after I leave Canada and would subsequently take over the company when my dad retires.
Letter of Sponsorship from my dad.
University Transcript (BSc)
IELTS
Upfront Medical Form
Vaccination Card (Take this to your medical appointment instead)

Under Proof of Means of Financial Support;
Sponsor’s funds; mybankStatement(MBS) of two company accounts and one personal account, all my father’s. (40m)
CAC documents to back up company ownership claim
Reference Letters from all 3 Banks
School Receipt for 4k CAD deposit
Landed Property documents (3)

Personal funds; a fixed deposit certificate of 1.5 million, I explained in my SOP how I came about the money. I figured since I’m 25, I should have some funds of my own.

Also I did a table of content for the documents submitted at the end of the SOP before my final statement.

When I eventually travel in April, I’ll drop landing gist lol.
Thank you all for the helpful messages. I kept reading through the thread for ideas during my application.

Hello Munaedo

Lump sum becomes a reason for refusal when the applicant does not explain the source, reason and purpose of the sudden huge amount (lump sum) in the account.. The Visa officers are aware that many Nigerian applicants actually borrow to fund their accounts just to show they have money. (Demonstration Purpose).

Now in you own case, you have a source, a reason and the purpose of the sudden huge funds in your sponsor's account.. It is your duty to explain with convincing points on the said lump sum
just as you have explained here, and you must submit documents to back up your claims....

And to using your family as your home tie , it's a good move, but I will advise you apply with your less than a year baby, cos obviously your baby still needs you.. So you can go with your baby, then your hubby and your other kids can act as your home tie... Study permit application for you and Visitor Permit application for your baby..

Peace

Good evening House,
Pls I got my Letter of acceptance to study in Canada and I’m planning on applying for my study permit. I’ve got all my other documents ready, except for my SOP which I’m still battling with. Most importantly, my husband is my sponsor recently when I got my LOA he sold one of his properties, paid my fees & deposited d other in his account. However, my fear is that since it would be considered as lump sum by the VO what do you advise gurus in the house? Also my family would be my home tie because I won’t be going with the if I eventually get approval including my last baby that is less than a year old. Pls I need your the expertise of gurus here. Help a sister pls as my husband doesn’t understand the procedures, he thinks having the required amount is the main deal @ketima @frankrobbn @justmellow @makano @lekiboboe and other gurus. I’m actually new her (my first post)

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 20 by Obibaby: 7:30pm On Jan 10, 2022
Why order for it when you haven't received any response from IRCC yet? Besides your application is still at the early stage, it hasn't gotten to the point to even sending mails or webforms. You order for gcm notes when they have denied your application and you want to know their reason(s). So chill, let them respond to you first.

Good luck.

Congrats on crossing the first huddle (getting LOA). Now, lump sum isn't bad even though it raises eyebrows. Now lump sums becomes a problem when not properly explained and proof(s) provided for the VO to see. You mentioned he sold one of his properties, I guess there is/are documents that was exchanged between the buyer and the seller to authenticate the buying and selling. So, you need to explain that in details in your SOP, sighting date and selling price. Also state that it was from the money that your tuition was paid and the rest is in your spouse account solely for study purposes. Attach documents as regards that to Proof that the money wasn't borrowed for DEMONSTRATION PURPOSES. Again, your hubby needs to attach other things like business documents if a biz person or employment details to show he is or is established and won't be needing to sell property to be able fund you. Now if the later is the case, VO might think, what happens when he doesn't have property to sell, how then will he sponsor you.

As I learnt and advise people, first, be your own VO and imagine all the what if questions the VO might think, answer them by yourself, then come seek advise too.

Don't quiet get what you mean here as per the infant in the bolded, but please I would advise you apply with your last baby (visitor visa) who is less than a year old and still suckling.

Thanks a lot @ketima for your response & advice I really do appreciate. I’ll consider applying for my baby as well. Pls I’m still kindly soliciting for you assistance as to how to package other document for visa application. Thanks

Good day house and a big congratulations to those who have received their PPRs. Please how long does it take for eligibility review to start after application has been submitted?

It has no definite timeframe. Some submit and it starts after a week. While others will have their own start 3 or 4 months after submission. But have it at the back of your mind that some applicants eligibility can last months while some will just last hours like we witnessed today. Also note that the moment you submit, background check and info sharing will commence.

Hello Zubbyk,

So sorry for your refusal. But be rest assured that is just a temporary delay ok. Now, as others rightly said and as ell as you know, this a generic refusal reason, as such, it can't be used to ascertain what actually the reason for the VO's refusal. As we have always advocated here, ordering you note will help know the exact reasons/comments of the VO and help you/us to know how to tackle the refusal reason(s). So order your note and come back. We will surely guide you through. Never hesitate in reaching the gurus here for guide.

Thank you so much for the words of encouragement. I have done as advised

Dont apply for gcms note yet. Reason is because your eligibility review has not started. To get it started, keep disturbing them with mails daily till it starts. Then wait a while before applying for notes.
