The churches didn't birth the society we have today... On the contrary, the society birthed or corrupted the churches we have today. Same way it birthed the citizens and the government of today. The corrosion of our value system didn't begin at the doorstep of religion. Let's say the truth!

You are absolutely correct. However following the argument I quoted, it was on the context of Religion and I can boldly say that modern day Religion has contributed almost nothing to societal development. Maybe worldly stuffs don't matter or does it when it comes to acquiring properties and luxuries by so called Religious leaders? It is indeed both sad and laughable.
