Exactly! The team got potential. They ain't even playin em' Zaha and Pepe yet. They've technical problems tho.

They played Zaha O, I saw him

Eventually, they did not even play all that well. The Equatorial Guineans played better, just with poor end product

One thing I am almost certain 100% Odion Ighalo is absolutely 200% better than Sadiq Umar, EOD.

grin Y'all damn funny. He was having his AFCON debut and Super Eagles first team debut on the same night as a late substitute. This is his first time and all what you peeps do is criticize him as if he played the whole game. Bruvv, you too quick on this criticism shii. You already concluding Ighalo was better than him. Calm down, man. He still got lots of energy in store. He's talented. Sadiq will impress us.

You are talking nonsense...
Uzoho was invited after making 2 laliga appearance for Deportivo first team..he was playing in the Spanish third division then.. He later moved to the second division before ending up in Cyprus..

You are just as hypocritical as hour here and now theory.. You bring it up only when it suits your narrative...
Bloody snake....

You guys are wasting your time.

You want to enthroned mediocrity.

When you play in a low level league for one season you can say you are being discovered. For two seasons in you could say your unlucky but three it's because your not good enough.

You can't be anonymous mouse in a obscure league and then come to the SE and become Lion it's not happening.

You bring your quality to the SE you do not find it there .

So which quality did they use to bring Maduka to the Super Eagles?

Based on first half games, the standout teams have to be

Cameroon
Sierra Leone
Nigeria
Equatorial Guinea

I did not see the Mali and the Gabon games, so, I won't speak on the teams from those games. But from Round 1, these 4 teams stood out for me. Looking forward to Round 2 and a clearer picture.
Yeah your pick almost close to mine, cheesy
Mine is
Cameroon
Sierra Leone
Nigeria
CIV(that Max gradel goal touch my heart) grin

Damn. I'm surprised no one is talking about Côté D'ivoire. This team is basically the best AFCON team on "paper". They scored within the first 6 minutes. They look like the tournament favorites.
They were lucky to have won, EG skewed their chances in which they'd have won the game. They are not favorites

Well said sir ,however Sierra leone may not go far , they have poor strikers who wasted several chances against Algeria.

Can we pick the stand out teams that can make it to the semifinals?
Ok let's wait for second round of matches grin
It's too early to call at least for now. If for nothing the last AFCON taught us something, you can win all your group games and not make it past the R16 typical case of Egypt and Morocco

Nope. Ivory Coast dominated that game. They were just momentarily shaky at the back. Ivory Coast looked dangerous anytime they came forward, but it was almost as if the game was fixed. No one wanted to score.

You are right bro. Even though just like Onuachu I am not a fan of Sadiq due to theiR lanky nature and clumsy style of play, but I think Sadiq is getting an unfair criticism. How many minutes did he play? We are stuck with this attacking set up For the rest of the AFCON. Let's just watch them and see. Even Awoniyi was average in that game.

Mali also played very well. They outplayed the Tunisians.
Gambia also looked impressive.

They did not dominate anything bro, Equatorial Guinea looked more dangerous each time. At a point, I was wondering what happened to CIV's midfield.

Edu troubled them, that other guy that looks like Vidal troubled them as well, Haller was doing appearing and disappearing act, somebody did not even notice Zaha's presence. I'm not sure I can correctly identify Equatorial Guinea's goalie right now, but I can identify CIVs own, based solely on the amount of times I had to see him yesterday. Maduka will be so jealous of the screentime that man got.

That match was really a tough one. I do believe if the Ivorians get their tactics right, they'll be able to control the momentum in their remaining games. They got all the players they require to win.

Exactly, Chief. Sadiq isn't Onuachu. Sadiq contributes to the attack build up. He's not a striker that just stay up and wait for crosses, even though he thrives on crosses too. Check his stats in the Segunda. He has the highest assists amongst all our present Central Forwards.

Ndidi with the stats

People who complain that he isn't giving his best for the super eagles need to pay attention to this kind of stats. It's through these stats that we know how he gives his "best for Leicester". Unfortunately, national team games aren't usual fully statistically represented, so some of these details are often missed .

He will first of all have to prove Eguavon wrong .

He is not a bad player but his level is just where it is Segunda which a is simply not high.

In reality he is too poor quality for be the SE. There are Too many player's much better than him, l honestly would have preferred a top striker ftom local league.

I am sure if he you ask Basconvelli, to find a striker in the NPFL better than him he will bring 5 .

Let's call a spade a spade .

You just choose to always pick on sadiq which is not fair

You have been quiet about him for long and you had to wait till afcon ,I watched the game and he wasn’t bad as you said

You didnt watch Morocco in the last AFCON then, they dismantled other teams in their group. Won convincingly and played excellently well only to be pegged back by a 3rd placed Benin in the round of 16 so was Egypt and the case of SA.

Both teams played well but fluffed it when it mattered most. Only Algeria who fell into this category went on to win the competition

That was mostly the ending of the first half to the beginning of the second half. Watch the first and last 20 minutes and see how many clear cut chances Ivory Coast wasted.

Watching @Basco highlight of the Nig vs Egy match, i can boldly say CHIDERA EJUKE is a SELFISH PLAYER. He had Sadiq opened twice during the 3 highlights of Ejuke, he refused to pass the ball to him. On the third one, it was Iwobi & Sadiq, rather than pass to either of them, he chose self glory again. Upon that, he could not pick a decent angle on 3 different ocassions to bury his shots instead he was hitting it at the goalkeeper. Too damn selfish!
