Childhood pictures taken together even up to adulthood.
Also, it might be advisable for your sister to visit other countries before reapplying to the uk.
Cycloe:
Apart from birth certificate and WhatsApp conversation, what else do you suggest ?

Any advise on what’s best for her to reapply .

An unemployed person is an automatic flight risk and therefore needs to prove otherwise. How old is your sister? Is she in her 20-40s? She needs to be doing something. A business or has a career in which case, she’s in between jobs. Or is it due to extenuating circumstances such as health ? Is she over 50? Then she should prove her retired status. Her cover letter needs to carefully explain the circumstances of her unemployment, what she’s up to with evidence to substantiate. I also advise that she goes to a few other countries first.

Your sister needs to show strong tie to Nigeria. Having landed property is one of it. Showing family ties, like having children is school will help. She should get evidences that her kids are schooling here in Nigeria.

She needs to provide evidence of her relationship with the sponsor. If the sponsor is a sibling, birth certificates of her and her siblings will help. If a spouse, marriage certificate, children birth certificate and joint ownership of property will help.

She must provide her bank statement in addition to that of her sponsor.

In short, she must convince ECO that she will return to Nigeria.

When and where did she submit the application?

Thank you for this I will inform her. Her bank statement, how many months is ideal if she wants to reapply . And the source of funds too won’t it raise. Red flag . Her husband intend to put money in her account this time .
Is that okay? She submitted at ikeja around September and was just sent the mail . She has 3kids in Nigeria .

EJIOGBENIMI:
Good day everyone. please I need advice on my visa application and my visit to the UK.

I did my biometrics for a 6 months visit visa on 29 November (standard application) in Dubai. The reason for my visit is to write an exam (plab2) in January.

Unfortunately, all the candidates writing the exam in January and February have been directed to cancel their bookings. we were advised to book for later dates which is from July onward. I cancelled and I booked the exam for July.
My initial plan was to enter the UK on 10th January. Although, I haven't received the visa yet.
my concerns are:
1) Do i need to take any action as per the visa?
2) Do I still stand a chance to get the visa?, even if they find out that my exam, which was the reason for the application has been cancelled. Although, I have a new date, which is July?
3) If the visa is approved, it'll likely be expired before my exam date, should I notify them before travelling for the exam or I should travel first, then request for an extension, once i land in the UK?.
I have the mail from the GMC, directing all candidates in jan&feb to cancel. I also have the mail for the confirmation of my new date.
Good day everyone and thank you for the great job you're doing here.

So I received my visit visa on 3/01/2022. My visa would be valid until 03/07/2022.
Here is my concern. My new plab2 test date is 21/07/2022. so, the current visa will no longer be valid. I plan to be in the UK before the end of June.

Should I apply for a new visa? (I don't even know if it's possible to apply for a new visit visa when you have an existing one) If yes, when would you advise me to do that, given the current delay and uncertainty).
I'll be needing my passport on the test date. If I will be extending the visa over there, the process must be concluded and I must receive my passport before the test date. Is this possible in 2 weeks?
Thank you.

It's very unfortunate situation you found yourself.

I think you should apply for a new visa 2 months before the current visa expires and state the reason for your application and date for your exam. If you have money, you can apply for 2years visa in your next application to avoid all these stress of visa applications. You should get it.

All the best in your exam.

she even has kids and husband. Well they feel since she is unemployed she can find a job over there and decide not to come back now. Also you didnt submit any proofs that she is really your sister. It just looked like someone decided to provide her with documents to aid her travel.
If u try the husband giving her allowances every month u can do that for say 6 to 7 months. Let it be a substantial amount and there has to be proof of origin of funds as to where the husbnad is gettin money from.
She needs to also put her husband and kids infront of d situation, tht she cnt abandon her kids nor marriage to go and become illegal on d uk. Present birth certificates of all kids and their school documents - report slips etc till now and presne t her marriage certificate and picture etc.
Then u and her being sisters, she needs to also present pictures and proof of actual relationship between urslvs.
Also expressly state why u are sponsoring her visa to come visit. Eg you have not seen ur sister in a long while due to covid and need to see her. U ppl are like best friends. Show evidence of how u ppl talk everyday. Screenshots of video calls between yourselves bla bla. Make a project of why your sister has to come visit. Divert all d attention from unemploymnet status and concentrate on why she is goin back to Nigeria.
Also change the narrative that she is a home maker who delights in training up her children. So she just does petty businesses here and there as well as is taken care of by her husband. This is allowed. In the UK not all families have both spouses working.
Also consider how u yourself got into the UK. As long as it was legal, then u re good to go. good luck

Sorry to learn that after such a long wait the desired mail is not what you or your sister received.

Answering to your questions
Ideally applicants are required to submit 3-6 months bank statements.
If her husband is to put money into her account he could/may want to write a letter of sponsorship with that, stating he has made available such funds for the sole purpose of her intended trip.

My input on how your sister could delineate her reason(s) for being unemployed are written here after, however the applicant's circumstances is/are best known to her and as such, she must present her situation as present, thus disregarding this or any op's idea if it isn't the case.

Her Husband would/may need to write a letter of sponsorship that as a couple, they reached an informal or formal agreement that she be a housewife, to look after the kids and household whilst the husband remains the sole bread winner of the family, hence reason for the monthly upkeep to her and why she is not working. In doing this and if applicable and dependent on whatever amount(s) the husband/family remits to her, he/they may wish to indicate in specifics amount allocated to her(the applicant just denied) for personal upkeep and amounts allocated for their dependents(kids) and household(Note, this may include her husband submitting his personal bank statements/pay-slip as well and some details of job as to how he is able to singularly hand his role). This is to avert, the ECO for future application to doubt if the funds made available to her is indeed hers or for her and the upkeep of their dependent kids, and as such, why would the applicant want to spend the part or most of the funds for her personal traveling.

Also, while providing evidence of kids, and their present circumstances as students or as applicable, it will do good if the applicant is able to provide that while she would be away for a visit to the UK, her husband or other family relative like mother, mother in-law or whoever, will stand in, to see to, the day to day well-being of the kids, again this could be some explanation the applicant's husband does in his letter of sponsorship to show his support, not just financially but on other grounds, suchlike; could help answer, that whilst she would be away, she has careful thoughts about her family and not deserting the welfare of her family, i.e if she is not traveling with the family.

The applicants would do no wrong in including this details in her application in the further detail section or on a cover letter in compliment with a note from the applicant's husband, this should bolster some form of togetherness of the family.

Pls put into thoughts these, and few more as earlier advised by others on here and as you would be advised by some more in the future, and guide your sister for a successful application next time.

All the best.
Regards.

In my experience with visa extensions (US), you will have your passport with you throughout the process, when your extension is approved you will just get a letter and not a new sticker. I will recommend you travel and extend your visa but that's my personal opinion.

Now you got your visa, you should have some certainty that you are on track.

Again do you need the stress of worrying if/if not you would get a response within 2 weeks when you should be focused on preps for the exams with less stress?
And if you get a response after 2 months, you want to start explaining that on your CV to the gmc reason for the medical gap when applying to to get a license or jobs? Though, that is somehow of a reasonable reason, that you took the medical gap becasue you where in the UK and all the grounds you may/would have to bolster your case; but then, think about it this way, that you would have probably been better off still earning some incomes(during that medical gap) back in Dubai and have less about to explain in your CV in the future.

My knowledge about an extension is shallow, then few cases i know, wasn't in applicant's favour. And this sincerely is no intent to scare.
All options are yours to tick and rule out, you understand your circumstances better and would do the best in your interest.

cutebear:
You have a good travel history. Go and register your business. I'm sure you have some deposits in your account that are more than 88k. You can't tell them that it's from a business when you can't prove it with registration. So, register the business, open a business account and start running it for the next few months. You should also start paying yourself monthly salary from the business account to your normal salary account (pay the same amount to yourself on the exact day of each month). This will show that you have multiple streams of income. Remember, based on several refusal letters we've seen on this thread, the ECOs believe that having a business account doesn't prove that you have access to the money. That is why you should pay yourself salary. Also try to keep your salary account as clean as possible. No random large deposits from people. Let that one go through your business account.
In addition, try to have sales invoices/receipt of sales. You need as much proof as possible because let's be honest, 88k salary job is not a strong tie to Nigeria. I was once denied when I was even earning about 350k with several work bonuses in millions.
Also, are you married? Do you have children? That can also support our application
Hello, Do you mind I email you ? Thank you

Good day sis/bro,

well, that is where some cracks MAY lie(but this is not exclusive), she would need to provide her personal bank statement to support her claims that the funds are available to her for her use(and i do not doubt if the hubby does so or not, I am the least person and in no position to do so), add husband letter if possible(advisable), his id to proof identity and other mentioned ideas by gurus on here.

Pls read the ops you have had on about your refusal, have the previous application forms and refusal handy, tick ideas you think would help that were missing, look at the VO's concerns, gather necessary documents and evidences you have and re-apply.

If any questions whilst doing the reviewing and re-applying, you can drop it here, best BEFORE submission.

My perspective: Unless the husband is the sponsor or she is travelling with their children, he does not need to write a letter. An adult does not need the permission or consent of another adult to travel unless the said adult is dependent on the other adult to provide resources for the trip, then the letter will be more like willingness to sponsor as opposed to a consent letter.

Regardless of how you look at it unless you come from wealth, an unemployed person from a developing country seeking to vacation in a developed country is a red flag! Especially if the said person does not have a decent travel history to show a certain kind of lifestyle.

Another way to present her case is rather than saying she is unemployed, say that she is a full-time housewife and she receives a monthly salary from her husband. I believe being a housewife is a full-time job. State the monthly stipend/income she gets from her husband, if it is too low an alternative is for him to increase the amount, let her wait for 6-12 months and reapply, after building her account and having some savings. Add a birth certificate if the blood sister is the sponsor and is truly her sister, it doesn't cost anything to scan and show that both of them had the same parent, mother or father.

Just an important question/knowledge sharing needed please.

10 Years Bank Completed Last year so new Family Visit intend to be submitted next month.

Would the Ban still be taken into consideration ?

Also so i need to complete a Yes to have you been deported or banned in the last 5/10 years question ? As this is over 10 years anyway.

10 years ban is completed and circumstance has changed , so I am considering inviting my brother and his family on a family visit to the UK . Just wondering if there will be a noise again around the 10yrs ban

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by leef2022:
Me, I personally don't get some and why all the red flags here and there.

employed/unemployed-red flag.
low income, average income, excess income-red flag.
no family ties(why would return)/family ties(you maybe taken as suspect with intent to abandon your family)-red flag.
travel/no travel history-red flag.
etc

Of course they are very much aware that citizens of all developing countries would always want to migrate or visit somewhere else for greener pastures. That is simple for human nature to survive.

The last time i checked Nigeria as a country have no tinge of red on her flag....

The golden rule is and applies to all, the "onus" is on every applicant to indicate intent of visit and exist after visit and that he/she would not abuse the visa requested; regardless of colour, social status and what maybe included.

Like no one cares about a green or white flag out there?
