The new FGN bond should pay up to 14%

The new issue may attract up to 14% but who get mind to commit funds till 2042, I'm not talking about investment companies. Ten years is okay for me as an individual but that 19 years dey do me somehow

There is a vibrant secondary market for bond Investments, very few people hold till maturity except for pension fund managers, mutual fund managers and insurance companies

I presume you are applying for credit.

Read here... https://www.vanguardngr.com/2021/09/loans-in-nigeria-how-to-check-your-credit-score-and-also-improve-it/

How to check your credit score

Every Nigerian is entitled to one free Credit report every year from any registered Nigerian Credit Bureau. To get a free credit report in Nigeria, use any of the following sources:

Dial the USSD code *565*8# on your mobile phone to get instant Credit reports from CRC Credit Bureau. This service is currently available to MTN subscribers only. Read about ALAT USSD Code and how to use them
Get a free credit report from Nigeria’s first independent licensed credit bureau. You only get one free report per month.

Interesting. Good such services are finally out there.

Having an independent and robust credit rating system is the bedrock for getting stashed up credit in banks into the real economy at reasonable rates

Inflation and devaluation has made this table outdated. I don't think you can be comfortable with 25M nor even rich.

Assuming I have 25M as capital to pursue any biz of my choice.

- To return half of dat annually, I would be working tirelessly meaning no comfort at d end of d day.

- To return 20 to 30% same as above, maybe a little less work, but still no comfort.

- To return 13% passively, it will amount to 270k per month. U won't be living comfortably on that either.

My pessimistic views...

U may be right but in my own case,I return more than 1million in some months. Like last year,I made 13.8 million using 22million capital.
But if u chose paper investment,at 13% per annum,270k would be returns per month.

In conclusion, the above still remains my reality until further change in the attitude of the people I do business with.

You did well, at 62% of capital, u outperformed most companies listed on d NSE. But, I am almost sure you worked ur ass off. It wasn't easy, u had to put in a lot of ur time in some activities you did rather not.

The 270k in the bold depends on where you are living.

I realised that it is not what you do that gets response from the other person or persons but how you do it. You can practically do anything as long as you find the way to do it.

Why am I saying this? Let's assume CBN and the people in power had magical powers, in the sense that they can take your money away, a fraction of it at least, so far it is Naira denominated.

If the CBN were to take 40% of your money, the one in d bank, d one in your wallet even the salary u will be paid going forward, people would go crazy, riots will take over the streets, in short wahala go dey.

But, that is just what happened in 2021, Naira was devalued and there was no reaction from the people. If you are in doubt deducting 40% from everyone present and future is exactly the same as devaluing by 40%. At least to the average man on the streets.

So, u can do about anything, so far you have a stylish way to do it.
What then is the solution for the common man and the average investor like me and the people on this thread?

It has always been there when you need loan and you don't have a good job in reputable companies or good collateral.

They share information with utility companies, estate management firms, your children's school etc.

Hi guys, please what do you think about these rates offered by my bank? If available, please kindly recommend a better alternative

Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by skydiver01: 11:01am On Jan 18, 2022
If the rates/yields are attractive to you then proceed. If they are not attractive to you, then communicate what is attractive to you since you already bank with them.

Name of bank, the rates are not attractive.

2050 should give a yield of over 13%.

i dont understand why some Nigerians feel someone will be working for them and giving them return on investment

why cant he plant the corn for himself and make all the profit? ok so you will be at your house sleeping and you expect a nigerian to be trading forex for you or planting corn for you or rearing goats for you just to give you return on investments? as per say na ur papa abi

una go soon learn
.
Guyman02:
People continue to fall for this easy scam.
What they do is to acquire a single farm land, plant rice or corn or fish and poultry worth for example N10m, they show their mumu subscribers this one farm and tell them that they have something similar in Kafanchan, Kebbi, Shiroro etc with beautiful pictures in their website and brochures.
They will use this single farm valued at N10M to get N500M from 'investors' who will be paid huge interest by Ponzi scheme from the monies of the new entrants until the bubble will burst when the Ponzi reaches its peak.
The farm will quickly be sold to a buyer with all the documents and everyone disappears only to return with a new name in another location but if the money fleeced is huge they relocate to abroad with their families
