His is holding a Belgium passport, and has been living in Uk since 2008. He married the lady who already has a child b4. They both applied but the child was refused and the wife granted.
does this means he's not the biological father of the child? If that's the case, they may want something to tie the child to him, aside the wife. Maybe proof of adoption etc.

Hi everyone been ff for a while and the advice here is priceless .
So sorry this might be a bit long
I am a bit confused about something and need a bit of advice pls, My mum is applying for a 2yr visa and has her biometrics 2mao ,she currently earns about 350k per month , after printing her statement starting august , opening balance was about 800k which is obviously above her salary (a combination of some money left from July and a gift ) the statement doesn’t show the deposit as it was done in July but it shows that most of the money was spent and regular sal paid in as usual afterwards, I am concerned they might question why she had an opening balance higher than her sal. Do you advice we keep it as it is or submit a 5months statement to keep it clean.

PS: her trip is not being funded from her sal, it will be funded from her savings paid into the account which has documents to back it up.
about the opening balance thing, I assumed the account wasn't recently opened? If it wasn't, that means she has been receiving salary with it for some time, which means it is not abnormal to have money saved inside from accumulation of previous funds paid into it.
However, it is always good to make sure you keep your account as clean as possible when applying.

Yeah it’s an old account, she’s been working there since 1999, I guess she will just submit it as it is and keep our fingers crossed, thanks

I was banned by the bot yesterday while trying to reply Ask..naija. It seems that's why you've not been getting replies to your queries.

I am sorry to hear that u were banned. I guess it was because of that email about comp-laint. Sent email to public enquiry, filled complaint form, also sent mail to complaint.

Got one emails saying they don't assess application and if the letter says i have no right to appeal, i should consider reapplying. Please what suggestion do you have ?

The process of applying is too stressful. Not only the time but money involved. This matter is a simple one and if there was a way to get them to review, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

There's nothing wrong with having an opening balance higher than your salary. Who is financing her trip? Are you the one or is she the one? Hope there is adequate proof of financial solvency.

@cutebear, thanks she is sponsoring herself from her savings, she saves with a cooperative in her workplace and it shows in her payslips. We have also gotten letters from them as well.

Thanks. I appreciate. But, is there any specific lab for it there in Nigeria or it can be done anywhere.

Use accredited lab for the DNA. So the test is to establish the relationship between his wife and his stepchild?

He can order the test from UK. The lab will arrange or will them where to go for sample collection.

Use a testing laboratory that:

- has ISO/IEC17025 accreditation
- follows the Home Office ‘collection process’

You can check to see if any of these government accredited testing laboratories has ISO/IEC17025 accreditation. Use the one with the accreditation. You can call them to ask. You can also check gov.uk for more information about DNA testing.

- Alpha Biolaboratories (AlphaBiolabs)

- Cellmark (Orchid Cellmark Ltd)

- Complement Genomics (Dadcheck)

- DDC Laboratories

- DNA Analysis at King’s College London

- Endeavor DNA Laboratories

- Eurofins Forensic Services Limited

- Eurofins Medigenomix Forensik GmbH (DNA Legal)

- Genetrack Biolabs

- Genomics for Life (Paternity for Life)

- IDna Genetics Limited (Anglia DNA Services)

- Key Forensic Services Ltd

- NorthGene

These laboratories are accredited until the Ministry of Justice reviews the list in May 2022.

How much it costs
Testing laboratories set their own fees. Check their websites for details.

* Tell the lab that the test is for immigration purposes

You guys are not being realistic. I've explained everything that needs to be explained. You don't know that these ECOs think far and wide. If you are serious about getting the visa, start reading from at least page 400 of this page so that you can learn from people's mistakes.
Instead of learning from several refusals, why not learn from people's stories on this thread.

@Switch900 you are single and you claim to earn 300k on a monthly basis. Your account balance should be healthy and you should be able to FULLY sponsor yourself for a trip to the UK since you earn very much above the average Nigerian. Also, don't even try to claim that you plan on just sitting down in your cousin's house in the Uk because it sounds unrealistic.

madam/sir i am not apply for a visa, i got my 2 years visa renewed last week. That person said his cousin will accommodate him, and that he is paying for flight alone. Fine we understand that the 300k he wants to spend is not realistic and he can increase that amount, but the ECO still count you staying with someone as “sponsor” which doesn’t mean he can’t sponsor himself

Hello everyone. Please I have a question. For parents coming over to UK to visit, how do they go about it? Do they need a letter of invitation? Any advise is welcome please.

Also, has anyone who applied for a student visa on January 14th heard anything?
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by cutebear: 8:38pm On Jan 26, 2022
Why not just improve your finances? As someone who has been working for many years, the ECO won’t be surprised to see several millions in your account. So, even if your budget for the trip is 1.2 million, it shouldn’t be a problem if you have enough savings and properties. Also, don’t forget the ECO expects you to also have a substantial amount of savings left to take care of your family when you return.

In my opinion, you need to relax and reevaluate your economic/financial profile because with all the explanations you’ve been giving since, your application doesn’t sound convincing enough that you plan to return to Nigeria.
You can also decide to build your travel history and even tour other countries in the meantime.

can you post the refusal letter? So the child is not yours that means the child was rightly refused? Or have you formally adopted the child? Do post the refusal letter or copy and paste the wordings so we can understand

That's really frustrating. But when is your traveling date cos I have to travel in 2 weeks. I'm afraid the visa won't be out till after my intended date of travel which will render my visa. If this happens can we apply for a refund or compensation. Can anyone help with this enquiry
BarbieKogi:

Just a general delay. Did biometrics on 24th November, I haven’t received any mail so i went to tls to check, joined the collection queue, so they checked and told me it wasn’t ready. I should go and wait for their mail.
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by cutebear: 9:45pm On Jan 26, 2022
No refund or compensation. I applied November 17th, my travel date was December 22nd.
Many people are still waiting from October. There’s nothing that can be done unless you decide to withdraw your applicatoon (no refund).

Wahala! But taking 3 months to process a visa supposed to be processed within 15working day is going to be a monumental failure. Very unfair.
Thank you for your contribution .

How do I get my mum's passport to be delivered via courier. We didn't apply for this service initially but the stress involved in the collection is unwarranted. We tried collection by proxy, but the rep wasn't given.

Is there a link to apply for courier service when the passport is ready for collection

I need a response please, any help??

Yes & No.
Yes- If you/sibling or any relative resident in the UK would be sponsoring their intended visit. Then the rep would have to extend to your parents an invite or and a sponsorship letter.
No- If your parents are self-sponsoring their trip, then they need no invite.

Student visa- Yes, but you would need to be an applicant or active follower of the student thread to know of updates and visa/refusal updates.

Good morning everyone
I have been following threads here over a long period time. Am always impressed on how issue are being resolved here.
I planned visiting the UK in April as my niece is inviting, she has provided me with all necessary documents even with a statement of substantial amount. As for my own statement, i earn 150k monthly, also doing uber business as a side hustle, my account closing balance currently is 1.9m. My my issue now is, money from my other business are being paid directly into same account for my salary. Also, there are some other lager deposits in my account few months back, some were labelled while others weren't. Please, is it best for me to apply now? Since she has a good income and statement, has her own house over there. Basically, she will be taking care of all my needs over there, just that will be paying for only flight ticket.
NB: Am married with a kid
Your suggestions will be highly appreciated

Good Morning all

Please is it advisable to get a lawyer to write to the embassy here and request for a review. In my case, there is a clear error, but i have been denied right to appeal. I have applied twice and don't want to go through that process again.

Will getting a lawyer to write them help? Has anyone done it before? Whats the process ?
