Good afternoon House. Pls I’m a first time applicant trying to put documents together for my study permit. My sponsor has all documents required of a sponsor except for Tax Clearance Certificate. Though he said he has applied but it’s yet to come out. Pls should I go ahead and apply and send d Tax Cert via webform when it comes out or wait until it comes out? My admission is for May and I maybe running short on time. Pls gurus in the house guide me @makano, @justmellow @ketima and others pls help me out as you response would be greatly appreciated

You do not need tax clearance to apply for study permit to Canada.

Greetings my people

Will a delay in capturing my biometrics cause a significant delay in getting a study permit decision from the Canadian embassy.

I submitted my study permit application on the 28th of January and I booked a biometric Monday this week in Stockholm. Unfortunately, a few minutes before I arrived at the venue, I got a call from the officer in the office.
The babe said they were told to close the office till further notice.
All their staff catch COvi19, including herself.

Which kind wahala b this. Had to turn back.

I am waiting for when they will resume again.

Is there another email address being used for London and Accra?

The email addresses that bounced back were the following:

ldnimmigration@international.gc.ca
ACCRA
accraimmigration@international.gc.ca

Please is there another email used for these locations?
Kindly help @makano, @lekiboboe @frankrobben

Hello good evening, please I have a serious confusing problem. I recently got admission into Fanshawe college to study international business management, a graduate certificate program. However a friend, whose we both got the same offer, recently changed to PSW (Personal Support Worker), and advices me to do same as this is more suitable for easier post graduate work permit and offers more potential job opportunities. I was considering doing this change until another friend advised me not to, as I shouldn’t pay such huge amount on such a course (PSW) . What do you advice please? Is PSW a good program and do you advice I change from IBM to PSW?

You don't have a problem, in my opinion. Your previous education/work experience should determine what course you'll use to apply for your Study permit. The fact that your friend switched to PSW doesn't mean the same program will suit your own application. About the PGWP, you can't decide which one gets more job opportunities based on hearsay. I personally think you should go with your initial course, especially if it shows career progression, that's more important to get your SP at this point. BTW, also going to Fanshawe, an IT course though. All the best!

I believe you are given 90 or 30days to have it done. You might have to wait or visit another biometrics center.

Your application will be paused till the biometrics is done

Please is Driver's Licence a national identity document? How do I address this part in my application?
Yes it is.
It is amongst the list of valid primary IDs.
These are the only recognized forms of primary IDs issued in Nigeria:
International Passport
Permanent Voter's Card
National ID card
Drivers License

If you think your case is cogent, this is an opportunity.
Many factors can lead to a low GPA. Also, if there are ways to show that you have a potential for a higher GPA if not for circumstances, (e.g. you won awards for excellence at workplace, you gained research experience and published a paper) , you can also use them to corroborate your case.

Good day @Phatkayconcept,
Booking for medicals for me is one of the easiest things to do.
Based on my experience..... I booked for an upfront medicals at IOM Ikeja.
The best way to book for an upfront medicals is by sending them an email. This is the email address (iomlagosmedicalbooking@iom.int)
The template,
Good day I would like to book for an upfront medicals on..put your preferred date... What I can just advise is to make the intro short.
After this you should get an auto-reply stating different things sha but the one I want you to note is if you want us to book you faster kindly reply this email with your details below... What you need to submit is in your auto reply...Make sure you provide your details under that email it would be quicker that way, also you would put the preferred date in which you want the medicals to be conducted
* Note: IOM opens from Monday to Thursday.

I don’t know much about schools but I applied to SAIT(Southern Alberta Institute of Technology). Admission process is quite easy. They offer a variety of courses…

By the way it’s sis not bro *smiles

Please, I have a question. Turns out my brother is moving to Calgary. So I want to settle for SAIT too.. I need some information

1) what did you use to show proof of English proficiency.
2) when filling application you used your waec right? How did you grade your result on the application portal before submitting transcript
3) what transcript did you submit
4) did you pay admission acceptance fee before getting your ppr?

Sorry for the inconvenience, if you’re not comfortable answering on here. I could mail you

Hi, please I am a first time applicant. I have an admission offer for Post graduate diploma in accounting. However, I have completed my BSc in Information technology. I have worked with different companies but my current job is just 4 months now with a financial institution. Can I apply for my study permit with a post graduate diploma offer in accounting given my IT background?
Also, can the 4 months of work experience in the current company be a problem if I apply this month?
Thanks

How can u link the bolded together. Why didnt you go for an IT program.

4months isnt enough justification to seek further studies but including your work experience during NYSC and industrial training can add an edge

You can not get a student number without an actual admission letter.

It appears there are not many ppr's this week. The VO's may be reserving the ppr's for next week. I prophecy that we will have a rain of ppr's next week starting from Monday in Jesus name. Mine will be among the 1st in Jesus name
