The protection given to pets is generally different to livestock and pests. If you are breeding mice or rats in your home then sooner or later expect code enforcement to show up at your door but nobody gives a flip if you bred 10 cats or dogs. We all have opinions and feelings but those don't matter when it comes to the law!

Once you sold your pets to be slaughtered at the abattoir, it is morally acceptable in all standard, but when a pets in the home is mistreated like Zouma did, that is a cruelty to animal !!
M y mother has a cow and goats as Pets, but once it is sold to the abattoir, I wont bother what transpires at the other end.
Zouma should have trade off the cat at abattoir and it makes no difference even if the cat was mistreated at the abattoir !!!
