NkanAkpanika:
The 8.4km IBB drainage project undertaken by the Government of Akwa Ibom State, assisted by the World Bank under the National Erosion Watershed Management Project(NEWMAP) is progressing steadily.

Massive work is ongoing from the Secretariat to Uyo Mechanic Village, Atan Offot, Ring Road 2 to Aka Etinan all the down through Goodluck Jonathan Boulevard and eventually the outfall of the drainages network at Mbikpong Ikot Edim in Ibesikpo Asutan.

It’s beautiful, right?

If the gutters can’t clean themselves, how many people have been employed by the governor for this and other government functions?
Do you know

What are the main exports of Akwa Ibom to the world?
How does the state compare with others in VAT

Why aren't you telling the full truth? This drainage project is a collaborative effort between the World Bank and the Akwa Ibom State Government.

It is worth about 19.1 billion naira (according to the exchange rate then) and signed in March 2019.

I know not everyone knows the details but some of us know the fine details of this project.

You are deliberately making it look like it's the state government (and, by extension, Gov. Udom Emmanuel) bankrolling it singlehandedly.

It's almost 2 years and the project should be past this stage because the money was released by the World Bank almost immediately.

It's right there in the OP that it's a collaborative project between AKS and the World Bank.

I must have missed that. Most government media reportage seem to devious exclude that point when they praise-sing the Governor. And the always skip the amount involved.

Still, that project is slowly and poorly executed given the amount and time involved.

In fact, as at the end of 2019, no gutter had been dug at IBB Avenue. As at December 2022 when most of us traveled home for the Yuletide, the drainage at IBB (the eye of the project) was not even 2/5 done.
