There are 2 categories of Visiting Visas. The regular visiting visa before covid and the family reunification vv. I do not think the later is up to 224 days, they are most likely referring to the former as family reunification has always been given priority even in the midst of Covid #Myobservation

Check online you will see. I actually knew becos my MP told me after he called IRCC with regards to my spouse application. He did becos i seeked his advice on applying through the new portal becos i was tired of the wait. Its 31weeks today. I also confirmed myself just to be sure he wasnt playing a fast one on me

The New family unification portal is meant to bring families together based on Justin Trudeau Mandate letter to the new immigration minister. They created the portal to bring families together as quickly as possible but our people bastardized it. People who don't have family members in Canada are now using the portal for tourist visa application. Those with pending SOWP are also jumping into the new portal. What they don't know is that all these TRV applications we are flooding the IRCC go to only one immigration department in Kenya with limited manpower, hence the shooting up of the processing times. We need to endure the mess we created for ourselves.

@skull4eva at what extent do they verify a Canadian account .... do they have something close to my bank statement ...i used screen shots of my wifes account which doesnt have the exact amount there presently....from 18k CAD i guess its less half that sum presently...

I understand your point of view you want to be fully aware of what you are up against before you start but sometimes you might not get the opportunity of seeing the very end from the start, and what works for mr A might not be applicable to Mr B. Haven said that i will try and shed some lights on some of your questions.
Moving to canada without ielts is possible as most schools dont require it for admission because you are from an English speaking country the worst case senerio is getting a proficiency of english language letter from your institution and so far you dont want to apply for visa through the nigerian student express route.
It is possible to get PR after studies depending on the length of your program as that determines the length of your Post graduate work permit which subsequently in one way or the other determines you ability to get PR
You can apply for visa on your own without the help of an agent I did mine on my own and with the help of this trend too. Most people have been defrauded by the so call agent of darkness so do it yourself. it saves u alot of stress of even getting banned after not responding to procedural fairness letter when issued one due to lack of coherence in the submitted documents.
The standard guidiance i will suggest is to join the canada study permit visa forum on nairaland and read the trend from the begining you will gain a lot.
To fast track your application the nigerian student express is a way, doing upfront medical before you submit the application as well as using My bank statement method those could help facilite a quick response from IRCC. Although nothing is sure with them either.
The last question getting a job as a student is difficult and not difficult depends on your type of job and also on the kind of network of friends and colleagues you have. If you keep friends and mingle well you will get informed on which job is available both on campus and off campus per time. I got my first job 5days after i entered canada as a kitchen attendant in a restaurant despite the fact that i was a lecturer back then in nigeria, i put that in my pocket and faced my new phase of life. So it depends on your type of job and ideologies. On accomodation, this also depends on information as well as how fat your purse is.
