Try to have a good LinkedIn profile, and apply for available jobs.

For my strategy, when I so see an opening, I add the recruiter to my connections(using LinkedIn premium) then message them on my interest to work with their firm and how well my profile fits.

For the Top paying one's, be ready to solve data structures and algorithms problems..

I am a Self taught front end dev.
HTML, CSS, Java(basic), version control, PHP(basically form use), Email marketing, Cloud Hosting

Started my job search this month. (February)
Jnr front end (keyword) on uk indeed

Been getting so many rejections and "unfortunately' mails.
Not sure why..

Had to build a portfolio website for myself and
Solicited to build a 1 page responsive site for random people for free just to add to my portfolio.

A Devop friend told me I don't need to know all the codes. I only need to know enough to get me the job..

Previously I restricted my search to Manchester (I'll be relocating soon).
Now I will have to spread my tentacles even beyond Europe.

I will also create a LinkedIn profile or learn how to use the premium version.

I hope someone Learns from my steps.
I am open to more tips and recommendation.

we're both moving in the same direction. Exp. pay for blockchain dev is far higher than 8.5k though

I haven't landed a job yet, still learning solidity, I recon the pay is within that range based on ads I see on Glassdoor.

Good start. Look up Leetcode and if possible buy a premium account for him there make he dey learn. It will be the best investment in his life. Bear the cost of the premium o. Trust me you WILL NOT REGRET IT

I was around his age when I started learning coding. If you get enough Data to download videos I can share some MIT materials that he should can also use. We are talking really huge files o. 6GB, 8GB.

Freelance. Pay was paltry and inconsistent at first, but after a 2 years or so, I have many steady, well paying clients and now have time for almost nothing else. I usually expect $4000~$5000 monthly. Some months lower/higher than others. Most of my work is strongly numerical and there's quite a bit of data science. Occasionally some web development. I have a product that I've been working on for a few months now, hopefully I'll be done with it by the end of next month and with good enough marketing I dream of fetching $1000,000 every month.

I just get IBM Data Science Professional Certificate in Dec 2021, I have been struggling to get job on Upwork,but no luck yet. I can use python,SQL,pycaret for ML,what do you suggest I do differently to get jobs?

These are people who really know their onion. I hardly respond here but, this really made me comment. We all at one point learn, watch tutorial and the truth is that, we are even all still learning. In my own field, I finished a regression analysis project for a German based student (Cameroon by origine) In fact, the questions keeps coming every day... The R-squared need to improve, we need to remove and log the variables.... All and all like that, my brother. Stack over flow was my saving point. And one thing I also understand is that, researching and googling is also part of learning. Learn, practice solve problem and you can have a mentor if you think you aren't fit to stand strong. Concerning job or gig, everyone know how he's fending for that. Some are through recommendation, some via online search. Not everyone apply for company. Some are making it big without sending CV to anyone.

Also, it's one thing to know how to do the whole tech stuff it's another to be confident in your skill. .

Put your self to test while undergoing training.

Pick up difficult challenge.

Don't leave your codes for too long else your codes will leave you. .. .

For the "from Zero" beginners.
IT field can be likened to learning a new language.

Learn the insults first( the basic)
Then gradually move to greetings
Then a sentence.

Boom!!!!!
