Hope you liked the train ride las las?
yes it was very good and comfortable, the only issue I had was the speed and there are not enough train stations especially at major areas.

For example if I am going from Ikorodu Lagos to challenge in Ibadan. It is uneconomical for me to board a bus going to alagomeji, then enter train that would take me to omi adio or moniya, which would in turn cost me extra money to board a cab back to challenge

I'm glad it was comfortable.

Yeah, that's a Big issue. There aren't enough train stations at major areas. Hopefully, the Federal Government look into this matter and act accordingly. lipsrsealed

Oh that's a really lot of stress. shocked

Boarded the train from Ibadan to Lagos yesterday. Very comfortable and neat.

Only downside is that the train was so slow.

Ujevwu is not in Warri. Is under Ughelli south. You can as well say Ughelli
Re: Share Your Train Ride Experience In Nigeria by JubrinElSudan: 8:25am On Mar 02, 2022
Wednesday last week I went to Ujevwu Station to meet up the morning train, got there and saw massive crowd (later learnt that new corps members went to camp that day) and I was almost regretting why I didn't go to GIGM and enter Abuja bus. They said they have stopped selling tickets for morning ride, I was about going back when I saw some people entering the train via another way, I joined them. Turned out to be the engine room, long story short, they charged us 4k and it was when we got to Ajaokuta, they managed to smuggle us into the coach. Got to Itakpe and took a bus to Zuba 2k5. Coming back, I was early enough to get a ticket back to Warri

I really have no experience about trains in Nigeria, when i was in kano,i heard about the new railways and i wanted to board one to the east only to discover that there was none going to any part of the east. I was so disappointed because it meant that i could only use the road since the Enugu intl airport was undergoing renovation. Till date there are still no rail roads to the east.

Re: Share Your Train Ride Experience In Nigeria by Edoziesmart(m): 8:37am On Mar 02, 2022
It seems we Igbos are no longer part of this country. Cus I don't see the reason train is no longer working in this part of the country. Even the eastern zonal headquarters of railway station in Enugu has turn to a refuse dump.

Meanwhile train travelling is very good and more secured. I really enjoyed conveying from Enugu to Aba around 2002 when we still have a working train station in the east. Though it was slow cus the train spoilt on the road severally before we reach Aba railway station in factory road. But in all it was a fun trip.

Is there Lagos to Kano train?

Yes, there is.

First class ticket is 5k, second class is 2700(to Kaduna). (Na that old train way oyinbo dash us grin )

It's a 2 night journey. From Friday to Sunday.

I boarded the second class coach at Agege station, Lagos. The journey started well until we got to offa kwara state, that was when the first issue came up it was fixed after some hours sha. The second issue was in Niger state. The train ran off its track. Only the first 7 coaches could continue the journey to Kaduna and I was in the 11th Coach.

Omoh kon see rushing. I was able to enter one of the coaches through the window. E no funny that day.

Can someone go from Lagos to Abuja by train, even if you have to break the journey into two.

Because the last time I plied that Lagos to Abuja by road, I didn't have enough for flight ticket and the discomfort in that bus weakend my left legs for weeks that I couldn't even stretch the legs fully.
So I would love to know how one can navigate Lagos to Abuja by train

Is there Lagos to Kano train?
The Lagos to Kano route is the old and narrow gauge one. This is the one that existed from the colonial era. It's not as comfortable as these new ones and it takes days to one's destination. The new trains which are the standard gauge only operate from ABJ-KD, LAG-IB and Itakpe- Warri.
The plan is to connect Lagos to Abuja then to Kano but they've decided to segment the construction. The current construction going on is the Kano to Kaduna that will automatically link Kano to Abuja.
Then there is the Itakpe- to Abuja construction that will also automatically link Abuja to Warri. Construction on this route will resume later in the year

I have used two train routes, Lagos to Ibadan and Agbor to Uromi.

My Lagos to Ibadan journey was everything good, from the check-in to the boarding and the actual ride. It was as if you were boarding a plane, very organized. The train itself was clean, the AC was good and the journey was enjoyable. The Lagos train station can compete with any other in the world. A massive edifice. One thing I will love them to improve on is the speed, the train is pretty slow, but aside from that, it’s all good. Also, on that route, all the other train stations upto the Moniya train station in Ibadan are not yet completed.

I used the Agbor-Uromi train station during the Yuletide. My experience of the Lagos-Ibadan route made me think I will be having similar experience but unfortunately the crowd was massive due to the free train ride declared by the federal government and people were rushing in when the train arrived Agbor from Warri, infact the train was pretty full before getting to Agbor. I stood all through to Uromi. The train is also good and noticeably faster than the Lagos to Ibadan route. The return leg of the journey was delayed. The route have two trains, and both leave at 8.30 am, the one from Warri will get to Itakpe and return same day (second leg leaves itakpe by 4pm) and vice versa with the train from Itakpe. Of note is that all the train stations on that route have been completed but smaller than the massive edifice in Lagos.

My first and only experience ride in a train was terrible and disastrous. This was in 2018 and it was a journey from Osogbo to Minna. The train was already full from Ibadan/Lagos before it got to Osogbo and the NRC staff still sold tickets anyways. We were at the station for several hours before the arrival of the train, the train was yet to even stop before people started racing towards it to get a comfortable seat. Despite that, I couldn't get a comfortable seat, it was at the back where loads were stored that I and some others were able to enter, despite paying 2800 for the ticket. I stood for almost 3 hours inside the train before I could finally get a managble seat when some people dropped at the next station.
We got to Minna the second day around 11pm in the night.
It was the most stressful journey I have ever undergone and I pray I never go through that kind of journey in my life again.

P.S: My major reason for boarding the train was to have the train-ride experience in my lifetime, but it was a regrettable decision.
