Tomek09:
The Executive Governor of Ebonyi State and Chairman SouthEast Governor's Forum, Chief Engr David Nweze (FNSE), this weekend inspects the construction of the longest flyover in the history of SouthEast and Nigeria at large.

The Iyere flyover is among the over 15 flyover bridges flagged off and commissioned by the Umahi led administration.

The governor noted that infrastructural development is key and top on the priority of his government and equally reiterates his commitment towards completing ongoing projects before handover date in 2023.

He is doing all, agriculture and education included, the new modern medical school is the best in the country and probably Africa.
mex551:
how many persons live in Ebonyl? How many has cars? Is there really a traffic problem in Ebonyi? Thought projects are supposed to solve problems? Why not try to build and develop Agriculture where Ebonyi has comparative advantage in the production of Rice and Yam? Abeg leave these misplaced priorities

This is the new Sam Mbakwe of the entire Eastern region.
He has shown that with little u can do more even in times of economic downturn. But some where in Abia where apart from revenue being received by the so called state, they still collect oil derivative revenue from the Central govt, yet we no see road to our state.

It will not be well with these group of people in Abia.

Orji Uzor Kalu.
Theodore Ahamefula Orji.
And the god forsaking son of the second name here...they call him Ikiku
And the current governor.

These four individuals have destroyed everything in Abia. See Ebonyi that collects half of what Abia state gets in a month yet nothing is happening.

Abia state governor is owing Abia state University lecturers and even Arochukwu college of Education teachers/lecturers and lots of civil servants in the state. If u talk, they sack u or pencil u down to be witch hunted like an antelope.

What a shameful govt!

Buhari should have handed the Second Niger Bridge to Engr. Dave Umahi to build it would have been completed 2 years ago.

Hmmm.... every roadway that is not laying on solid ground is now a flyover. Bridges are now flyovers. I'm just tired of useless flyovers....but this bridge is a good thing. It is an important link .... saves a lot of traveling time ... reduces accidents and saves lives. Whatever is spent on it is worth it in the long run providing it is well built.
Re: Iyere Flyover: Umahi Inspects Construction Of Longest Flyover In Nigeria by History555: 4:13pm On Mar 05, 2022
Stupid gov. What is the essence of building 15 flyovers. What ebonyi needs are primary health care centres, general hospitals, schools, equip to standard state owned hospital, roads to all agricultural villages, agricultural equipments, seedlings, support for farmers.

Sorry, Dave's projects are synonymous with quality.

You can ask questions if you care.

For this project, it's much more important to us than the Dangote Refinery.

The last time I read, this is called the longest flyover and never longest bridge as in Lagos mainland bridge. They are two different things. Bridges are majorly across the water bodies but flyovers are not necessarily be across water bodies and it can be up to 3 or four above another as you have in places like Singapore, Israel, Dubai to mention but a few. Be the learner you are made to be and do not switch into teaching without knowledge.

See as you just disgraced yaself on the biggest forum in Africa. Who told you there's anything called fly over? It's a bridge first before you describe the type by calling it a fly over bridge.

Wiseoneking, focus on you Gala Hawking business. Leave politics for us wey get the time knowledge.

Do you know what you are talking about
Please try to do fact findings before commenting. That man is basically the best of these sets of govs that will be going with buhari. How much is ebonyi getting that this man is using to work, from university of medical science, to international market to international airport to computer village to several road projects with meagre resources.
He has created enough employment

In your narrow view it is about bridges, right?
Is that why Nigerians dey japa to Ukraine and other places where we are treated worse than dogs
Or it is for jobs that pay well compared with the total package of their politicians?
Can we ever be wise

Essentially, yes, it's about bridges. Going by what Nigerians seem to complain most about, the gov is doing the right thing. Nigerians complain more about electricity, roads, buildings, pavements than even about insecurity and jobs. They complain about corruption too because they believe it deprives them of living in a West like environment.

Even when Nigerians watch media on Eastern Europe where the people look wretched and live mostly on dry bread and water, have no jobs, are hounded by stray dogs and youths high on glue fumes, Nigerians still say they would rather live there than in Nigeria. The reason why is because those Eastern Europe places are cemented, roads paved, buildings even and ordered and many bridges surmounting rivers and canals.

undecided As much as Dave is already taken the baton on infrastructural development even tho alot needs to be done, at least he has a bit of sense than other governor who couldn't generate took pick for their state.

Perhaps, he doesn't need to be commended for this project, what was he elected for in the first place, we need more stronger infrastructural development including high rise structures. He shouldn't be celebrated, it is because the Nigerian populace Don't understand their rights over this rouge, that is why any small thing they do is news, in 2023 Nigeria is jumping up for ordinary bridge not even flyover.

Japan built the longest glass flyover in the world and it is world class. Left to me the first state that will focus on generation of electricity will earn my standing ovation not just a bridge that might not stand the test of time. Let him give the pple electric ity and see if there won't be rapid development in that state.

Ask him how much he borrowed to construct that bridge and you will be wowed at the ridiculous amount he had borrowed without a means of paying back the loan.

No country as ever prospered either without a great leader or a popular revolt and the problems of Nigeria are Nigerian's. Thank you

Re: Iyere Flyover: Umahi Inspects Construction Of Longest Flyover In Nigeria by chymeze: 4:39pm On Mar 05, 2022
From the look of that environment, there is absolutely no need for a flyover there! Is the governor just trying to waste money on projects that are not necessary just for people to hail him? Flyovers are good only where they are needed like in busy and traffic prone areas etc not in a rural community where the need doesn't even exist and wouldn't exist for years to come. There is a difference between felt needs and actual needs. That environment looks too unbusy etc to require a flyover built there. He should have used part of the money to construct a good road (that is, if it's also needed) and then use the remaining money for more important needs of the state rather than putting up structures which are unnecessary. This shows that our leaders don't think at all.
