African don't know that we are not as liberal as the white people spiritually.
People dying in their sleep. they say is b.p shoot up.( what will make the bp of a sleeping person shoot up)
Someone cannot sleep . They say is insomnia.

I like the way your mind works.. Cos you're mind is awake. I've also learnt a thing or two from your posts.. Like tge way you summed this, wer not as free as the whites, another wonderful summation... This is how id like to put it and based on my experience... Ive stayed in rich neighborhoods and poor neighborhoods, ive realized, spiritual attacks and bad dreams are nastiest in these poor places... My conclusion, devil has more strength, where his people are plenty than places, whose main predisposition is love(oyinbo?)

Jesus made us all free, white black red etc.. But black Africa had alot of evils still ongoing.. We don't have to look far, check nairaland daily and you'd see what am saying.. These are the few ones that are caught, there are still millions in ogun state etc that arent caught, thousands of nairaland witches and wizards...

If you marry and prayerful man you both would be untouchable cos you're spiritual eyes are open. You're an asset

Honestly, the guy pressing you is you giving yourself reasons why you are finding it hard to breathe and move at that particular time. I’ll further explain with my personal experience. The first two or three times I had sleep paralysis, the person that supposedly walked in my room and try to kill me was my father. This was of course a period in my teenage tears when myself and popsy were always at logger heads. So while sleeping I was always still quarreling with him and like many troubled teens would think an overbearing parent hated them, I believed he hated me. So it was easy to explain to myself that it was my father trying to kill me. However once you read and more importantly accepts the concept of a sleep paralysis and your own strength either in knowledge or spirituality you’ll find that you no longer see this person pressing you. If at all you have a sleep paralysis, you see yourself sleeping in an awkward position and consciously telling yourself to move a limb and change your sleeping position. My two cents. This was not meant to change your belief system. I just thought I’d share my side of the story. Shallom.

Those of Una weh don turn sucker for science or adopt science as new religion. Una well done.

I know say no be everything be winch. But can we just agree say some or not all things can be rational explained.

You say its sleep paralysis. Fair enough. that will imply I "can't move" in a semi consciousness state. All by myself.

But what about the silent figure or human like person that always enter the room while I can't move... pin down in a helpless state while he press the living day out of me and am silently yelling Jesus!. . Can anyone explain? Or all of Una go just pretend like the guy no join the conversation.

What about the guy? Can men of science explain.

Woow couldn't believe it.... Is been long though but I am a very observant teenager then ooh. I notice I will be awake but cant move in the day time, though often I eventually force myself to wake. It wasn't funny but after much insight i discover for me ooh it was masturbation as a teen then. So I stopped infact sleep paralysis is what make me stop masturbating. So yes I agree it is over stressing the body and mind.

We use to call it Nightmare and when I was younger i thought it was a spiritual attack, I could swear I was seeing movements in the corner of my eyes when it's happens.
It was when I went to the university that I saw something about it online and i made research that's when I found out it was just a normal phenomenon and not that there was something out there planning on killing me but I swear it was scary.
There was one week that anytime I sleep be it afternoon or night, this sleep paralysis will come and I wont be able to breath, that week was so scary and that week a roommate of mine in school saw a vision for me which she interpreted as a "death vision" and that I dont have much time.

So that period whenever I had sleep paralysis I always feel that I couldn't breath, so I assumed that her vision was true, let's just say that period was very hard lol

Did you later die? grin

Africans and their religion that hasn't solved any real world problem. Sleep paralysis has nothing to do with spirituality or whatever you wanna ascribe it to. It remains a kind of sleep whereby you are conscious but cannot move your body. If sleep paralysis is spiritual then your normal sleep is spiritual too. I had the experience when a Med Dr recommended one sleeping pill for me and it ceased to occur the moment I stopped taking the medicine. Sleep paralysis has to do with how you manage your body before sleeping or during your sleep (your posture).

The problem lies with people like you who call themselves atheists , When you separate Science from spirituality you get religion. Empty ineffective inefficient religion of just words doctrines norms and dogma.
When you separate spirituality from Science you get atheism.
Atheism has no depth core or soul.
A resounding Empty drum that makes a loud noise , having scratched only the surface of existence they jest at what they can’t fathom. For instance Almost every invention we have that are indigenous to Africa was made by traditional men who married spirituality with indigenous science, but most atheists are slaves to the Europeans world who don’t even look inwards to know what their ancestors have achieved way before their slave masters.
While the association of African atheists are yet to give us one single invention , all they do is talk. Like I said reality goes beyond sense experience, there are so many occurrences science will never be able to explain, study about mysticism and telepathy to learn better.

When you take so many things for granted, you will call it a name (Civilization) and make it look normal.
Sleep Paralysis is not normal and has nothing to do with overthinking.
This is a situation, where someone is awake from sleep, but struggling to wake up fully. You can't even move your body or even speak. You feel been pressed down. You struggle in this state to wake fully or to rise.
So many has gone to early graves through that means. You will only hear, he/she went to bed and couldn't wake up the next day.
If you're conscious enough, while in that struggling state, you will see a dark shadow leaving.
When you pray about it to stop. It will stop forever.
Am a living withness.
Most times, if am in that state, what saves me is the name of Jesus, but trust me, you can't say it and if you're not conscious enough, it won't come to your mind.

Sleep Paralysis is beyond the name "Sleep Paralysis" it's actually something deep and one needs to pray against it.

Thanks

We are all destined for greatness.
I think this should be my first topic on nairaland. I have a keen interest to understand the spiritual and physical world this has led me to a lot of knowledge about my human and spiritual nature, to this moment I always look for a reason to understand why a person acts, thinks or behave the way he or she does, this has helped me not to judge people but see a reason behind their mannerisms in all ramifications. After understanding sleeping paralysis I wanted to know what is going on within me while it was happening. It never came for a very long time until last week. Damn the human body is indeed a great suit for moving on the earth plane. I do a lot of astral projection so I know I should be able to handle sleep paralysis when it comes. So on this fateful morning my eyes were opened and the force keep pulling on my face, I shifted to another direction it came again then I said now continue, it was like full force of air pushing my face so hard, I remained dead silent to hear the sound within my body, it was like 10-15 Seconds I heard the sound of a hundred falling glassware, and rushing water filling the whole house, I had this fear of and feelling just like when you ruined something and scared of the repercussions, I was still silent but a voice said you have ruined the parlor, within some seconds another says to me there's no glassware or water in the parlor, I was about getting confuse where I was because the sound was so heavy like thunder.

I woke up and sit on my meditation position, do some breathing excercise like thirty minutes the picture became clear.

I finally understood why I usually have sleep paralysis, it means to me a fear within me that I have not overcome, something I secretly fear and dread so much. I have been dreaming of a particular door since my childhood, that's a story for another day.

Let me stop here for now .

one time in 100 level i was lying down on my bed in school facing the wall....i wasnt asleep yet and i saw a shadow on the wall and then the sleep paralysis started..but the weird thing was i could move my legs i kept hitting my legs on the bed my roommates kept laughing (they thougt i was dreaming)..it was horrifying
Re: How Many Of You Have Ever Experienced Sleep Paralysis? by Babanah: 10:03pm On Mar 12, 2022
The is nothing ‘spiritual’ about this phenomenon. What happens is, to put it simply is the brain shifts it’s ‘gear’ into neutral kind of disconnects from the body. The reason for this is because the brain continues to function while we are immobilized (asleep), hopefully safely in bed. Otherwise how could it perform other important functions like sorting and storing of information? Hence we dream but at the same time remain immobile.
The so called “paralysis” is experienced when the brain is about to re-engage the body but it’s a bit slow. Say a slit second between when we regain consciousness and when the brain reconnects to the body.
All hail the Brain, the most fascinating organ to study.

Yeah. Really horrific. I don’t like to talk about things like this because people will think you are nuts or something. When I was going through a spiritual warfare, one of the ones I saw was a Centaur. Anyway, at least now you know you’re not alone.

OgA you questions has already been answered , I don’t need to break it down to you level of comprehension. If you do need proof for everything, why has science not proven the source of “consciousness” despite believing in it they have no proof for it. Scientists know it exists, but they can’t prove where in the brain it comes from or how we obtain or retain it. An offshoot of this is sleep, it exists but no one can scientifically prove why all living creatures need it or how we can sometimes lose only a part of our consciousness when we do. Why do people yawn? Does science have an explanation for this? Yet they know it exists and don’t have a choice. Alaye go sleep

Sleep paralysis + wake up to see marks all over the body. Once you experience this and have a religious background, you'll definitely think it's some spiritual/supernatural phenomenon, and of course it's a colossal lie! Stress, body biochemistry, neuro-activity etc. when asleep causes sleep paralysis. Hallucinations is also experienced during sleep paralysis.

And to avoid those body marks, sleep in a clean bed and in a cool and serene non infested mosquito environment. Also make sure your fingernails are low and blunt. Because when there's too much heat + mosquito bites, you'll scratch your body mercilessly and wake up to see different marks on your body.

My 2 cents.
rubbish.

Illiteracy is a disease.

There was a time people believed that the rising of the sun was spiritual. They believed it was a god riding a fiery horse of flame.

If you told them that it's just the earth rotating round the sun, they would probably scorned you or worst kill you for blasphemy against that god.

There was a time people believed that the water in coconut was a mystery. There was a time people believed that God put the earth at the center of the universe and the moon and sun are rotating around it.

There was a time people believed that twins are evil or have super powers.

All these were attributed to the nonexistent spiritual world because people then have no understanding.

But as the light of science shone on them, we threw away such ridiculous hypothesis.

Open your eyes. Everything has a reason and is fully physical.

Because we don't have the explanation now doesn't mean we'll rest or leave it as spiritual.

Wake up man.
