I know I may get some backlashes for this on Nairaland but the truth is some industries deal more with looks than any other thing, hospitality (I mean the top ones) is one of them. Even if you apply for some position in bank without an extreme enticing body/shape, you will not be selected.
It's a known fact everywhere not just in Nigeria, you should know your look/ body shape can get you disqualified for some jobs.

I remember someone saying "ooomo, una get fine fine girls for here o" when I was working for one company few years ago. The truth is beauty is one of the things they consider in that company when recruiting (not only for girls), because they believe they sell looks and naturally or not, you must be presentable at all times.
Most top hospitality need modelled structured individuals especially at the front office or someone with banging body as Yinkaolusesi16 says. It's the plain truth, it's not as if they are selling them, but they add value to the company. It's a form of indoor advert. You may understand better when you have your own business.

I want to say that if it is an hotel job, then it is not the height but the appearance. Most of the most sought for ladies in social business are apparently the portable sized once who display confidence . Even if she is a dwarf, so its not really being short as not dazzling with your god given height.

The last one I even attended was last week and the whole process was so organised. they even sent me my score so I thought I had made it in life. Only for them to later inform me to come with some money to get some training materials for the job. I did some findings about the organisation which I didn't had time to do because of the short interval between my application and the call for interview.

One fine/tall girl has told me something like this before,..she Said one lawyer that do come to Where she was working once asked her to find somebody that look exactly like her to work for him, because she didn't get anybody at that time, she had to call one of her friends who is not tall for the lawyer, but when the man saw the girl, he Rejected her saying he doesn't want a short girl

I am not knocking you or any thing like that but this post explains why we are in the shitt hole we find ourselves. Our worship of sex and sexual inuendo has really bleeped Nigeria up. If she had a banging body but works with kidnappers, that will be just great? if she is rude to staff and customers but the boss or recruiter is wetting their dicks in her, that would just be great for the firm. This is why no Nigerian company survives past a generation, This takes me back to almost 20 years ago when I went for NYSC, I went to a firm to look for placement, on getting there, the scretary called the boss upstairs and the boss said that if it was not a girl, he was not interested. I had the IT skills to move this company forward but that did not happen because the boss wants an office wife.

I'm considering this too. The dimensions things have taken makes me wonder if I can survive on salary and what kind of parent I would be when I got a family to take care of.
I've got intention to learn one particular skill and I hope to build a career around it. Just tussling around trying to gather some money to pay for the registration.
I know it won't be easy but I'm determined to achieve beyond what my certificate can offer.

The government needs to prohibit union. With the rate at which short people are getting married now, the average height in Nigeria might be 3 feet in years to come.

Who told you that if a short person marries a tall person they will produce average children? My dad is very tall married my short mum and they produced all four short children except one which is average.

Anyone can be employed or rejected for any reason. But the recruiter no try at all. He wasn't professional enough.
